Rashford considering his future...

Wait a minute, a player has to be low profile for what reason? All of those players work hard except current Rashford , Januzaj and Wilson. Even then, Wilson I think had injury issues.

There's a lot of projection there. Who cares if a player is low profile? What the hell does that prove?

It affects their attitude and the will to work harder and improve their footballing skills? If you have a slightly sense of management in an organization you will know a company's culture affects productivity. Of course every club has high profile players (like we used to have ronaldo, beckham, rooney, rio who were very commercial and high profile) but they only did so after they were recognized as world class players. It is in contrast to like of Brandon Williams and Januzaj who think that they are Hollywood celebrities attending those boxing and NBA events even though they are still nobody in the football world.

PSG has all the stars in the world and it is their "made it" "celebrity" "arrogant" culture that make them a laughing stock in the champions league.

Should I be embarrassed for still liking and hoping for Rashford?

Did they forget one of the reasons Fergie sold Beckham to Madrid ?

I'm massively disappointed. People kept going about him as our own and the club has to protect him. Well, now let's reverse the situation so we get the entire picture, what if our own decides to deflect his responsibility back to the club where he thinks the recent performances are acceptable and the everyone HAS to respect him. How can you? firstly respect is earned. Secondly, he has the audacity to flirt with other clubs as well. That ruins his good image for me. Fine, off the field you are doing a gods work helping school kids. But inside the club that considers you as one of their own, like a family, this is how you behave. Traitorous act. Is this what family do to each other? I'm pretty sure the club has done nothing that caused the drop off in his performances. It's all his own doing.

Feeding a couple of million hungry kids only buys you so much time when people decide you turned your back on a half-chance against Aston Villa.

Ah yes, against one missed chance against Aston Villa months ago. It couldn't possibly be because he has been absolute shit for 2 years, while collecting 250k every week.

For a little while, Rashford ignored what was being shouted at him and then something was said that made him stop abruptly and turn towards his tormentor.

It's DailyMail, so no doubt this was paid for by his PR team. My God, we need to get rid of him as soon as possible. Just wow.

Has this actually been reported? Genuinely asking because it’s worrying if so.

There are multiple reports online about it, plus he's hinted at it in his blogs. But it's also been reported that he's a lazy player who thinks he's bigger than the club, and many suspect him as the leaker dressing room.

I guess it all comes down to what you choose to believe.

  Has he been watching his performance?
His off the field work has earned him the goodwill. British media will back him as long as they could.

Should I be embarrassed for still liking and hoping for Rashford?
Why should you feel embarrassed? We all hope he finds his form if he stays here. We are disappointed with the effort he has put in and his constant PR but its not a lost cause. He has time and skill to still recover from this

Certainly not sure that's true anymore. Just like with many of our other players, people make up their mind on here and want nothing more than to be right, to the point of taking absolute glee in the players they don't like failing, even if its bad for the team they claim to support.

Another article defending him, most likely paid for by his people.

Remember when Manchester United players were hated by the general media in the 90s?

All he does is carefully managed PR work. The moment form dropped, excuses galore.

I personally find the fan base talking about this PR thing very cringe

The guy who wrote about Rashford isn't working for Rashford- the guy is a well known sports journalist talking about so many different sports.

Agreed. I think people are just looking for anything they can grab to beat Rashford with. There's enough purely based on his performances without getting outraged over random opiniom pieces.

Who the feck do they think they are attending sporting events in their free time? It's outrageous

He’s quite clearly on the take from Rashford’s team, as are most of the top journalists. You’re naive to think otherwise, it’s more or less been proven at this point.

If you read Oliver Holt’s article, he says that United would be stupid to let Rashford go but England are right to drop him. Mentions his off field work should have no bearing on pitch yet gives zero footballing reasons why selling Rashford would harm United.

This was a clear PR piece and everyone who’s followed how our players off late would’ve been expecting it. For example, there were reports coming out how “Lingard has been extraordinary in training and teammates our surprised that he doesn’t start”. And Rashford has just taken a page out of his book. The worst fear of the likes of these players is that we’ll publicly put him up for sale and there will be zero interest which will shatter their PR fuelled valuation.

In his entire career, Rashford has never come close to being the best player in his position in the league. He hasn’t made himself first choice for England. Even in his best season, his stats actually covered other shortcomings in his game. Rather than become consistent over 90 mins while maintaining/improving his stats and playing like a senior fecking player, he has regressed to an unacceptable level.

And like the stereotypical post Fergie United player, he has responded how he knows the best, not on the pitch but indirectly through the media.

Truly naive take from that poster. You are a journalist which is not paid much and there is an opportunity to build connection with said player and $$$ involved of course you would make an article to defend him with the direction of his PR team (plus this also help doing his job in the first place !!!) . This applies to any field not just football. Jesus on the wheel sometimes I feel some posters in here never come out to face the real world.

No matter how much you post 'OMFGGGGG CAN'T BELIEVE HOW NAIVE PEOPLE CAN BE IT'S SO OBVIOUS' it doesn't make the point you're trying to make self evident. I agree that it's common for players and their PR teams to have relationships with journalists but these kinds of post which shout about how it's 'more or less been proven' without offering any actual, y'know, proof beyond the fact that the article paints Rashford in a sympathetic light are pointless.

Remids me of when Rooney was stinking out the place in his last days. Fine if its Manchester United's problem, when they eventually realised Rooney was ruining England they completely turned on him

I don't see this PR talk as much for players like Maguire or Wan Bissaka?

Should be a very simple thing the way people talk about the working jobs journalists have for players.

Maybe even Lingard should bring something up more often too.

What about all the other players like Lukaku back in the day or Pogba?

I'm concerned for the well-being of some United fans if Rashford gets a new contract.

A meltdown wouldn't even begin to describe it :p

Cause we dont see stuff about them regurgitated over and over again in the news when they played badly. Rashford had a shit perfomance ? Bohooo he need to overcome his natural shyness only for Ole to tell him to stop moaning. Another shit performance ? Need new contract ASAP, mistake to let the crown jewel of England to leave or sold. Another shit performance ? That shoulder and back injury from years ago. Another one ? Look, he fed the kids.

And rightly so.

We bemoan a drop in standards as a whole and say we must raise them if we want to get back to where we want to be, yet when the most obvious individual example of this is pointed out those doing the pointing are accused of all sorts of things.

There has been a million and one excuses for Rashford over the last 18 months. the mental health possibility the most distasteful of the lot. We are now at the point where it doesnt matter what is causing it, the reality is he isnt good enough. if he isnt good enough then replace him with someone who is. We wont challenge Liverpool and City until we reach that level of ruthlessness.

He and Maguire are getting contract extensions in the summer, maybe DDG too.

The only hope ETH is the manager and he tells them he has to get rid of them and they aren't suited for his football.

I have no shadow of a doubt he’ll get a new contract, just too expensive to replace him.

I think people have to brace themselves in for the inevitable.

There is talk of us going for the Sevilla goalkeeper, I don’t think we’ll extend David DeGea’s contract just let him run down the 18 months, he doesn’t warrant £345k anymore, even the club would see that.

Obviously, not all articles painting Rashford in a positive light is a PR stunt, but there's been quite a few of them, it's not that long ago when 3-4 journalists wrote very similar fluff pieces, all published at a similar time, mighty coincidence that. You'll do well to find similar cases of a footballer struggling this badly with form and getting the same type of positive articles in the media.

The backlash from Ole saying Rashford should focus on his football. After the sacking of Ole there was the articles about Ole apparently telling Rashford to stop moaning when all he wanted to do was improve as a footballer. The majority of the recent articles about Rashford tend to focus on "prefers playing on the left side", how he's a victim of how the club is being run, while not a single article focuses on his actual issues and why even the crowd at Old Trafford is less than impressed, how he genuinely looks like he'd rather do anything else than play football right now.

Offering feck all on the pitch combined with leaks about how even Liverpool are considering signing him, not entirely sure how anyone would expect that to be a welcomed combination by the fans. The people around Rashford are doing a shit job at managing him

Find the chain tacky but he's not prick for wearing it. You're too harsh.

Mediocre fotballer, massive letters spelling BW, then there is the chain itself. He does come off as a massive knob

I'm surprised this "leak" has gained so much traction in this thread. Never in a million years would Rashford join Liverpool nor would United even consider the option of selling him to them. There hasn't been any business between our two clubs in over half a century, that's not going to change any time soon.

I also think it's incredibly harsh to hold Rashford responsible for that ridiculous rumour. It's infinitely more likely that a bored journo set it for up clicks, he/she is probably laughing their ass off that it got so much attention.

Yeah, probably. I think we should sell him on and put the proceeds towards funding Halaand or Rice. You'd expect either of those two will have a big impact on the team.

To be fair, when I was in my early/mid teens I would have loved a customised chain. Thank God I didn't have money. I used to wear baggy jeans and oversized NFL tops even though I never watched a game of it.
