It's funny because every single player and coach at City is a money grabber. They have no academy products nor ties to Manchester. It is an oil regime club. Everyone goes to City because of the money. They bought where they are, it is not on the club's own merit.

The media narrative that claims otherwise is deluded as feck!
None of that matters. These guys (journalists) have been waiting years to really stick the knife into Manchester United. A lack of success, coupled with us being managed by Mourinho and the darling of football managing city, is the perfect storm for them.
They will continue to ejaculate over city for as long as possible.

If we do get Sanchez, as looks likely right now, it really does make so many of them look embarrassingly out of the loop. I mean even as recently as this morning they were all on Sunday Supplement saying he would go City.

That will probably be a big part of the resentment. They've been made to look clueless.
Spot on. They were even saying that if he doesn’t go to City now, he’ll see out the contract at Arsenal.

Yet tomorrow they’ll all be running ‘exclusives’ about how they know the ins and outs of the deal - wages structure etc.

Top five (outfield) players in the league are probably de Bruyne, Kane, Pogba, Sanchez and Hazard.

Whatever it costs, on paper it's worth it.
You forgot Ozil. He is simply one of best player in EPL alongside with De Brunye, Kane, Pogba, Sanchez, Salah and Hazard

I am getting excited that we are getting Sanchez this winter and Ozil in summer so we better make move on to Hazard Chelsea might considering sell in 2019 with a year left if rejected new offers from Chelsea. I'd rather see us weakening Chelsea, Arsenal and possibly other teams in EPL if it means more chance for us to win the league more, simply. Like what Bayern is doing to the league.

God dammit, why was that showing Sanchez's tweet as from today?!
I thought same, I was getting excited when it looks like he is tweeting farewell cos I assumed he officially left Arsenal and I doesn't understand that language, I went through just to find out it was 2015, really disappointed. :wenger::(:(:(

In amongst all the excitement here, may I just ask a question?

In the hypothetical scenario that we do sign Sanchez and Ozil, where would Lingard, Rashford and Martial play or fit into things?

Surely people would not actually want them to not play??

For the first time, I actually agree with the salty bastard.

I would explode if our manager sold our best players to a PL rival time after time like that.
It’s not really Wenger though is it? He doesn’t own the club, nor does he have any power to stop the player from leaving for free in summer. Getting 30m odd for a player who would certainly end up at a rival in 6 months is a good piece of business.

Nobody wants Rashford to be starting games at present. Football is also a squad game more than ever you need options.

Rashers would probably alternate with Martial (Probably on the wings too, if needs be) , Sanchez can play both Right and Left (R>L), Lukaku can spear head the attack. Ozil can do whatever he wants with that licence.

Well I'd imagine Sanchez on the right, Ozil at no.10, Martial on the left. Lingard and Rashford would become backup/rotation.

Are we really getting Alexis? Havn't read it all, but like everyone, probably, i thought he was City bound and we we're just a deflection for more money. What do you guys reckon the odds are now and what means this for OziL?

There was no reason to make that last sentence as confusing as it was.

Martial Lukaku Sanchez
Ozil Pogba (or just ozil and pogba in a 2 with matic instead)
Matic
Sandro (hopefully) Bailly Lindelof/Jones Florenzi

the fullbacks are just examples of good full backs with years in them still that we could get. We could line up like this in most games, and drop Martial or Ozil for tighter games. Theres no reason for Rashford and Lingard to start every, if not most games. They can be played in the cups and there are a lot of games in a season. That being said, I'd rather Dybala then ozil, but that would mean pogba would have even more defensive duties and a massive wage packet.

The last big piece of news was a highly regarded city journalist saying they'd pulled out of the deal.

That'll give us more depth in the squad, I mean we have seen that Lingard show that he is okay with being rotation/squad player and Sanchez will take pressure off on Martial and Rashford and let them developing in few years and ready to take over Sanchez when showing a sign of decline and ensure there would be competition in this position. I don't want passengers in the first XI if there's no competition to challenge for a position. Plus, we can cover in attacking position if one of them get injured.

What?? Nobody wants Rashford to be starting games at present???

Why the heck not?? He is a young, exciting, excellent player, why would anyone in their right mind not want to see Rashford start?

More importantly he is one that we have developed, there is that connection with him and the fans, that is just soooo puzzling why anyone would not wish to see him in the team!

Let’s just say he clearly needs a break.

called us "evil"

I can wrap my head around most pro-City arguments, but this is the hottest of hot take hills to die on. Of all the arguments in favour of the sugar daddy oil clubs, the biblical morality one is an almost admirable hail Mary pass.

It seemed an inevitability he would go to City. If we get him, it's a big statement from Jose and the club. He will improve us significantly, as he's exactly what the team is crying out for, and his assists will increase the goal return for Lukaku. A tremendous signing if he comes here.

Neither ozil nor Sanchez will be signed to play where martial and rashford play.

Sanchez will play behind the striker or on the right. We aren't signing him to play in a position where we're strong already.

Imagine the conversation...

"Guys we've signed Sanchez! We've got a starting 11 with Pogba, Sanchez, Matic and Rom in it!"

"That's great...but one problem..."

"What?"

"Which one of them do we bench we ensure Marcus Rashford starts?"

"...erm"

Have you watched Rashford over this season...? We all want him to succeed here, but you can't be going for titles and CLs with Rashford starting games in this type of form.

There'll be plenty of opportunities for him off the bench (his best role), or if that doesn't suit him, a loan to somewhere like Southampton, Watford, Everton, West Ham would be a sweet deal for him.

José's given him plenty of game-time, but he's shown that he shouldn't be starting, not at this level. Not yet anyway.

Because he's nowhere near good enough yet. I want to see him used to rotate in and out, be an impact player and develop normally. His current level is pretty far below someone who should expect a starting spot at a team like United.

Players, if good enough, will earn their place. All there is to it. Nobody gets a spot just because they're a youth player.

He's leaving on a free in the summer anyway. Their hands are tied.

So you think or believe that this form that you speak of, will be what he does for the rest of his career??

You don't just think that like every single other player, it is just that, a small patch that he will come out of the side, if anything better for it?

Wow, how quickly some people are to just chuck away and write off a player of immense talent!

The guy was if I am not mistaken third in the golden ball list of top young players, and people just want to see him not play??

Sorry, that for me is the totally wrong attitude to have here.

Seriously, who is this Adam Joseph guy? Has he had other successful scoops or something?

He has a gmail address on his profile and seems to have run a failed website for another sport. I'm not sure he's likely to have access to Alexis Sanchez's contract offer.

Saying that Rashford should be at United, getting opportunities off the bench is the wrong attitude to have?

So, you're saying that Marcus Rashford should be starting, and that you'd rather see Rashford starting than the signing Alexis Sanchez, and Rashford been used for rotation?

Guess we are some lucky bastards here in the US, tomorrow is a Holiday, while transfer business resumes as usual in the UK. A whole day to indulge in muppetry
Us self employed don’t take MLK day as it’s only a bank holiday. Work as usual for me.

Who's writing him off? We aren't saying he should be sold, he just shouldn't start at the moment if he isn't playing at the level required.
