So my new s8 is up and running and now we better win as I can't have a new bad luck phone.

The leaked team is what it was always going to be with Jones and Lingard playing on Sunday.

Let's wish Smalling forget his " Chris " version and turns to " Mike " today.

Got a bad feeling guys. The dutch guys in work been filling me in about Ajax this season. Fast, young, strong pressing, lots of goals in the team. Let's hope our tempo is up to the task

Ohhh! It's a shame there're no fa cup games at the moment.

Ajax have now arrived, teams expected to be announced officially very shortly.

I give up I can't handle the nerve, can't talk can't do anything my heartbeats so quickly, we better win.

Mata as a sub would be more useful if we're chasing a result, Lingard if we're ahead and want to counterattack.

I see Herrera as more valuable for his defensive game, he can create (that great pass for Rashford against Chelsea for example) but I don't think that's what Mou asks him to do. Carrick has a superior passing range than either and will take pressure off our makeshift defense. I don't trust Fellaini receiving the ball under pressure and, given the 5 second press, he will have to do that a lot.

Curious to hear why Fellaini would represent a better chance of beating Ajax's press give he is about as immobile as Carrick and can't really function as a get out ball if in CM?
The thing about Carrick is he's always preferred to defer to a more creative player if he was played next to one. It used to be Scholes and now it's Pogba. Whereas Herrera is more independent and his mobility also lets him get into positions where he can create more than Carrick can. I can think of loads of chances (and goals) that Herrera's created, I can barely think of any for Carrick this season.

It does depend on where Fellaini plays. If he plays deeper and people are passing to him in midfield he's not going to cope with the press well. If he's going to be sprinting up the pitch whenever we win the ball and it's 2-3 passes before a punt to him, I think he'll do just fine. Once he receives the aerial ball his physicality tends to allow him to keep it under pressure.

Just depends overall on the tactics we choose. I suspect we'll look to play on the counter so I prefer Fellaini. I don't think Carrick copes that well with intense pressing anyway.

Well, Lingard and Martial would do fine on tired Ajax players in the second half. Maybe it's a good setup, but I don't like Blind there as a CB.

Very nervous. The tension of the final is one thing, but knowing that a loss means no CL and potentially means we can't sign certain players leads to added pressure.

Now idea what to expect from Ajax so I'm antisipating a Barca lite 2009/11 side that will run rings around us.

I wish Smalling was banned for this game, he'll be Ajax's best player.

I'm sure Jose and Ed have 2 plans for the transfers according to the result today, since we gambled everything on one game.

But sure winning this will make next season much easier for everyone not just for transfers, and will ease the pressure from Jose and players heavily.

I think I remember Mou specifically mentioning Mata's experience of playing in the EL final before when he was coming back from that injury? He's played in a few other finals too, including the CL. I suspect Mou will opt for that experience tonight given it's something that a fair few of our key players tonight lack.

    Starting line-ups

Confirmed #mufc XI: Romero, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford

Yeah, that's what I was saying, he saves it for the cups and finals, specially.
Yeah obviously that's what he does...

Teddy Sheringham scored in the FA Cup and Champions League final it didn't suddenly make him a cup final specialist.

That's what everyone's told us they are, but after beating 2009 Barca, in Celta Vigo, this Barca side should be no issue.
