It certainly appears he's having second thoughts about leaving United. Still wearing MU kit while dining with Colleen.

No more naive than Mourinho saying 'it's Rooney or bust'.
Yeah, I was surprised at that comment as well in fairness.

There's a helluva lot of 'United in chaos' wishful-thinking going on with rival fans. Laughable.

I have argued this point numerous times to no avail.
Torres on £8m per year over 5 years + £50m transfer fee = £90m
Rooney on £12.5m per year over 5 years + £27.5m transfer fee = £90m.
That's the reason we won't get £50m for Rooney. If Chelsea value Rooney as they valued Torres a couple of years ago, they'll offer £27.5m.
On the flip side:
Milan bought Ibrahimovic for £20m, far less than his "value" because of his wages
PSG bought Ibrahimovic for around £17m, far less than his "value" because of his wages
Anzhi signed Eto'o for £18m, far less than his "value" because of his wages.
There is a reason why Rooney will probably leave for a similar fee to Benteke. One costs £10m more per season more in wages.
All I can think is that it was to let Rooney know how much he wants him, but from a negotiating transfers point of view it was strange.
He's testing out someone he can consider to be a novice on an extremely difficult issue which he was landed with in his in-tray as soon as he got his feet under his desk.
From where I'm standing, United suddenly don't look like the well-oiled machine that they looked like under Ferguson and Gill. From the naive comments that Moyes has an "unlimited budget" whilst going into transfer negotiations to the briefing of private and probably fabricated negotiations in Sydney, it seems like different United from the one we've got used to and the way they conduct their affairs.
It's lucky they don't appear to be doing too well at the moment. At Chelsea you get sacked for doing quite well don't you? Also a Chelsea fan having a go at United's structure is hilarious, considering the lunatics have long taken over the asylum at their own club.
But isn't the wage problem a buyer's problem? I mean, we don't have to take sell a cut price Rooney to Chelsea because he will cost a ton in wages for them. They should buy him for the price we ask, and worry about his salaries. We shouldn't care about how much he'll cost in total for him.
As in all transactions the buyer's problem may become the seller's problem if the former threatens to throw the whole deal. It all depends on how badly the seller wants to sell. If you don't really care either way, it's obviously of no concern to you what problems the buyer might have.
That's what I'm saying. United is not with a dying intent of selling. Chelsea is wanting hard to buy. So, we shouldn't worry about their finances. And of course in saying we, I mean the club, not me personally. It thought that was clear...
Does anyone really still see Rooney in a United line-up next season?

I don't think he'll even be at the club, 100% convinced he'll go to Chelsea.Does anyone really still see Rooney in a United line-up next season?
Which ones? Someone leaked that we'd bid for Fabregas...that's about it isn't it?Not in chaos, but not the well oiled machine that we have become accustomed to. A lot of the transfer dealings for example have been very public.
Maybe a spot the twat line up along side Ince Heinze and Tevez?
Yes, but he is more handsome, has better hair, changed his nationality and his name to Juan Mata.

No, even if he's still at the club I don't want him playing.

Yup. He'll touch 220 goals this season for United.Does anyone really still see Rooney in a United line-up next season?
Higuain says "Jose wants him at Chelsea"
So much for Rooney being his one and only choice.

Even Rooney wouldnt be so dumb to think he's the only one Mourinho is after. He said it to further stroke Rooney's ego and make him feel wanted. He'd be the first choice but if Chelsea dont get him, they'l take someone else. No way will Mourinho go into a season with Ba and Torres as his only 2 strikers.
We didn't air any of that, it was just press speculation.Thiago, Baines, Fabregas and now this Rooney thing and the briefings about Luiz and Mata.
In recent years, Ferguson would unveil them without much fanfare. Young, Hernandez etc etc...
Yeah but if Jose did it to make Rooney feel special and wanted, I guess that won't work that well because well he'll know he's lying now. I honestly don't see us selling to Chelsea with them being our title rivals and with Jose talking crap and doing his blatant public tapping up constantly.Even Rooney wouldnt be so dumb to think he's the only one Mourinho is after. Lukaku as well. Arguably the best of the three. But I agree Jose wants another one.

Clearly they know a lot about changing managers.Happened every time whenever Fergie was here too. The laughable thing is that ever since Fergie has retired, he has somehow turned into a demi god and somehow our success was based ONLY due to him.
The most smug out of the lot has been Chelsea fans, unsurprisingly. This TRS guy is hilarious.
