He doesn’t fancy running so much
Here until June 2027 on 150 grand a week, signed an extension in 2023 under Erik.Guy needs to leave, I don’t know how long he’s got left on his contract but it’s another Phil Jone situation.
Shaw makes a case as to why all player deals in professional football should be pay as you play or triggered only after a certain threshold number of games.
Shaw’s wage is ridiculous when you consider the cuts United are making to food portion sizes in the canteen.
My guess would be he's done and finally gone this summer. He won't get anywhere near Amorims plans this close to the end of the season. Another one who's missed close to 300 games for us, let that sink in. Another one that outstayed his welcome. Mason Mount step on up and take the reigns.Do we have definitive proof of life for this guy?
Honestly, the only types of injuries that should be resulting in an absence this long are snapped legs and tendon tears.
What the hell kind of injury does he even have? Have the club just shut him down for the season without officially saying so?
See him returning in late season dead rubber, come up with a key pass and a corner that ends up headed straight into the keepers hands and people will be back talking about world class and how we might be better off than we thought with him back in the team next year.My guess would be he's done and finally gone this summer. EDIT - Just looked, he's missed 330+
EDIT - Just looked again, £200k until 2027. Jesus christ.

I could be wrong but as far as I'm aware it's muscle injuries that have stopped him playing for basically a year. Not sure how that's even possible. No broken bones or ligament damage/tearsDo we have definitive proof of life for this guy?

He surely is part of the problem, and offers no solution at all.I sometimes feel sorry for him in a sense that the horror leg break probably caused a lot of these other issues. I remember seeing a recent photo of his leg and it looked so messed up still.
But then I think about him rushing back to play for England, something that I’m sure was a poor idea from the clubs point of view, and I can’t help but think he’s got to be part of the problem himself.

The problem being that he doesnt give a sh*t about the club.
He looks like he is on benefits, and wont leave social security (mu version) until 2027.
Was he injury prone before that horrific leg break? My memory might be playing tricks on me but I thought he was quite reliable before? He was injury prone from the minute we signed him.
The leg break was terrible but even without that, he's just one of those players that's constantly injured.
I remember thinking we got absolutely robbed during his first season with us.
I also think him rushing back to play injured for England and completely crocking himself In the process almost warrants contract cancellation.
Yes, he was completely injury prone even in his first season for us and seemed like a disaster of a transfer at the time considering the fee.Was he injury prone before that horrific leg break? My memory might be playing tricks on me but I thought he was quite reliable before?
He's played 1.5 seasons of full first-team football by the time he was 18. There are pretty much no teenagers that wouldn't have to pause after that.Yes, he was completely injury prone even in his first season for us and seemed like a disaster of a transfer at the time considering the fee.
He didn't pause, he was injured for over 3 months of the season. Something that would continue throughout his whole career for us.He's played 1.5 seasons of full first-team football by the time he was 18. There are pretty much no teenagers that wouldn't have to pause after that.
This is what happens to nearly every youngster that is immidiately put in the first team for a season or more. Most of them get over it in their 20s, but most of them don't come close to leg amputation before that.He didn't pause, he was injured for over 3 months of the season. Yes, his first season was very underwhelming. I was convinced we were robbed based on the hype.I remember thinking we got absolutely robbed during his first season with us.

Unbelievable they've given him a £50k a week pay rise in the last fortnight.EDIT - Just looked again, £200k until 2027. Jesus christ.
A fit Luke Shaw is the best LCB at the club and it's not even close, has the physical aspects that Martinez doesn't.Sad to say but he's completely irrelevant in this setup as well even if he does get back fit really. No chance that a player with his injury history approaching 30 will be able to play at LWB, so he can only play LCB which is arguably the position Utd look most covered.
Based on what exactly? The guy looked distraught when he last got injured.Yeah I got the sense of sudden urgency to get fit for England in the Euros. He was still injured when selected and rushed back for their Semi Final game. What the feck were the club thinking about all this? It was a complete joke and didn’t seem to adhere to any sort of recovery plan. But where has this determination been for us? He has to be part of the problem.
I do have some sympathy for the fact he’s injured so much, but that’s about it. If I was as talented as he is I’d be absolutely gutted how it’s gone. I don’t know, maybe he is. But the money should be a byproduct of playing for us, I’d have been hoping to make my name as a United great, an all time LB if I were in his shoes. So I’d be absolutely gutted that the opportunity was taken away. I’m sceptical whether he thinks like this. I think he’s probably more gutted he’s not played for England more.
What exactly are you suggesting he does? Are you another fan wanting him to donate money to the multi-billionaire Glazers?People go on about how he still needs paid etc but it really is a disgrace. From the point of view that the club are struggling financially I'd like to see people like him who do not contribute to the cause act upon it. imagine how much he'd endear himself by a gesture of goodwill, which he could easily afford.
