    I’m actually more confident about this game than the Brighton match - we are going to be under the kosh loads but our strengths will be speed on the attack.

    This isn’t a great Bayern team.
    This isn’t a great Utd team.

    Maguire hasn't travelled to Munich. Apparently 'injured'. At this rate we will have more potential first team players injured than actually fit.

    Strange, isn't it, how all these 'injuries' are occurring while the club is such turmoil.
     
    Not very confident at all, long night ahead not expecting much at all. Team picks itself bench will be sparse and nothing to look forward to. I was looking forward to CL after our season last year . I'm not now after the start. 3-0 .. that's another 3 conceded.

    That will get overrun like crazy. Eriksen and Casemiro in the middle doesn't work unless you play very defensive. Not enough legs.

    Bayer Leversken had a great game plan, took a while to settle, but when they did, they were very unfortunate not to win (last Friday). Their No 9 (Boniface) was an absolute handful... he can play, but just lost his head in front of goal! But he worked his backside off, worked for the team, didn't stop, and ran their centre half pair a little ragged. Can Rasmus approach the game in the same way? I hope so.

    But we have to play... not just seek to defend. I hope Eriksen starts.

    We are more or less one injury away from playing without real senior substitutes. Amazingly sad.

    A draw would be something extraordinary. Hope Hojlund can produce some magic! A Rooney debut!

    Desperate measures for desperate times, but there may be some logic in starting Martial but only if ETH subs him off at the beginning of the second half (in light of the 20% effort Martial will inevitably put in) for Hojlund, who will have the first half to survey how Bayern are setting up (think Scipio at Zama) to prepare himself for what would likely be a second half of Bayern defending their three goal lead.
     
    have to go back to a normal RW. Just give pellistri a chance or something.
    Also please no mctominay. Id rather see us crash and burn with one of the youngsters like gore or hannibal vs the same old story.

    I think I said it a few years ago under Ole on this forum that I wanted you guys back in the CL so we could have nights like those again. The strength of your team isn't yet there to be blunt, but even now it tingles my stomach, just seeing the fixture again. The game against united in 99 was when I became a Bayern fan, it's common for people in my country to have 2 teams, one domestic and one foreign. Most of my fellow countrymen went with United as Ole was with you along with Johnsen and Berg, I thought Bayern were the better side at my low age and followed them. Looking forward to tomorrow.
     
    We couldn't be any less prepared for this game.

    You never know what can happen or how things will go. But, based on all forms of logic and reasoning, we should get pumped in this game. Would absolutely take a draw in a heartbeat.

    How many minutes we going before Martinez gets injured and Evans has to come on.
     
    On average we have a better chance against this Bayern side than City. Sadly injuries and all hell breaking loose this season means we’ll get destroyed anyways I imagine.

    We’ve beaten better sides in Europe but that was long ago now. The United of old would easily put this United team to the sword too.

    Remember a decade ago when we were feared by everyone in Europe? I miss that.

    That video is a really nice touch by Bayern. It both makes me happy and saddens me the way Bastian clearly loves United. He was treated appallingly by Mourinho when he was here. I wouldn't blame him for hating us tbh. A class player and a class act.

    Our current team is not worthy of the historic rivalry of this fixture. I'm dreading this game, to be honest :lol: Hopefully we can find some character and not just fold like we usually do when we play away against anyone who can vaguely kick a football in a straight line.
     
    It will be telling I think. If we play like we can't get up for this, a Champions League away game against one of Europe's greats, then something is pitifully wrong. Casemiro for one, who has such a lauded history in the competition, won't be wanting to be embarrassed. It should be a trigger. It could be a scalping, but I have a feeling we will at least turn up this time.

    Performance>>>>Result in this one, and for gods sake no more injuries before the weekend.
