I only pick Rashford because ETH never drops him so just as Rashford is starting to almost justify his starting place Hag goes and drops him to the bench.
Trying to predict a starting lineup is akin to winning the bloody lotto.

Why is Redknapp implying that Rashford has been out on the lash too much? Did I miss something?

The midfield wouldn’t be my first choice, I’m not sure that Eriksen and Mainoo can do to Palace what they did to Southampton in the 2nd half but hope that they can. Would have started Rashford again as he seems to have eye in front of goal now but no problems with Garnacho getting minutes as he deserves a start too.

Yeah I was thinking this too. I haven't seen anything. Unless its just Redknapp talking shite like most weeks or he knows too much. Literally no ones mentioned this being the reason at all.

A must win game to keep pace for Top 4 finish. There are many good teams this season fighting for Top 4.

Already chasing the pack, so we really can’t afford to drop points here. Very risky selection, but let’s see how it goes.

    Bench looks strong for once.

Bizarre midfield choice. Eriksen playing his 3rd game in a week and paired with Mainoo, not much protection for the back 4 at all, at a time when we’ve got 2 proper DM’s on the bench. If this goes tits up the blame falls squarely on the manager.

I hope the thought behind this is a bit more advanced than “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”

I’ve put a few bets on today and most of them revolve around rashford ffs.

Why does everyone keep saying Rashford has been dropped when ETH has already elaborated he’s simply being rotated. This is what everyone wanted correct?

    When it doesn't happen: complain.

It's the cafe, people have to be negative.

It's the lineup of a team expecting to dominate possession... let's see *fingers crossed*

I guess he has one eye on the Europa game. Then we got our next two games in the league Tottenham and Villa. These games no doubt will have Mainoo, ugarte, rashford etc.

Kobbie has improved a lot defensively this season. I suspect that's why ETH feels comfortable adding Eriksen into midfield. I'm still a bit nervous about us off the ball tbh. Looking forward to see how Garnacho and Amad do on either wing. No matter which of the 3 got dropped, it was going to feel harsh and Garnacho definitely earned his start. Bench looks a lot stronger now Hojlund and Mount are back.

I think “brave” is the most charitable way to describe the midfield selection. I think we could get obliterated, again.

Yeah. I think that will be the plan with the CBs pushing high to fill the space.

Palace will play counter so I tend to feel we need De Ligt and Martinez need to be both on it and first to everything stepping in.

Plan should be to control possession, nick a goal and then make them come on to us later. We have options from the bench to bring on.

About time we have strong competitions where the likes of Rashford isn’t guarantee to start every game, let’s hope Mount stays fit and push Bruno game time this season.

He is, but is that out of necessity too? Like he’s making an insane amount of interceptions per game because of our frantic play?

Rashford better have a knock or ETH is just plain stupid.
People have been going OTT with the "Rashford back to form" stuff, he still doesn't do much off the ball - Amad has been showing him up on the right. Garnacho deserves to start.

Nah, Palace have no midfield either, just Wharton. They're so bad this season we'll beat them regardless of what we put out.

Predicting that Palace will have a bright start, with United on the back foot

I don’t understand. He knows Palace’s best player is an attacking midfielder, yet he’s dropped our best and most industrious defensive midfielder in Ugarte to in place of a 32 year old in Eriksen whose best days were in attacking midfield. The decision is almost imbecilic.

My confidence and bullishness after our past 2 games are down after seeing the lineup. Having said that, I’m desperate for a win and to be eating a massive slice of humble pie in around 2 hours. UTFR.
