Just go on youtube and search for "Zidane All in the Touch". The time I could have spent working instead of watching those is difficult to quantify.

How strongly do you feel about that? Zidane's touch was otherworldly.

it isn't clear cut and dry, but bergkamp edges it for me. i mean its a matter of opinion as they are both the two best i've seen when it comes to first touch, but some of the control, esp from taking balls out of flight that berkamp has shown have been ridiculous.

can't post any youtube right now but bergkamp vs. argentina 98 world cup..controlling that 60 yard cross field ball while on full pelt, then nutmegging the legendary ayala, before rifiling it top corner far post.

forget the who it was against but the begkamp goal for arsenal (maybe against soton?) when he takes a ball out of the air, doesn't ever hit the ground, juggles it around the defender, then hits it into the corner for the goal.

also not to mention the outrageous spin put on the ball to beat the defender vs. newcastle....stupidly good goal.

Against Leicester0 Finished 3-3? Good game that was, was in the old days with teletext - the last 3/4 goals were scored in injury time, but on the text it just said 90", and we were all like wtf? It wasnt till MOTD later that night, that we were told that the ref had added something daft like 15 minutes of inury time! Aaah, the good old days!

Some Zlatan 08/09.

The best comp on Zlatan I have seen. The guy who did it is a genius.

I've watched Zlatan for years to know how good he is. IMO he is the most complete striker in the world, he would be considered the best in the world in a heartbeat but for a lack of great performances/goals in the CL Knockouts. I hope he bangs them in next year and then there will be no doubt.

If he was to go to Barca, with their service he would get 30-40 goals easy.

By the way that first 2 minutes of his heel kick reminded me of Stojkovic..

Bold claim. Lets come back here in a years time if the move goes through and hear your excuses for why it hasn't happened ;)

I agree there are a lot of ifs and buts. If he can score 29 goals with Inter's inferior team, than I believe he can better that at Barca with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi putting the ball on a plate for him. Not to mention his own skill.

Spanish press have started reporting that Eto'o has agreed a deal and that it's all happening. 46m + Eto'o + Hleb loan

Still can't believe that a lot of people on here still don't rate Zlatan much and have such a hard time liking him. He's probably the funniest fecker playing football today along with that German fellow at Fulham and he plays football in that magical way that every football fan loves to watch. It's almost like porn.

so you mean mainly first touch? In general play I feel Zidane had unparalleled manipulation of the ball from the late 90s generation, but first touch may be a different story.

It is true though, Bergkamp vs. Newcastle is one of THE moments of individual genius by a footballer.

That is just 08/09, and so many moments of brilliance and even some left out...

I cant wait to watch the Stojkovic video! Youtube is dissabled at work :/

Even at the old exchange rate, that's around £30 million AND Eto'o?

This gives a bit of backing to the theory by another poster that nike may indeed be helping to fund his move to make sure he remains at a nike sponsored club:wenger::lol:

FV, Seeing as you seem to hold a player of Zlatan's style in high regard. If Zlatan was a 10/10, then what would Berbatov be, compared to him?

Also, you think he's worth around £30 mill + Eto'o?

If berbatov is worth 30million then he possibly is.

It is the situation, Eto'o with a full contract is easily worth 40million in todays market. Take the fact that he wont sign a new one and has one year left you can half that and maybe go even lower. They want rid.

With regards to Zlatan he is simelar to Berbatov but he is bigger, faster and stronger with much more self confidence. I'd say he is around 7 or 8/10 compared to Ibra.

I really rate Berbatov, he's a smooth player and a cool guy.

if you get Kaka for 50/60 million when Ibra has been the better player in Italy then he is worth the same. Ronaldo for 80million has inflated everything. To the point where United wont even spend the money....

To be fair even though the fees are high, they only look THAT high due to the pound falling so much against the euro.

Good logic but Samuel's value+ the sum of money makes it close to Ronaldo's transfer and since Zlatan is a much inferior player to Ronaldo then I find this transfer weird

Eto'o's value really won't be much (for barca) due to him only having an year left on his contract, so they could expect to get as little as 15 mill for him. I think they'd rather bring in a player of Zlatan's ability for around £30 mill this season than wait till next when they won't have Eto'o and a cash only deal would be much pricier.

You have made a good point DF but when I look at the players and their abilites (let's not forget Hleb ) Inter and Eto'o have made the better deal.

Hleb's deal will benefit both Barca AND Inter tbh. He's not getting a look in, so a loan at a team of Inter's quality is perfect for the player and for Barca in turn.
