Day 7 | Slovenia vs Serbia | Denmark vs England | Spain vs Italy

That was like watching us at times.

Southgate would really be a perfect fit for us. Just not in a way anyone here (including myself) wants.

He actually said that about Phillips? My oh my
It's one of those sounds worse than it actually is though. He's had 4 games to work with Mainoo and Wharton - they weren't real options in November. It's mismanagement that he's trying TAA in there 2 games in a row after the first was already an unmitigated disaster. That he still doesn't have a complete picture of his team 2 games into the Euros, but there are mitigating circumstances and still time to fix things. If not, the next guy will get the chance to fail with England ;)

I just looked up the words to the Italian national anthem and it turns out the first 8 lines are exactly what they sound like:

Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!

Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!
Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia! Ee-tal-ia!

Why are no Spanish players singing anthem?

…..they don’t know any of the words?

Just look at the difference in delivery in the anthems. Italian players are passionate and going to war. Spanish players looking timid, scared and refusing to sing.

Declan Rice is the biggest negative for this team….he drags the team back and just doesn’t appear to have the level required for international football. I know he’s great for Arsenal but he is not good enough at International level.

Today's Rice performance was one of the worst I've seen from him, and I've seen alot of him obviously.

With that being said he does need help in there, TAA is a pointless experiment, and Gallagher whilst competent isn't adding anything that Rice isnt doing already

You've got to give one of the young lads a go. With Rice making sure he is covering any small mistakes that a young lad may make at first.

How much would Calafiori cost I wonder? Super talent

€30-35m when italian teams approached Bologna (Juventus in primis, were linked a lot last month but now theyare more focused to Douglas Luiz and Koopmeiners deals).
So probably £40m for English clubs

I'm loving the contrast between the two anthems

Italian players absolutely belting out their anthem while the Spanish players look on respectfully during their's

Wouldn't be a bad option for us at all tbh. Better defender than the others we've been linked with imo (though Branthwaite is also good).

"19 on his back, 16 on his.. birth certificate"

Where do ITV find these galaxy brain commentators?

Williams looks dangerous on the left. That's twice in the first few minutes he's got in behind Italy.

"19 on his back, 16...... on his birth certificate," made me crack up a lot more than it should have done.

I’d go Foden personally but yeah, one has to go for me. I thought it would be ok against weaker teams but it’s already getting exposed, he’s got to make a tough decision to ensure we win the next game and go through top.
It's a toss up between the two tbh. However if Kane is playing, there needs to be runners out wide. There were too many players who wanted the ball at their feet

Cucurella will cheer me up after that crappy England game.

Has he actually been good for you guys?

He's look much more committed than previous seasons and seems to be switched on but there's just something about him that doesn't inspire confidence.
