The media would have been exploded if we batter everyone next season and winning the league for the first time since SAF retired, would they praise us? Hell, no, they would imply us as a villain and fear us that we may be back at the top and possible chance of dominance is so high because we're used to doing over nearly 30 years. I don’t think Salah has shown enough for him to be regarded as better than Pogba. He has already scored more in 20 apps for Liverpool this season than he did in 29 apps for Roma last season, in a much easier league, especially for wingers. I think he’s a very good player that has been in amazing form lately, but his true level is undoubtedly a notch below Pogba (who is arguably the weakest player in MG’s top 5) and he has to perform the way he’s doing now for more than half a season to get that stamp as a ‘world class’ player. Remember Papiss Demba Cisse? He scored around a goal a game for about half a season. It just shows that people can have purple patches for that long, and considering Salah’s statistics at Roma there’s good reason to believe that he’s not going to maintain his form throughout the season and in future seasons.
I’m not saying he isn’t good though. I think he’s a very good player and I’d love it if we had him. But he’s just not in that top 5 bracket imo.
