Has to be said that had it been McT caught in possession (for the second time in two games) for the everton goal and missing a sitter, there would be outrage here. Also, I thought we'd ended DDG playing it out short from the back - still putting the man under pressure with poor balls.

Other than that, we've been very good at times (although giving the way cheaply too much). I was going to be critical of Martial but clearly was not fit (again. it seems to happen every day there's a "y" in it)

Casemiro is getting plenty of stick? McTominay hasn’t won five Champions League titles either, so people are less inclined to see him settle. It’s all rather obvious.

Luckily for Casemiro his assist overshadowed the terrible pass he'd made to give away possession moments before.

He has made at least 3 terrible passes so far.

Am I on acid or is De Dea sweeping well and not sweating bullets on the ball?

De Gea has been much, much better at both sweeping up and distributing the ball in the games since the international break.

Casemiro needs help in midfield. He's making those errors because he 's under so much pressure anytime he touches the ball because he's the only one holding. The errors haven't been punished because Everton have chosen to sit back. Playing only one holder in this Manchester United team will not work.
We play one holder and two no.10s. Casemiro at his peak would struggle, let alone this version.

One day we will play a midfield 3 with proper profiles. One day.

He has had some excellent moments combined with some very bad moments

Think that’s been the case in every game so far. He plays some really neat passes, reads the game well and accelerates our play in a lot of ways. And then he makes loads of mistakes. I don’t mind the mistakes because it’s refreshing compared to players who don’t want to receive the ball under pressure or can’t see the pass, but it’s weird.

Seems like he’s trying to do things he’s not really capable of. I guess playing second fiddle to Modric and Kroos can get a bit boring, and he’s taking the opportunity to express himself. The thing is he didn’t seem like much of a baller at Santos either, but played with a similar kind of adventure. I reckon he needs a partner he can trust to defer to.

Both united goals came from terrible mistakes from everton and with the team totally out of place. No way we would score those against a proper team
Yeah.... that's not how football works. Every team concedes from those sort of things, even the very good ones.

Yeah once Casemiro gets his run and adapts, he'll become undroppable.

Cut out the sloppy square passes, and we're OK. To many of those. Casimero should have scored, gives ball away wins it back puts I a lovely pass and Ronny does what he does low hard . Come on lads

I’d love to be inside De Gea’s head at times. On what fecking planet is it a good idea to play a short goal kick routine with less than thirty seconds on the clock until half time? Our players are idiots.

And yes, we’ve played quite well.

Me too, happy he scored, because we now have the lead, but still don't like his antics, want him gone. Now we will have to bear with fanbois on Caf, internet, media, oh dear, ex Utd players...

He’s an absolute cnut and not particularly great for our team play. But given Martial’s injury woes, we need a scoring Ronaldo.

I've liked Case despite mistakes. I don't think we'd be dominating like we are, he's spread the play well and just looks like quality in there while getting his match fitness and sharpness required. We're in desperate need for quality after Eriksen to keep a hold in games.

A Few sloppy moments aside we've been excellent should be 3 or 4-1 at least.
Hopefully we keep this up and get another 2 or 3 2nd half.

Entertaining first half. Somehow I was not too disappointed with the first Everton goal, because in fairness, that was a great goal, and I knew our boys were going to be fighting back.

Good stuff from Martial and Antony, shame Martial got his injury again as he was looking good - or at least doing his all with the injury in mind, but what a super-sub Ten Hag got in his hand, Ronaldo coming up fired-up and scoring his 700th club goal.

I hope we get to kill this game 3-1 or 4-1, Everton has to be more aggressive in the second half and it can also open opportunities for us.

    Dalot was very bad

I feel we've been watching different games. I think Dalot was really really good, multiple times finding solutions when pressed and making good passes. Certainly passes I wouldn't trust AWB to make.

I do think he and Antony had more opportunities to create chances, but decided to play safe when in dangerous positions.

Been a decent game all round. We need to do something about Dalot making the square pass. How is that the only pass he has on? Are others making themselves available or is he refusing to use them?

We also play like bunnies. Midfield wins the ball and tries to find our forwards, which isn't a bad tactic, just that those forwards inadvertently lose possession and the team is under pressure again. We need to make sure we don't turn this into that sort of game as we are lacking intensity over 90 minutes.

Also worrying how non of our midfielders seem to be composed enough on the ball to hold it for a few seconds during our build-up phase. Trying to pass the ball to the wide forwards first-time every time will only increase our risk of getting countered with any loose pass - of which there have been many around our center.

Dunno. A lot of personal comments here.
3 years later we're still hearing about Maguire's traumatic experience in Greece (that he caused) but Ronaldo lost a child a few months ago and yet that's barely ever mentioned.

It's clear it becomes personal for some, intentionally or not. Ronaldo also looked up for it on Thursday.

DDG shocked me. Not only sweeping, he was involving himself in build up, made a couple of nice incisive passes. Also failed to save Iwobi’s shot. I’m not complaining about the latter. Where is David De Gea?

His sweeper keeping has been revelatory. Like a different player.

Casemiro is getting plenty of stick? McTominay hasn’t won five Champions League titles either, so people are less inclined to see him settle. It’s all rather obvious.

Casemiro is way, way better out there than McT.

Luckily for Casemiro his assist overshadowed the terrible pass he'd made to give away possession moments before.

He has made at least 3 terrible passes so far.
He has, but he's adapting to a new league and a new team. He played a key role in our second goal. It will take a bit of time.

Lets see if Haaland gets close to 700 career goals. With the circle jerking going on around him, you'd think he's there or thereabouts already.

Under Ten Hag, there aren't many striker as good as Martial. He's very integral to us playing good football and involved in all of scoring, assisting and helping build up plays. So yes you won't easily find a striker like that.
He's played a handful of games, how are you projecting his importance on that? He was very important to us under Ole until he just stopped trying. I think we can find a striker who is more consistent in terms of effort and fitness, we will have to because even if he is the guy we will have no depth and he's bound to miss games.

    Simply don’t abuse either.

Pickford has made both goals easier by coming out. Awful keeper
