I just started watching the game 5 min ago.

What a player! Powerful shot with his weak foot. Strength, power, pace, skills... I can't believe he is just 18.

Don't like him. Charges around and does everything 200 miles per hour. Still young, though.

I avoid the word beast but this guy fits it pretty well. The very definition of massive potential.

I love this guy. Still needs polishing up (expected at 18), but you can just see he's going to be a phenomenal player. Got it all, but what impresses me the most is his drive and pressing.

Thiago, Vidal and Sanches could be a ridiculous midfield.

I didn't know anything about him so wasn't bothered when we missed out signing him but looking at him here we've missed a star.

Would've been a top signing for us. Exactly what we've been lacking. Energy and excitement in midfield. Watching Fellaini,Carrick ect trot around was painful to watch last season.

He looks like a very good player (reminds of a young Rooney for some reason). But IMO he's over reliant on his physique. Players like him usually are a knee injury away from being average. That being said Bayern have signed a very good player who could compliment Thiago and Kimmich in the near future.

Missed the massive deflection initially. Takes the shine away from what looked like a class goal. He has been pretty decent, best showing from him this tournament. His passing is still very erratic but have shown much more than a Andre Gomes.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Don't think that's the case at all. Most were very apprehensive about him.
From the Embolo thread (not quoting the posters as that's mean)....

"As talented as Martial IMO."

"If I was our manager, he would be my first signing."

"Martial Zlatan Embolo :drool::drool::drool:"

"Bloody hell. Looks special."

He did say MOST and from I read of the thread I agree

100% worth the fee Bayern spent according to Giggs...what went wrong then?

He's looked very good so far, will definitely be one that got away a few years down the line but hey ho. He's no Charni Ekengamene.

Do Bayern ever sign young players that turn out to be shit? Or does everything they touch turn to gold? For once It'd be nice to see them make a few cock ups like we have.

The Embolo thread is amazing... next big thing for a few pages, then as soon as everyone had actually seen him play he was absolute dross

Definitely, he is going to be one of the best midfielders in the world.

As you mentioned, he is just 18 so he will improve a lot in the coming years. A future midfield of Fosu-Mensah and Renato Sanches could have been really good.

Love in?

Assuming this is a joke? The kid was widely derided and considered nowhere near good enough until Bayern pounced on him.
I am talking about the love in after Bayern got him. He looks good but the praise is overblown.

I think I'm watching a different game. He's ran around a lot without doing much. Did well for the goal but it took a massive deflection. I know he's only 18 but the hype in here's a bit too much considering his performance so far in this game and the tournament.

Actually at the Euro, he hasn't played anywhere near some of his performances for Benfica.
But one can see even such a raw Sanches brings something extra to the team. If and when he fully realizes his true potential, he could be one hell of a player.
The power, pace, stamina he offers, we didn't have anyone since Keano days.
I'm not sure if he'd get enough game time at Bayern though. They've such a strong midfield.
