Shift Bellingham to 8, Foden to 10 and bring probably Eze into LW.

Stop bringing Gallagher on in any circumstances and use Mainoo or TAA as the change option. Also get Palmer on at RW if you are going to sub Saka.
You need Gordon on the LW. Eze will just cut inside and get in the way of Foden/Kane

Southgate on TAA: “It is an experiment, we know it’s an experiment and we have to try things because we don’t have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips”.

I mean there’s your answer. A manager who has one system and is stuck without a the players to play it. Clueless.

He’s got two naturally gifted CMs, comfortable on the ball, great passers and he’s choosing to play a right back.

I definitely agree but I'd say it's between Jude and Foden. I'd bench Jude tbh
I’d go Foden personally but yeah, one has to go for me. I thought it would be ok against weaker teams but it’s already getting exposed, he’s got to make a tough decision to ensure we win the next game and go through top.

Admitting you are experiitmenting IN A TOURNAMENT, should end his career. Now.

They've had two months knowong no calvin phillips, even if you pretend he is an ireeplacable player, and they are experimenting NOW. Seriously, its so unprofessional there should be no way back from it for anyone in the management team.

The man is a certified clown. As an American of Mexican ancestry I would be delighted to have either USA or Mexico play a tuneup match against any England side managed by Gareth Southgate.

He's drowning in talent and lamenting the absence of Kalvin Phillips. It's his job to find solutions and make hard choices.
And saying England are experimenting in a tournament that they were favourites to win. Not surprising that Kane just basically gave an interview saying the players aren’t sure what they are doing.

Southgate just genuinely said that England are struggling to replace Kalvin Phillips.
If only there were a young dynamic press resistant midfielder who was a brilliant passer in tight spaces.
Southgate is such a twat I'm speechless

Wild thing to say about a player like Phillips who at his best was nothing more than bang average. What a garbage manager

Has anyone ever sacked a manager mid tournament? Because we need to do it right now.

That Kalvin Phillips quote is genuinely embarrassing. Imagine being Mainoo or Wharton hearing that. Southgate is a complete fraud.

England also have the luxury of having John Stones, who is perfect to step into midfield, meaning that you can play a more offensive second midfielder.

There is a number of factors involved during the game, picking the best squad, getting the best out of players who you have for a limited time, tactics, responding to the other team, making effective subs, changing tactics in the middle of the game. To think its just players running around is silly.
It mostly comes down to who is fitter and who fecks up the least. It's a cup played under fairly extreme conditions for the players, in terms of pressure and fitness. Managers can feck up. They do it all the time. Sometimes it matters. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it matters, but not nearly as much as the players fecking up individually. Most of the time that

Consider: France won a World Cup final effectively in the first half by scoring 2 goals. Off a single shot - a penalty.

Then they lost another on penalties in which they hadn't even shown up for 80 minutes. They win in ET outright if Dibu Martinez doesn't pull off one of the most iconic saves ever

Declan Rice is the biggest negative for this team….he drags the team back and just doesn’t appear to have the level required for international football. I know he’s great for Arsenal but he is not good enough at International level.

Southgate is really auditioning for the United job. No organisation and synergy on the pitch and stupid comments.
Over to you Erik, show the bastard it is your job.
