Excited, yet at the same time extremely pessimistic about this one. I think they'll go from being defensive and clueless last week, to attacking - but still clueless - against a well-organized team today. Would love to be proven wrong. 3-1 Cardiff.

What is wrong with people

Even in our shite form we've put at least 2 goals in against the fodder. We'll easily put 3 past Cardiff especially without Lukaku

Hey, I certainly hope you're right. Would love a convincing victory. I just don't expect a cohesive performance after a few days of a different regime. It might take a few weeks to get things going.

Bloody hell. When you say "extremely pessimistic", you really mean it?!

We're not clueless... we've had poor coaching, poor tactics and various players have made errors.

It will get better... might not be fast but it'll improve. Have faith.

I’m expecting a comfortable win to be honest.

My prediction is 4-0 or 4-1 to United.

Rashford to be the star man.

Sorry, not following any team news. Is Sanchez definitely out for this match?

FFS what is wrong with some in here !!
Jose gone, most in here wanted that , Ole running the show , seems to be received very well.
The team should be up for this , Cardiff are shit the bottom with a GD -16, FFS even with Jose I would be expecting to win this.
Time to believe in the team again.
I am sick of dreading games , time to enjoy football again !

You'd swear we didn't easily beat the similarly shite Fulham a couple of weeks back.

Fulham's defence is magnitudes worse than Cardiff's. I can't remember when I last saw one so naive.

    Your point still stands though.

Why do you think Cardiff will score 3 against us? They’ve only done that against Fulham this season. I doubt they would even set up to do so, I know Warnock.

True, probably similar to Southampton when we played them. I don't think we'll lose by two goals though.

I wouldn't be worried if we played them at Old Trafford. But Cardiff have taken 13 points at home, Fulham only one away point. On paper, at least, Cardiff away is a much, much trickier game than Fulham at home. And they've got Neil Warnock, who without doubt has prepared some shithouse tacticts that might be hard to break down.

    @JB08

Solskjaer's teams have very often struggled against defensively minded, well-organized opposition, moving the ball sideways without too many ideas, leaving themselves exposed for counter-attacks. And it's hard to trust our defence this season. From what I can tell, they really, really hate Ole in Cardiff, so expect a hostile atmosphere and maybe an early Stoke-type goal. There is no deep analysis behind my worries, it's just that these euphoric expectations can sometimes fall flat. But for me, being worried is a welcome emotion, after a year of apathy before, during and after games.

Please dont pick valencia and young as full backs ,
Its got to be shaw and dalot, if he picks the latter we will see progress, but if he picks the former then it will be tits up football we have become accustomed too!

Whoever gets all the 11 players correct in the lineup prediction game should get some reward.. a nice tagline or a username change or something

Don't think Ole will play pogba in a double pivot, more likely to let him be quite free. Prob won't work but just have a feeling that is how we will go.

Mata likely to play but not sure if martial or lingard plays given martial has missed games.

Fred hopefully in his preferred deep position with herrera in the team, assume herrera will be a big part of Ole's plans

Where do you play Mata if Pogba is in the attacking midfielder role - on the right?

Expecting Ole will be a bit conservative for his first match. I don't think he'll risk a lot especially away to Cardiff. I feel we'll see Young and Shaw as FBs but I'd like to see Dalot and Shaw if both are fit. No idea what happened to Shaw as of late. Was he injured or did he piss in Jose's cereal?

Sure there was something that he was the last player to have a row with Jose and wasn't picked after it.

Still excited for this match but seeing our rival, namely the dippers blow away their opponents yet again is kind of diluting the excitement and brings home the reality that we're still in a crisis and this season is fecking awful.

Hope Perreira starts getting game time, don't know what that guy did to Jose

He hasnt been good enough. People talk about Scott McTominay, but last year he was fantastic in two big games for us last season, against Chelsea and Liverpool. Pereira has yet to do that and has been around the first team set up longer than McTominay.

Alexis Sanchez has returned to training - as you can see by the video below.

Well, business commences for Ole. Time to walk the talk.

Of course, nobody expects a sensational transformation. But just picking the right players, the right formation and doing away with insipid sideways passing and mindless hoofs would be the bare minimum expected.

    0-2 United.
