EtH will never learn Casemiro will cost him his job and within 4-5 matches, starts this season like he started last season clueless?

Ruined the game when he took Mount off. Mount for Zirkzee wasn't what anyone was calling for or needed.

No it wasn't. Shouldn't have taken Bruno off. Should gotten rid of Mainoo of Case. Bruno has the best physique of all of them, keep him on. With Mount we were very average. We need to play with a striker.

    They
It has been coming from the 89th minute.
Brighton just kept coming and coming and we just couldn’t get hold of the game and wrest control from them.
Weak midfield is still our biggest problem and it hasn’t been addressed…again !
Basically changed their entire forward line. Dalot and Mazraoui looked shattered, but we don't have any other fullbacks

3 men to block the cross….still comes in and means no defenders anywhere else. Brilliant!
Because they ballwatch, we seem to think we can stare the ball away from our goal. They are all jedi apprentices.

Positivity during transfer season again. It's our yearly peak. Then the football starts and the suffering is back.

Don't know what game you people are watching. But this is nothing like last year. We were unlucky. Very very unlucky.

How many saves did their keeper have to make?

We were quite easily the dominant side before they scored completely against the run of play. We, like last weekend, lack the cutting edge up front. They got numerous very soft free kicks and we did not. We were obviously unlucky with Garnacho's effort too. In the final quarter of the match we slipped back into last season's territory.

But this Brighton side is nothing special. And I'm saying that when they field a team that's had a full preseason to prepare while we have not. I do not expect them to do anything of note this season. And I'll be glad for it.

That was because Mainoo went roaming for no reason tbh, left midfield wide open.

We have been very poor and it’s a deserved loss.

They've had 2 chances and scored 2 goals.

Utd were far better for a good stretch of the first half, taking off Mount and Bruno made absolutely no sense. Taking both off cost this game, they took over the midfield and Cas & Mainoo were gassed and needed help. McTominay should be nowhere near a team when you need to take hold of midfield and every time he comes on Utd lose all midfield control and shape. Dreadful player and this loss is on ETH and his subs.

He ran about 60m to get there and was key to the move. So yeah. Created. And we weren't any kind of attacking force afterwards.
We weren't any attacking force before either. He fecked way too many attacks himself beforehand.

We should have defended after we got the draw and hit them on the counter not left those open spaces at the back

They were also the dominant side in the 2nd half before we scored against the run of play. If you don't score your chances you'll get hit in this league and we simply are not clinical, not remotely close to it.

    New season, same old shite!

Yet again United fold under pressure in a game that they really should have won.

Generally played okay but we failed to put Brighton under constant pressure allowing a bang average Brighton side to come away with 3 points.

    'Created' ?

The most simple pass across the box to 2 wide open players. He put way too much on it for some stupid reason. That was a simple Zirkzee tap in and he fecked it up.
Yeah I thought that too, unless he was aiming for Garnacho?

Should have just been rolled in front of Zirkzee to slide in for an easy goal. No idea how they cocked it up so badly.

Criminal 2 goals to concede. The last one was mad because Brighton did everything right with that move and it was so predictable, even my dog called it.

The only positive I can say is that our defence learn from it.

Why would you take off your CB in with 10 minutes left. He was playing well. What was the point?

Bruno created what should have been the winner for us. Got subbed. We have not played any football since.

ETH seems to be really managing minutes for fitness rather than need. Bruno coming off, Maguire getting subbed etc.

In almost every level of football center back is never subbed unless you have to. He seems to either trying to manage Maguires minutes or more likely building up De Ligts.

Bruno getting subbed is likely about his shorter pre-season. It feels like a big risk considering how lacking the replacement is.

Absolutely wild though that we legitimately don’t have anyone to bring in for Mainoo or Casemiro. Collyer would have been better for the final 20mins just from an energy perspective.

I do wonder if there has to be an issue with the manager as well when a team has a losing mentality. The way we are dependent on moments, the way our level rises and falls, how in key moments we tend to come up short.

No it wasn't. Shouldn't have taken Bruno off. Should gotten rid of Mainoo of Case. Bruno has the best physique of all of them, keep him on. With Mount we were very average. We need to play with a striker.

Average? We were controlling the game, pressing and winning the ball up high. We were let down by Amad and Rashford.

As soon as he took Mount off we became wide open. He didn't even put Zirkzee upfront, he put Rashford which is laughable in itself.

Amad was the key to that move.

Bruno played a pass across the box. That's all.

Bruno also spent the entire first half spamming the ball about and doing nowt.

He should have come off at HT (with Rashford) and Mount should have stayed on (if fit)

We'll never move beyond the Ole era of looking half decent on the backfoot counter but super vulnerable and having no control whilst we rely on those two to create and sustain attacks.

You say we weren't any kind of attacking force afterwards but we are rarely any type of attacking force in 90% of games whether he's on the pitch or not. It's insipid

Brighton deserved the win, no “luck” whatsoever. However we got to this point is the subject of another thread, but today we never looked like a side that was inevitably going to beat this opponent.
