Evans was smoked within 5 seconds of coming on against Arsenal. God fecking help us suffering him for 90 minutes.

It was a ridiculous decision signing him. He's shit and past it. Just give the minutes to some youth player. At the very least it would be a learning experience for them.

What a shite excuses those are, I have no idea why some of you have to come up with some excuses for Ten Hag? He could have easily started Garnacho or Martial instead of Mctominay, and have Bruno in midfield with Hannibal and Casemiro, both of those would be better lineups. He could also play Eriksen for 45 minutes and start Amrabat in the second half.

Mctominay is literally one of the worst players in the squad who don't deserve to play even when there is no one around, and especially not after performances he's had and lack of running he showed in last two games. He doesn't deserve to be in the squad, let alone first XI. This just goes further to show that Ten Hag doesn't punish bad performers and that people and criticism are right.

Agree with this, especially last part. No matter how poorly some players perform you can count of them starting again. It's sickening to see McTominay jogging around match after match and yet playing again and again.

Pfff, the diamond back again, it turned out great last week against Brighton. Could it maybe (hopefully…) be a three in midfield and Fernandes or Hannibal from the right?

Some surprises in selection. Evans is due to lack of options but glad to see Varane back on the bench. We've missed him so badly. Hannibal earned his start so hope he does well today. Not happy to see McTominay starting after his last performance but I guess Eriksen's also been terrible. I expect a win and anything less is frankly a disaster.

So we thinking Burnley score from a cutback at around 30/35 minutes, yeah?

Everton winning gives me some hope that we could also have a decent performance and get a draw.

Judging by Ten Hag's pre match comments, Mctominay brings power and energy in midfield. Yeah, I seriously have my reservations over Ten Hag's choices.

Well usually when everyone loves the lineup we are shite so let's pray the opposite happens.

The diamond again though...maybe Kompany doesn't figure it out the way de Zerbi did

I'm not even sure it was De Zerbi. It seemed like the players had figured it out by the 15min mark. You'd hope we have a plan to deal with how Brighton countered it.

You people really do come out with some assumptions. What do you mean no other club were willing to take him? Evans would have had offers but if I was in his position and Man Utd offered me the chance to come back, I'd take the chance. In his position, being 5th choice for Man Utd is better than starting for a relegation candidate Premier League team or a Championship team.

He will have had offers from teams but being back at his club was better so he wouldn't have gone.
Fair enough if you think that. I didn't see any reports that he had other offers and also we literally announced his signing on deadline day. So, easy to assume that he didn't have lot of offers on the table and it was a case of jobs for the boys.

In any case, he has no business playing for United now even as a 5th choice. We deemed him not good enough 8 years ago. I acknowledge ETH's hands are tied in this situation with all the injuries but the club should back him with better players.

The recent defence has looked worrying, so good to see Evans coming in to make it a total 2nd choice job.

If somebody told me at the start of summer that 5 games in this would be a United starting 11 then well…..I don’t know because I’m just lost for words

I've gone for a 2-0 win. Højlund and Rashford. Think we'll play well today. Burnett are more than beatable.

Maybe it's like a Chi energy. What you can't pick up on the pitchside mic is the 'ohhhmmmm' in a doppler effect as Scotty jogs past. We've all been fooled by the lack of hair, but Erik's a hippy at heart. it's all starting to make sense. The dutch invented Total football, ETH has evolved it into Tantric football.

How bad is Van De Beek when he ticks all the Ten Hag boxes and STILL doesn’t get a game ahead of McTominay and Hannibal??

It was always going to be a bit of a league cup
team tonight with all the players missing. Mctominay is extremely lucky to get another chance after his recent performances, but maybe there will be some response from him as he has been rightly called out in the media.

At least Hannibal is getting a chance as well.

We lost behind closed doors with McTominay but now we're playing them away with the same guy? Bloody hell.

Who is next on the injury bingo card? I mean, surely Martial has to be injured soon? We are already nearing October and he is still fit. How is that possible?
