Reading between the lines of all the press conferences I watched. The manager thinks Varane and Maguire as pairing doesn't work well together and Evans/Maguire having played as pairing with Leicester have a better understanding.
If Martinez was fit he'd be starting alongside Varane.Another awful line up that shows ETH is either wanting to get sacked or has totally lost the plot.
They put the keeper first and the rest are order in numerically.
ETH prefers Maguire over Varane now and Evans as LCB. The other 3 are nothing players. No complaints from me.
The weird thing for me is I thought Mount was coming into form before he got dropped.That's an awful line up.Amrabat being utterly terrible in the air is playing a part in his non selection I would thinkGreat lineup.That midfield is very open.

i mean i really hoped he was just going to be a younger version of eriksen in midfield and somehow have the perfect attributes that EtH was looking for in the deep midfield. Been so damn disappointed and considering how we overpaid due to the english tax on him not looking like a great spend of money right now

My guess of what's going on is that ETH won't play either Maguire or Varane at left centreback. He just has them in contention for right back in competition with each other. At the moment Maguire is ahead of Varane and because of their time together at Leicester pairs up better with Evans than Varane. I don't think Varane will see much playing time until Shaw/Martinez are back to play left centre back or Maguire messes up badly.I like the idea of Garnacho and Rashford on the wings. Maybe Hoijlund can get some service at lastI had 10.. I had Varane in not Evans.. Rashford is crap on the right. Eriksen, Bruno and McTominay all guilty of stupid turnovers in possession and 0 defensive cover. Don't even know what to say about Evans over Varane.Danes are Scandinavian Scousers so the atmosphere will be a warzone.
Imo He won't play Varane with Maguire.. perfers Evans Maguire. Licha back it may well go back to Varane ,Licha.. ..
He'll probably look better if/when a new manager comes in and just sticks him in the hole behind the striker. He's not a deep/central midfielder for me, I'm not sure where ETH has gotten that impression.
But surely it would cause unnecessary tension in the changing rooms to have him in the match day squad of there was a falling out?Who is Forson?It's not the lineup I expected and relies on us to be clinical with chances this time.
We should've scored more than one in the home leg.I'll say I hope this lineup proves to be inspired and it works out.
What I'm expecting is for our midfield to be blitzed and us having to play a very cagey game where we can't control the play enough to get that rapid frontline off and running like they should be.
I suppose our pace up front can keep Copenhagen honest, mind, as pushing too high up against that kind of speed has a high probability of backfiring at some point.
Going to not say anything else about Varane, either. Let's see how this pans out.- Status
