There needs to be some serious investigation into how so many of our players have gotten injured so early in the season. It can’t be a coincidence. Too many games played last season? Too much work done in pre season? I don’t know but it surely can’t just be bad luck? Liverpool went 3 seasons or so without one of their first team players picking up a serious injury, if we had a similar level of consistency fitness wise we would have had a much better start to the season.

    Ulreich
    Laimer - Kim - Upamecano - Davies
    Goretzka - Kimmich
    Sane - Muller - Gnabry
    Kane

    According to Kicker.

That - or Mazraoui plays for Laimer. And Musiala plays for either Müller or Gnabry.

Casemiro for one, who has such a lauded history in the competition, won't be wanting to be embarrassed. It should be a trigger. It could be a scalping, but I have a feeling we will at least turn up this time.

Casemiro's "lauded" history includes a 1:6 in Munich with Porto... in 2015 when he was there on loan. Bayern's midfield trio was Alonso, Thiago Alcantara and Müller that night with Lahm and Götze being the wingers.

It's not just us though. Other clubs are picking up injuries too. Chelsea everyone knows. City also have Grealish, KDB, Stones, Kovacic and Silva(got injured today) out.

It's probably have to do with the amount of games played last season with the World Cup in the middle.

I think increasing injuries is also due to the counterpressing intensity. Everyone wants to press and close down opponents constantly. With that style, eventually there comes a cost.

Bayern 2-0. Kane and Kim who should've signed for us with the goals.

Yeah you just know they both have a big say to really rub salt into the wound. Damn why couldn't we have got that takeover sorted or you know not bought Mount and refused a duel offer for M&M

Perhaps it is time to see if Martinez can do a job playing just in front of the centre backs. It might play to his strengths more.

I don't think we can go into this one with a flat back four. We need better cover than in the Brighton game, where we were so open.

Ideally Amrabat will end up doing that job but if Lisandro can do it, it will be a bonus.

In scared. My only hope is that we seem to always have Kane in our pocket (but without Shaw and AWB that seems a lot less likely) and so far Bayern hasn't been very impressive. In other words, they ll probably turn up against us and blow us away. I just hope to see some renewed motivation by the lads because if you can't come out to play in a CL against one of the perennial power house teams you need to get your wages cut.

Harry Kane is undoubtedly rubbing his hands, and probably something else, in glee at the prospect of having a go at our feeble back line and dodgy keeper.

Don’t play McTominay they’ll realise how shite he is and drop their interest

Considering reports of a different role for Rashford

    Onana
    Dalot Lindelof Martinez Reguillon
    Casemiro McTominay
    Bruno
    Rashford Hojlund Garna

    Id like to see

    ———-Onana———-
    Dalot Lindelof Reguilon
    ———Martinez————
    -Casemiro—Bruno—
    ———Eriksen——
    Rash—Hoj—Garnacho

Never going to happen but after last weeks disaster may aswell shake things up.

    No Maguire, Mount orAmrabat either.

But Liverpool did have an injury problem not long after Klopp went there and it was put down to the intensity of the training he wanted to get the players to be able to play the way he wanted. Not sure that applies to United now.

    Rash on the right?

I'd hit them on the counter and go

    ——---------—-Onana———-
    Dalot Lindelof Martinez Reguilon
    -----------Casemiro—Bruno—
    Pellistri—-—------------——Garnacho
    ----------—Hoj—-------Rash------

Not just Bayern were are competing against tonight, it's also the BDL.

Finally, we're back where we belong. Doesn't matter if we lose or win today, I just want to watch a good game.

This is an awful team and formation

I am actually scared for tonight, I cant see anyway we coming away without a sound beating.
I am not one for doom and gloom and try not to predict a defeat, but I don't see us even close to winning tonight.

Just go with basics and play the best team in the best formation we have:

    Onana

    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Licha
    Reguilon

    Casemiro
    Bruno
    Eriksen

    Garnacho
    Hojlund
    Rashford

The bench is very thin but if we play well we may be able to bring on fresh legs in Pellistri, Hannibal, even put McT in a 10 (where he's actually not bad with long balls punted up and knockdowns).

Ideally plan to rotate some players out after 65 minutes.

Bayern have won something like there last 30+ CL games at Home.

    United squad is depleted.

So lets not all shit the bed if the result isn't great.

Just try to enjoy the match.

    Thankfully.

The enormous, glaring, problem with your plan is that it means playing Maguire and Lindelof at CB together. Which, unless you've only just recovered from a 3 year coma, you should know isn't nearly good enough.

Excited for this. Yeah we may get beat but that's football. Champions league nights against the very best clubs doesn't get much better.

Is Mount and Varane with the squad? I know they were training yesterday or is it too soon for them?
