Is it me or does LVG now completely hate Ashley Young :lol:, after relying on him so much last season he's now just completely left rotting on the bench.

Well, Carrick certainly can't complain of anyone getting in his way - allowing him the role of sole playmaker. Fellaini won't be sitting deep (or at least he shouldn't be).

Defensively it looks suspect to say the least with that midfield partnership.

Hopefully better going forward again with Martial/Mata.

Wow, that must be one of the least experienced line-ups we've ever fielded. Ignore the goalie and midfield 3, and the other 7 have got about 40 premier league matches between them!

Bournemouth are also a team riddled with injuries of key players. Their defence is suspect and not enough quality going forward as Gradel and Wilson who were meant for big things are out with long term injuries. We have an inexperienced back four, but Varela has hit the ground running and McNair is competent. We have been better in attack in our last two games, so I'm optimistic.
Young doesn't score or assist, without a good left back like Shaw to link up with, he's almost useless. CBJ has done well in his cameos so credit to LVG to sticking with him.

Just want to add I am genuinely sorry for the lads who would've travelled to Bournemouth for this. It's a long way to go to watch Louis-ball.

At least wait until the game is finished. The front four could play some good stuff today and it's always exciting to see youth play. Even if you have doubts at the same time.

Young isn't as good as he's made out to be on here. He produces very little. He's a decent squad player and I thought he might get a game today but it's not outrageous than Memphis plays over him.

Why hasn't Pearson or Rothwell made the bench? Inexcusable.

(Not serious. I don't know who half these people are.).

I literally do not care about that.

Memphis was always going to go through rough patches, and I'm happy that LVG has tried to nurture him a bit, and stuck with him longer than needed and only took him out of the firing line when his confidence was shot and needed to be taken out of the limelight.

We already know Young isn't good enough, and I'm more than happy to give youngsters who might be a chance over Young.
Why? Because his name is Ashley Young and not some foreign import? He displaced the PL record signing from the side. And you're happy he was dropped for a player who did feck all to make that spot his and wasn't even reinstated when it went tits up?

I don't even understand where the last paragraph is coming from. Knowing he isn't good enough. Happy we are giving chances to kids who might become better. Remind me, are we playing the last few games with the title already in the bag or are we a side struggling to score goals and in a dog fight?

Can top the league (until tomorrow) if we win this.

    Don't fecking bottle it again.

Oh hold up, never mind. Leicester have a better GD than us.

Oh hold up again, City win anyway. Dammit.

If the kids manage to get a win out of this, they'll deserve a hell of a lot of credit. Average starting age of 21 is ridiculous.

I mostly hate van Gaal for his stubbornes, but if he seriously thinks Fellaini is good cm then he just forgot his football and should be sacked as soon as possible. I am quite sure he rates Fellaini higher than Moyes did.

Would love it, just love it if we are top of the league after this especially considering the media coverage of the club this week.

We'd have to win 6-0 for that to happen

Anyone else thinks that Fellaini has found the picture that Rooney uses to blackmail LvG?

We're talking about Ashley Young ffs.

He's one of the most average attackers I've seen at United and he's 30 years old. Yes, well done him, he managed to keep a player who didn't want to be here, wasn't trying and was unable to pass the ball two yards to a team-mate out of the side. Di Maria was so bad by the end I reckon you or I might have had a chance in doing that.

I'd much rather give Memphis a chance who is the future than stick with Young.

Thought Schneiderlin would be in .But probably not fully fit .Oh well let's get on with it 1-0 United.

Should have gone with 3 in the middle with Schneiderlin to give extra protection to the back 4.

    Gonna be a difficult game.

Got a new 50 inch tv. Hopefully United will make it worth it.

Anyone else thinks that Fellaini has found the picture that Rooney uses to blackmail LvG?
Reminds me of the rumor that the mafia had a picture of the FBI-director Hoover having an erotic moment with his male assistant or something, leading to the FBI-director denying the mafia's existence. Rooney and Fellaini clearly have Lucky Luciano as their idol.

Nothing too surprising in that line-up besides Young being left out. Nice to see Jones and Scheiderlain back on the bench, but Van Gaal would never throw them in from the start. That defense and Fellaini in midfield though.

I think this game is going to be unpredictable, but maybe not for the right reasons. I envisage a lot of arse twitching

Nah, we can't have such a slow midfield...

Why? Because his name is Ashley Young and not some foreign import?
By all accounts he's on 120k a week since he got here so he gets paid more than most of those foreign imports and you look at his stats and he's bang average.
