Celebrating like they've won the fecking league.

I hate this sort of comment. Have you ever played a competitive football match and won a close game in the dying minutes only to stop and consider how important the game is in the grand scheme of things before deciding what degree of celebration is justified!?

Of course not - you've just won the fecking game so you automatically jump about and celebrate with your team mates. What's the fecking point in playing the game if you can't do that.

I don't know how a team can realy throw 3pts away..
Reports on this game now will be Brighton did this and That.. they did bugger all scored 2 goals that were gifted to them.. from cock ups again.

Missed chances again. And to be fair Zirkzee couldn't get out the way.. that goal stands we win comfy .. no need to chase a winner less room etc etc... this is were VAR although correct, has ruined the game in a whole.. that ruled out goal give Brighton impotence hope and deflated a few utd players.. and 7 mins added I could see a Brighton goal coming..

Eth now needs to get them off the floor for Sunday.. v the dippers .. because they will win there next game..

This is what happens when you let a single result dictate an entire new season.

Ten Hag should have been gone regardless of the Fa Cup result, the only decision from Ratcliffe and co that I haven’t been on board with.
They aren't stupid. They are going to stick with ETH while they sort out the club and the squad.

Once you have the squad you want and you've got rid of the deadwood. Then you bring your ideal manager in.

Antony with a blind back heel

go into your back garden, run on to the grass and slide. Have a friend twat a ball at you from 5 yards and whilst mid slide stop immediately and change your body shape

    Good luck

Please record it. Curious to learn how you can bend the laws of physics
You might be good for gardening but not for football.

I honestly feel like we could have just brought in a stop gap manager because Ten Hag will do anything but create stability.

    Normal service is resumed.

I dont think it was normal service to be honest. Incredibly frustrating with some well know weaknesses reappearing, but we didnt have many losses like that last season - I think we probably deserved to win and certainly didnt deserve to lose. It's a tough one to take, whereas so many losses last season we were absolutely awful. Im not trying to celebrate 'losing better', but there wasnt much beyond the winner that reminded me of last season at all

IMO our game went 'off key' at half time with substitution's.

The 'pass and move' attempts are getting better at the back, and on the edge of the opponents box, but either side of halfway line and in the opponents box itself we still seem like 'clod-hopping' shire horses at times. In these areas our overall passing is woefully in inadequate; mis-timed, wrong 'weight' on ball, passes too far in front, or too far behind, it's still 'school-boyish' at best.

For me high point in play today was the cracking first time cross from Dalot, which should have brought us a goal, immediately after they scored... could, and should have been, the killer blow.

    Spot on

Under 60 league goals in the last two campaigns, it's not looking like we'll improve on that this year. We need a 25 league goals a season player, I'm not sure that we have a 20 goals in all competitions play

Quite right. I think I am watching a different game at times. We are same as last year. Loose possession too easily too often and build up from the back merely gives the opposition time to reset so this tactic is usually causes our attacks to break down.
This is ten Haag all over, never changes and often looks confused on the line. Very poor tactics and him taking Bruno off was a disaster.

We lost a lot when Mount went off.
He was the only one of the front 4 who could press, harass and show a bit of physical presence to reduce Brighton’s ability to initiate attacking moves from the back.
Once he’d gone off, Brighton were able to quickly move the ball from their half towards our penalty area, in just a few passes, constantly putting us on the back foot.

Yes, I agree with this. Ran his socks off for 45 mins. Not sure why he was subbed at HT.

Infuriating shite. Again with losing games in the last minute. This team pisses me off

Problem of being at work and not being able to watch live.
Watching the recording brings foresight into play, and may put a pre judgement in my mind.

I've not been able to watch a live game this season (Yes I know we are only two in), so I can't pass judgement, going by what I've read here and from what others have told me, we seem to be missing easy chances, and look like we are scared to attempt a shot.

It's been a mixture of not creating that many clear cut chances and compounding that with not being clinical when we do.
Throw in some defensive mistakes and you can see though the team structure is much improved, we'll struggle to win games convincingly.

So, much the same as last season, even if we are waiting for signings to bed in

Brighton scored 3 goals, Amads was a massive deflection every day of the week.

Don't get me wrong we weren't excellent or anything. But it just felt like a tough to take loss rather than an abject, shapeless disaster

We miss a great finisher to be honest. Someone that you could hang your hat on to score. Brunos finishing has been poor in both games and Rashford looks off it. I just can't see where the goals will come from.

I don't understand the selection or the subs, why is Maguire starting when we have DeLigt why bring on Mctominay who is half wayout of the door, it makes me wonder if Ugarte will get a game because ETH will not drop Casemiro

Scotty T for Casa or Mainoo maybe as both looked gassed but for Bruno? A strange choice that had a negative effect on our play. Maguire played well against Fulham and other than the one time that he should have cleared today, he'd played okay. I believe it's a no no subbing a CB for the last 10 minutes, made zero sense at all. Although Amad got our goal, he was off it today, understandably so with the passing of a family member but he should have been pulled at half time.

It's only the second game of the season but it already has the feeling of same old same old, unfortunately.

I thought that we were actually good today. Very bad miss from Amad after wonderful Dalot’s cross and then that freak offside. It’s much better than last season so far.

Absolute travesty our winner didn't count. What the feck is this? Why can't just be some common sense beeing used?
Other than that a good game fecked by 2 brainfarts in defense.

Some good...some usual bad. It's clear now that Rashford, Mount and Casemiro can't start anymore, right? I'd rather see De Ligt in with Maguire and Martinez pushed into defensive mid, where he does have experience. Garnacho has earned starters minutes, along with Amad...so that means Rash to the bench. Mount is the most pointless and positionless player in the EPL. Running for the sake of running adds nothing. Zirkzee should be in from the start now.

This is the worst game I've seen Bruno play in some time. He was absolute trash today. His passing, touches, and decision making were bad. I'm actually happy EtH finally had the balls to sub him off. Can't remember the last time that happened in a game that wasn't an early round FA Cup or Carabou Cup game against a minnow.

He should have taken it on his right, good player, but lacks experience, he will learn from it if he bothers to watch it back

Just read a full page of comments and shocked to see no-one mentioning Maguire for the first goal, he literally fumbled it then turned around and looked 180 degrees away from the ball for god knows what reason, and by the time he turned back around he was completely out of shape and position to prevent the fist goal going in.

    Same old same old

You could say the same about Onana, glued to his line again, chasing shadows.
Having watched the game, it's impossible (for me) to pick a United MOTM, and I cannot be bothered to complete the individual ratings.
