    Chelsea are doing alright and probably have a better chance than Arsenal. Arsenal always bottle it near the end anyway.
     
    I'm expecting sporting vs city kinda match where we don't have a lot of possession but might surprise them. Need to bury the chances when we get them.
     
    Arsenal will absolutely no way want to, nor afford to drop points in this one. Its going to be a really interesting game - I have a sneaky feeling that these players are beginning to get their mojo back (If they ever had one) and I can see us getting the 3 points here against an Arsenal side that are now under huge pressure to win.

    I also don't think the league is as sewn up as people think. A couple of poor results for Liverpool can make a huge difference, and with the strength of the teams this season, that wouldn't surprise me at all.

    You're quite right mate, I've made peace with this in the knowledge that, if someone had told me in 1990 Liverpool would win 2 titles in the next 35 years, I'd have taken that all day long!

    Exactly, we need the 3 points as much as any other team. If Arsenal want to challenge for the league, they shouldn't have been cowards Vs Liverpool and played for a draw.

    I really hope we can win this game, it would be the perfect start to Amorims reign.
     
    Very tough match but I have more faith of getting a result then I did under the last manager.

    Feels like lots of players are in good form right now, we've done well in a relatively easy run of games which is important.

    Perfectly described how I feel before this match. Arsenal atm are a better team than us and I won't be surprised if we lose, I will be pissed off ofc(as you do when we lose, under ETH I was more apathetic but that's for several reasons).

    But I really do feel we have a better chance to get a good result under Amorim and also how he got us to play and suddenly gotten several players in good form. So I'm looking forward to this.
     
    I think Maguire comes in. Amorim spoke about Everton being big physically. Arsenal are dominating at set plays and maguire starting over Shaw may be required?
     
    Rasmus or Zirkzee I wonder. I might be tempted to play the same attack with just Ugarte coming in for Mainoo. I don't trust Casemiro but his ability on set pieces might be key.

    Only if at RCB - then Mazraoui plays instead of Dalot at LWB. We can’t put Maguire vs Saka as an LCB
     
    I can't believe some fans are happy to lose this because it helps Liverpool. I could half understand it under ETH but under Amorim it is batshit.

    I have read all 3 pages of this and not seen 1 post saying I hope we lose so Liverpool dont win the league...

    Where are you getting this from? Unless it is your opinion?

    Wouldn’t be at all surprised with a defensive/counter attacking approach in this game. It’s been a good tactic in the past when going away to Arsenal.

    Arsenal will be odds on to win this, they've picked up recently after a dodgy spell. We could have beaten them last season, albeit for the slenderest of an offside decision, but yes, setting up as a counter attacking team would probably be the way to go. Rashford tends to score against Arsenal, so I could understand if he played as the striker, and possibly Garnacho as well, with Bruno.
    Ugarte should start, with Shaw coming in for Martinez.
     
    Tough to call the team again I'd say. I reckon Hojland is nailed on to play after having a rest yesterday. I think he might be tempted by Bruno deeper so he can play Garnacho and Rashford for the counter threat. Shaw to come in for Martinez and I have a sneaky suspicion he might prefer Maguire over De Ligt if he feels he's fully fit and up to it, to help with set pieces.
     
    The more I think about this game the more I think Zirkzee needs to play, because his dropping deep allows that space for Rashford to run constantly without being tasked with normal striker play.

    I'd be tempted to put Bruno at CM next to Ugarte to allow him to get the ball deeper. Could play Rashford and Garnacho on either side of Zirkzee as well as an option. Probably wouldn't try and press Arsenal hard right now, we don't have the players to do it well enough and we'll probably get spanked if we try. Wingbacks pick themselves currently, Shaw at LCB obviously.

    Biggest issue will be set pieces. We absolutely don't have the units to compete with them in the air, but playing both Maguire and MdL is just asking to get roasted at the back

    Despite bagging a couple of goals, I don't think Zirkzee would be the right choice here. Bruno might have a knock, so if it's worse than it looks I'd just go with Mount to replace him.

    Don't expect us to win here, but if we can come away with a draw and beat Forest, Plzen it'll be a very good start for Amorim given the (seemingly) forced chopping and changing on top of minimal training sessions. I'll be very content if we can be starting next year in the mix with the top 6~ and being on track for automatic qualification into the Europa League knock out phase. I'd fancy us to have a better second half of the season than the first, so every chance we can still make something of this campaign. We really aren't far off in terms of points... It's just whether Amorim can get this squad performing closer to the level compared to what it cost!
     
    Can't play Hojlund in this. He can't keep the ball and his record against the big sides is so poor.

    We're going to be on the back foot in this and we need a forward who is capable of launching a counter and Zirkzee is more capable of that as we saw with the ball to Amad. Hojlund doesn't have that sort of vision.

    Neither are great choices but Zirkzee is more suited here, I think.

    half dead Shaw pushing up and Dalot tracking Saka is the stuff of nightmares.

    Amorim will defo go Case/Ugarte in my opinion. I'll only be concerned if it's a battering, I don't think their squad is that amazing but they should really beat us given how we've been playing and there are players still learning this system/making mistakes.
     
    Going to be very tough, Arsenal seem to have clicked into gear recently.

    Also think the game has come a little too early for the new manager, but we go there with confidence.
     
    Do we have anyone who can occupy/nullify Odegaard? I know they have talent through the team but surely limiting him would be a good start.

    We can and must: Hojlund will help with defensive headers at set pieces as well, and he comes off 2G+A game and a week’s rest

    Exactly. We can't keep thinking about Liverpool, they're a formidable side, have been for years now, and will win the title regardless. We need to concentrate on getting our own act together for the time being.

    They are doing very well but they aren't champions yet.
     
    Tactically we have to nullify Odegaard and we'll come away with at least a point I think.
