Varane benched again. What the fecking feck is going on?

So wtf is going on with Varane?

It’s looking more and more likely that he’s fallen out with ETH.

You don’t drop a fit multi champions League winning defender for a 35 year old Evans unless there are other circumstances at play.

He's been garbage all season and lasts 2 games before injuries. Defence you need consistency, understanding. Varane doesn't give that. He's also garbage on the ball. It makes sense to pick guys who are better on the ball and who can stay fit.

Not much wrong with the line up on current form. Everything wrong with the summer transfer business.

would love to see that front 3 starting. Can have the wings swapping sides frequently to keep them off balance. Hopefully they move the ball quickly and we dont see static 1v1 crap out wide like generally seem to
Keep them off balance? Once Rashford swaps to the right, it's easy street for Copenhagen

Would have liked Amrabat for McTominay, we need an out and out DM.
Amrabat is alright but not a true out and out DM, and doesn't have the legs to cover Eriksen. If you out Amrabat in, you don't need Eriksen but you need more defensive cover, and McTominay makes it too negative. So on balance it's probably better with McTominay and Eriksen.

Surely Varane wouldn't even be in the squad if that was the case?

I think it's more of a case that he just isn't fit enough yet, but can do a job if required from the bench, and EtH would rather not waste a defensive sub unless he really has too hence the reason he starts on the bench.

I just get nervous because McTominay can't seem to hold his position and be disciplined which means we leave gaps.

Rashford on the right? Crappy midfield? Retirement home duo at CB?

What more can a Man Utd fan hope for.

Yep. Odd that anyone is so surprised by it.

Amrabat and Mount on the bench, while we start a guy that we spent all summer trying to sell.

    Make it make sense.
The two mentioned were shit so far and the other one performed when given the chance.

I like this current approach from ETH. Going with performances rather then reputation. (well, expect from Rashy and Bruno, but every manager has his favourites.)

Four changes from the Old Trafford match v Copenhagen. Out Varane,Reguilon,Amrabat,Antony. In Evans,Wan Bissaka,Eirksen,Garnacho

Nah that would create unnecessary headlines.

Looks like Sancho was a mere distraction.

These lineups are a joke really, makes it really hard to support ETH when it predictably goes tits up. What kind of control or defensive structure can you have with McT/Eriksen/Bruno? The selected defenders are also questionable.

Someone is going to have to explain to me how ETH can spend the amount of money he has and we have that back 4 and midfield combo ?

He doesn't want to play Maguire and Varane together because he prefers both on the right and a left footer next to them and Maguire is playing well, so until his form drops I doubt we're seeing Varane starting.

So wtf is going on with Varane?
Maguire is undroppable atm, and Evans is the only two footed/left foot CB that's not injured.

ETH wants someone that can easily hit passes out from the back and up left.

Is the kick off at 8? That's an early release no?
EtH playing 4D chess level mind games - "We'll send you our lineup up front, and there's nothing you can do about it - that's how little we think of you"
