Loads seem to be keeping Eriksen out of their lineups, he was the key to winning the reverse fixture.

I can see it being one of those Champions league nail-biter games that should be resolved but end in an unsatisfactory draw. I've gone for a 1-1 prediction.

I can see them hitting us for an early goal with a cold start and we then toil until we get a last minute equaliser...or

We get an early goal...then gradually retreat back into lots of sideways passing to "defend the lead" and they get a long range deflected goal / OG to level things up....just so we have a nice tense encounter in Turkey, hoping Bayern do us a favour.

Erikson has to be a starter. He is the only member of the squad who can make us tick and gain control of a match.
id give him the first 60 minutes of every single match But definitely in important games like this one. If after 60 hes blowing swap him out but he is the first name on the team sheet for me.

Will we keep at the 4231? With our midfielders we'd be better served playing a diamond with split forwards.

    ................Onana

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Dallot

    ...............Amrabat

    Mount..................McTominay

    ..................Bruno

    ....Højlund............Rashford

I like this...so it is not going to happen.

Surely this will be the day we attain our guest convincing win since…last season.

Mainoo playing for u19 atm. Was hoping to see him gettin a few minutes tonight.

Has Ten Hag given any youth player decent minutes? He will run his first XI into the ground chasing results.

To be clear, if we don't win this one, we're out of Europe.

If we win, we'll have 6 points, we'll be second of the group with Galata 4 points and Copenhagen 1 point.

In three weeks, we'll go to Galata where we'll have to draw, then we'll have 7 points, Galata 5 and Copenhagen still one. (if we lose, it'll be Europa again)

Finally, we'll have to win at home against a second Bayern team to be sure to be second of the group. (because Galata will win, have 8 points and a better position than us)

I wouldn't be too quick to say Bayern will play a second team regardless of their position.

We really have to win our next 2.

It's likely that they will field a second string/youngster defence, but a strong offence. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends similarly high scoring as the match in München

At least with the way the group is shaping up, if we lose tonight then we just need to lose or draw with Galatasary and we'll not have to waste time fumbling around in Europa again.

Why do teams never make glaring mistakes against us anymore? Hasn't happened for ages. We're due their goalkeeper throwing it into our goal at this stage.

Probably because we hardly create any chances.

We have a lot of forced turnovers but we rarely capitalise on them. We don't get pens even when they are legit. If the other team conceded an own goal it would be ruled out for offside.

If you are good enough, you'll get your time.
I wouldn't count on it, Garnacho or not. Also, ETH was making noises about Mainoo being potentially important when maligning the spate of injuries that were ruining his chance to implement Hagball 2.0 Now Mainoo's back and bossing reserve games whilst our midfield is some combination of over-run and clueless, and he's not even giving him a sniff. Which is why, at best, he needs a strong SD over him calling attention to these things and instilling some accountability amongst technical staff as well as players..

    You heard of Garnacho mate

It sort of proves my point. If it takes Garnacho level impact to even get a chance in the first team, the bar is ridiculously high. Even with his impact, he got all of 500 minutes last season and I remember OT booing when Garnacho was subbed / calling for him to be subbed in in games we were chasing. It took Rashford being absolute dogshit this season to get even a few mins of playing time. Once Rashford's done being disciplined for partying after the City defeat, he'll go straight in to the side.

Get some service into Hojlund please. Either via Crosses or play Bruno highup at 10 so he can play through balls.
Otherwise we are going to be breaking his spirit and he'll be deemed a faliure and another of ETH's bad buys.
He's a classic number 9 - play to his strengths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's hope they don't get a soft pen like the u19s had that was embarrassing.
Good start goal up that means taking a chance, they need points as well at home have t attack it should if played correctly suit our front men.

Let's see line up .. and go from there

Think it'll be the same 11 as weekend except Rashford for Garnacho. Varane a possibility, but Ten Hag talking of a settled 11 in the press conference suggests he'll try and keep the same team for a couple of weeks
Hope not. Antony needs to be dropped, he’s not creating anything. Rashford will play for sure on the left, but I’d rather Garnacho or Pellistri on the right. Need to get some service into Rasmus.

ETH should ring Moyes for a copy of his tactics against Fulham in 2014.

81 crosses , Hojlund should definitely get on the end of least 1.

Still posters predicting easy wins by 2 or 3 goal margins. What is that based on, have you not watched much of United this season?

I'm expecting similar to Old Trafford match between the two, a pure slugfest of game and any win will be hard earned. I see the cocky Copenhagen coach is taking up the great atmosphere of Parken Stadium better than any in the premier league ground he reckons, will be nice to silence it with an early United goal.

Will be a tense game but i think we will do it and I think Bayern will win their game.

All we need is a couple of goals to lift some of the negativity, I'm going for our first good performance of the season. 2-0 win.

I feel everything points towards a disaster, so we'll probably pull out a confident 2-0 win.

well ship 2 goals in 10-15 mins and wont get a sniff at their goal till the 50-60th min.

This is not a farmer team. City, Dortmund and Sevilla all drew here in last years CL group stage. They have really good stats at home when qualifying for the CL group stage. In 14 CL home games they have suffered only three defeats. 0-2 in the round of 16 against Chelsea 2011, 0-2 against Real Madrid in 2013 and an unlucky 1-2 against Bayern this season. They beat us 1-0 in 2006.
