Mata's role as an extra midfielder worked quite well initially. Tuanzebe and Jones have been great, so have Herrera and Carrick.
As usual, Rooney is the limiting factor. It's not that he's not trying, he's simply done at this level. I hope Lingard comes on for him in the second half.

Yeah, we have done pretty well. Tuanzebe is having a great game so far. Herrera and Carrick sitting are minimizing the chances and threat to the defensive unit and Smalling/Jones are actually looking good as a pair.
We need to be more effective on counter, but I can see the reason why he kept Pogba/Rashford on the bench to bring them fresh in the 2nd when Arsenal most likely will become even more adventurous.
