  • If we afford them the opportunities on the break we gave to Everton then this could by very ugly tonight. I’m convinced myself that this will be a 3/4-0 affair but as long as he sticks with his system and principles then I’m onboard. We know this will be a rough ride. Oddly, I think Antony at LWB is the call tonight.

    But it’s less of a risk than starting a pair of de Ligt and Maguire together - it can’t be done against Arsenal away.
     
    If Maz doesn't play tonight it's because Amorim is protecting him from public vocal provocation on the same day that the story broke.

    Just our luck that Martinez, Mainoo and Shaw aren't available, and that Mazraoui had a hell of a day for this to drop.

    Mind you, Arsenal have no problems playing T Piddy.

    If hes fit he'll play, we don't have many options
     
    Seeing progress already with Amorim. We'll lose this one and the scoreline could get ugly as we're not good going forward and still staying defensively solid. Arsenal will punish that, but if we make good attacks and look dangerous at stages then I'm ok with that for now.

    If he's not injured, Mazraoui will play
     
    This could get proper hairy if Arsenal go at us straight from the kick off. If they get an early goal then I see them continuing to attack. Could be full on.

    However, if we counter - and I say that because I don't see us keeping much possession (yet) - and nab the first goal, then it could be game on.

    Hoping it's full on entertainment and we somehow come away with all 3 points. Not expecting that though.
     
    Feels like a bit of a free hit tonight.

    Obviously we’ve had little time inbetween matches and Amorim is wise enough to know there will be a come down

    Let’s see how we get on with a new system against a strong opposition. Hoping for a win of course…but would be good to see some patterns of play through the middle using the 2x10s into feet. Everything so far has been out wide - which is completely understandable given the amount of time he’s had and players adapting to a new system
     
    We need Mazraoui tonight, I get that people are upset with his views but he's our best player at the moment and this is one of the toughest games of the season.
     
    I'd go something like:

    Onana
    De Ligt - Maguire - Mazraoui
    Amad - Ugarte - Casemiro - Dalot
    Bruno - Rashford
    Holjund

    I'd almost guess Casemiro in defense since Amorim has been bringing him on in that role but with Mainoo out we really don't have another option in midfield.

    Maybe, but in reality nobody knows what level Yoro is at.
    And for him personally, a poor debut could get inside his brain in a bad way. Especially if he gets the the feeling that he is out in deep water.

    I’m not saying that he would 100% fail, but the cost of he does is high.
     
    I'm hearing rumours of Dalot at RWB and Malacia at LWB but I can't imagine these are true. Surely it must be Amad at RWB and Dalot at LWB.

    Starting Malacia would be crazy - he looked well off the pace defensively against Bodo/Glimt, and I don't see him making enough improvement in one week to do a decent enough job on Saka.
     
    I am expecting them to beat us fairly comfortably, we’ve come up against them at the wrong time. These away games against the top sides are very difficult without any width on the left and our lack of mobility in midfield.
