Renato Sanches joins Bayern

Don't forget Deisler... jesus, Bayern have had a horrible record with these wonder kids, if you look at the years...

I refuse to put Deisler on the same level as Sosa and Breno. Shame! :nono:

I still remember someone from the Transfer Forum thread saying he is less talented than Charni Ekangamene and Ben Pearson

He had 93.8% of pass success. So it's not bad, the problem is that he plays with another speed (similar to Kante), so he needs to learn how to slow down. There's more chances of misplaced passes if he continues playing fast.

Nah, it's not the success rate that bothers me. It's the quality. Seldom passes it well enough to help with a run or in a fashion whereupon the receiver can control it easily.
Surely, such things can only improve with time.

Tend to agree with this assessment. He is reminiscent of Anderson only a much better athlete but also has the technical limitations of Anderson when it comes to passing.

Really reminded me of Anderson the first time I saw him play.
He has impressed the few times I have seen him and I thought to myself this is what we expected from Ando.

Straight from the Ando school of power passing.

Where has Rooney had a knee injury? I see your point he really relys on his mobility but there is no evidence to support that he is at an increased risk of a knee injury than any other player imo. But I do get your other point.

Many times actually. The first one was in 2010 and I feel his knee and ankle injuries have lead to a steep decline since then. (He had a few more in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016 the latest where he was out for almost three months with an injured knee).

I find he changed his game a bit after 2009, he became less aggressive and conserved his energy more since he was being played as a forward and not as a LM. This might have prevented even worse injuries. Anyway..don't want to digress, it is the Sanches thread after all.

Renato will be a monster but we still have Fosu Mensah who could yet turn into a top central midfielder if Jose fancies someone else at right back. Pogba would be amazing but if he chooses Real then there's still some great young central mids out there who Jose may go for such as Andre Gomes, Tielemans, Ruben Neves etc

Nani claims he chose Bayern over us, which makes sense given that LvG was our manager coupled with no CL next year. Had we fecked LvG off last December and used an interim manager the rest of the way, we may have been about to get him with the stipulation that Mourinho was coming. Can't see any young Portuguese player passing up on Mourinho at United. Still he's only 18 and with Bayern fecking off their manager every couple of years, there's a good chance we will get him at a later date. Seeing him, Pogba, and TFM in midfield would be epic.

Will be a monster in some years, but Bayern won't be able to hold him like us with Ronnie. Can see him joining Real or Barca after his contract for a lot of money.

It's ridiculous but I still can't come to peace with his fee.

good hunt for Bayern

Going by that logic, there should have been a good chance for you to get about any Real player you wanted. Apart from that, a Utd supporter talking manager burn rate seems a bit rich atm.

A midfield made off 3 B2B players seems rather unbalanced to me.

Erm no, since we didn't have Mourinho during that time.

TFM is capable of developing into a proper midfield enforcer who plays more of a traditional DM role, albeit with full box to box capability if needed.

Yes, makes sense as Mourinho is famous for being longer than 3years at his clubs before everything implodes...

More like he's famous for winning trophies wherever he goes. Sanches will be a United player at some point in the future if he winds up being any good.

Yup, he is known for his 4th year implosion.

I think its a possibility too if Mou sticks around...summer transfer saga 2018

Actually Bayern is very good holding their international players...

It is the Germans that sometimes leave...

Watch out, we got a Nostradamus over here. He might as well be a Bayern player for a long time, or go to Real, or Barca, or any other club who happens to be on top at that time.

I'm getting fed up being strongly linked with great players whose last name is Sanches/Sanchez only for them to sign elsewhere at the last minute and become a monster elsewhere.

Next time we get linked to a player with a last name like that then we should just buy them on the spot regardless of whether they are good at football or not

Its based on logic of him eventually getting tired of playing in fairly anonymous, one horse league. Most players want to play in England at some point and he will be no different.

Nani said he chose Bayern over us, not much to do about that. At least we know our scouts are doing a decent job; Martial, Renato, Tchao(?).

True, we have been in the hunt for many of Europe's top young stars which is always a good thing.

No Anderson, he looks like a mix between Davids and Seedorf.
To be honest a lot of people compared Anderson to Davids when he first emerged too and not just because of the dreads. The fact that he turned into a caricature shouldn't detract from the fact that he was once insanely talented and Renato Sanches reminds me a lot of him.

Players very rarely get tired of the combination of winning trophies, earning a lot of money and playing in a great team in a wonderful city. The one big step up are the big teams in Spain, other than that you'll only get him when he's past his best and/or struggling with injuries. That might of course happen in 10 years. After all, we need to keep the wonderful history of selling United these kind of midfielders alive.

You are overstating the importance of domestic leagues. Top players want to play for clubs which compete for the CL. That's the reason why english clubs don't have a lot of pull on the player elite atm. Sure, this might change in the future or not, but to go out and publically claim player X or Y is sure to play for your club if you want him is kinda funny:lol:
He might go to Manchester someday..only to play for Guardiola

Winning the Bundesliga is not really winning a trophy though, is it? Who actually cares. I doubt he would come, but there is certainly a chance in the future if we get back to where we once were. Especially with Woodwards love for big signings. Gill and Fergie would rarely even consider purchasing such a player, but times change, and United are a bigger club than Bayern by international measurements.

Yeah, just look at all these players who have left us for the Premier League in recent years. Big problem for us!

That's the trend it seems - more towards glamorous leagues that pay better and away from one horse leagues

Yeah because Pep has history of staying at club for many years isn't it.

Just as Mourinho, with the difference of Mourinho being fired, while Guardiola quits on his own behalf

I'm sure he will enjoy the experience of playing for a bigger club for now, but will eventually sour on the German experience. I doubt he'd want his career to go the way of Javi Martinez or Thiago, who have more or less vanished off the face of the earth since moving to Germany.

He is 18, can't see him staying there until the end of his career. Isn't he a Mendez player also? So he will move, it's just a matter of time. Would be the same if he had joined us. Can see Pogba coming to us and spending 3 years here and than going to Madrid also. Madrid and Barca are the top destination for every player unfortunately. So every other team is a stepping stone...
