Nah

---------------------VDS

BROWN---------RIO-----VIDIC-----------EVRA

------------------HARGEAVES

VALENCIA-----ROONEY----BERBATOV----NANI

------------------THE ZLAT

Actually, although that was a joke I think half the teams in the league would shit their pants at that team sheet

Too defensive, put Hargreaves at Right Wing Back and replace Brown with Anderson in CM. Swap Vidic out for Owen upfront as well.

Forget Zlatan, Fergie would not want someone like him at OT. On the pitch he is a great player, though some say that he s a bottler in big games. However outside of the pitch and sometimes even on it, he is an extremely difficult person to cope with.

A friend of mine happened to be in the dressing room in Gotheburg (?) where the Swedish national team were playing Malta (if I m not mistaken). One thing that stuck him was the way Zlatan treated his mates. According to him, he only had some respect for one of his mates....the rest were treated like if they were schoolboys..

Ok he s the star of the team, but I do not think that Fergie will tolerate that..

No, but then Fergie would sort it out. We've had our fair share of difficult characters, Fergie is one himself.

I have only really seen Ibrahimovic playing in the Champions league and the odd International for Sweden. I know he seems to do well domestically in Serie A but when ever I have seen Ibrahimovic he has been less than effective. 30 Million is a lot of money and while I would be happy to be proved wrong if he ends up at United, I think he is over rated and an average striker at best.

i agree with this, never really seen anything impressive from him, admittedly i have seen very little of him, but more than i have seen of benzema and he managed to impress me

Okay if you havent seen a player play domestically in 4 seasons then you really cant say he is an average player.

I'd guess you seen him against Liverpool and United in the CL and that is all.

You don't win Italian player of the Year by being average. YOu do not win the Forign player of the year award by being average. YOu do not score 57 goals in 88 league games for Inter Milan by being average.

Cheers Kouroux ;)

i really dont care if people dont rate him but if you say something like "admittedly i've seen very little of him" then you really dont have a point to make.

I havent entered the Douglas Costa thread, well i have to read but not to post opinions on a player i havent seen and who quite frankly 99% of people on this forum wont have seen play much because how could i form a personal opinion on a player i havent seen.

I could however listen to reports and read articles hailing him as the new Ronaldinho and go into a wank fest over his potential to be a star of the future at United.

Or in Zlatans case i could read all the negative press about how he is a bottler, cant play against english, arrogant etc etc and form that opinion based on what a bunch of english journalists write.

Either way i'm not doing myself any favours so why bother....

It does not matter what anyone says, Zlatan is a great striker. Him joining United would improve the team a lot.

That's whats wrong with some caftards at times, I didn't post a single one in that thread because I know nothing about that player so I better keep it quiet.
There are some who just love to throw an opinion like that just by following the general consensus like Zlatan is always overrated and shit

YOu do not score 57 goals in 88 league games for Inter Milan by being average.

That's a great record, almost Ronaldo-esque.

For the record I'd happy if we bought him, he's a real character.

When he bought a house in his hometown Malmo he just rang the door bell on a fancy house he liked and just said "I wanna buy this house, how much would you want for it?"

:)

hahaha yeah i seen the documentary thing. It was good.

I actually like his personality and i think the fans would warm to him and he'd become a big favourite for United. Anyway it's very unlikely and probably only came about because he himself said the only other team he might join is United because Barca and Real had already bowed out.

I'm more surprised it isnt chelsea being linked to be honest. Ancelotti has been a big fan and tried his best to get him to AC but he joined Inter instead.

When and where did he say that? I thought it was just the papers saying that United were the only option left for him?

Ibra is probably the most arrogant player in the Serie A. The man would do anything to take what he wants and Inter/Juventus knows that pretty well. Anyone wanting Ibra must be prepared for anything which include insults to the team (for the sole reason to leave) over the media.

Stating that he is a great player. If I had to put describe him in few words then I would say that if you have to forget Cesar for a minute then Ibra is Inter. He is their most influential player, their main source of goals and creativity.

Moratti is not an idiot (well actually he is but he is not thaat idiot). He knows that by selling Ibra he will have to buy 3 - 4 players to compensate. Thats why he wouldnt sell him for less then 50m.

Ibrahimovic is one of the most talented footballers in the world, but there is just no getting away from his record at the highest level (Champions League):

Sweden — 21 goals in 56 games.

His International record is actually very good, to be fair, and his league record is fantastic, but 18 goals in 66 Champions League games is not good enough. It's surprising, because everything about him suggests that he should be at home in that competition.

I remember him being good in the CL for Juve and Ajax in the games I watched. I think that with a team that knows how its done in the CL, like United, he would be great in the tournament, he has all it takes. I'm sure he would be a terrific player for us. Would have been even more suited for our style of play if we still had Ronaldo. Last year he would have been perfect for us and it showed when we played them in comparision with Berbatov.

Dunno bout' you guys but for me I don't want Zlatan. If I were to invest 30mp on a player, ability wise yes but lacks the attitude I'd rather we invest on the something with the potential to become a legend for us. Rooney was a master piece by Fergie, if only Benzema's dream was to become a red then we'd have gotten Benzema. I just hope we spend money on someone who really wants to become a red and red til' he retires.

No offence, but that's just ridiculous. Do you think all the greats who have played for Manchester United grew up dreaming of doing so? Kinell, it seldom works like that (anymore, anyway). I'd rather us sign talented players who would hopefully learn the privilege of wearing our shirt rather than average players who would jizz their pants out of excitement the second they entered the Old Trafford pitch.

And regardless of us needing Ibrahimovic or not, if he were available for £30 million we'd be pretty lucky.

:wenger: Delusion at its worst really
Ronaldo is the perfect answer for this kinda nonsense

Was Cantona a red when he was at leeds united?

no but he grew to love the club and now his one and only love in football is Manchester United and that for me is every bit as beautiful as a guy who has loved United his whole life joining the club and staying for life.

Enough of the comparisons to Cantona.

He's good but he's not that good, or special.

He's probably better.

But Cantona was made for United, everything came together for him at OT.

People talk about Zlatan and his lack of goals in the CL, Cantona's CL stats aren't very impressive either.

Phew, i'm glad someone brought up Cantona. I've always felt a resemblance in style, but was afraid that notion would be shot down instantly as many here don't seem to rate Ibra. Both are amazingly talented and temperamental, but Cantona just so happened to fall in love with our club and became fiercely loyal. Ibra genuinely seems to be a tit at times, but if he came here and is happy and bangs in the goals, that's good enough for me.

Completely unnecessary and a bit cockish.

You should know better.

The transfer muppets who wanted Berbatov as he could be the new Cantona. Hence muppets.

Because as I thought and said at the time, no chance of him being that. Technical ability was one of many facets of what Cantona brought to a side along with leadership and character. Berbatov doesnt stamp these things on a game.

As I pointed out, we had this all said last summer when the transfer forum decided Berbatov was a new Cantona type player to bring in. Now a season on they have found another. Begs the question, who will next year's be?

Cantona never got the same opportunities as Ibrahimovic in the CL particularly at Manchester United seeing as for most of his time here we were restricted by the foreigner rule.

As i have just posted in another thread...

Zlatans wages are 9mil Euros a year at Inter. That would be £150k a week. Plus, he would have to pay a higher rate of tax in the UK.

Not going to happen.

really?

Cantona spent the first 10 years of his career a wreckless journeyman. A player constantly playing beneath the level he was capable of because of his attitude.

Cantona is special, he is special to United fans but that doesnt give him the devine right to be rated as above other players like Ibrahimovic.

Cantona was a flawed genius like so many and it took United to capture his spirit and that is why he is a legend. But when you compare him to players playing now you have to take the good and the bad and not cherry pick his importance to United over a very sweet but rather brief period of his career.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the Inter Milan player is more than happy in Italy.

The 27-year-old Sweden striker has been linked with sides all over Europe in recent months, with all reportedly interested.

"I'm happy to be here in Appiano (Inter's training ground)," said Ibrahimovic on the club's official TV channel.

"Have I read the newspapers in recent weeks? Yes, but I didn't find anything interesting.

"Whatever happens, happens. I'm happy to be here now. I'm as happy as the first day I joined Inter."

Inter only went into talks with Barcelona to try and get Iniesta as part of the deal. I'm pretty sure that if Ibrahimovic moves on this summer, it'll only be in a deal that seems to benefit Inter via a player swap... And if it was down to getting shit loads of cash for him, they're a lot more likely to get it from elsewhere.

I don't think he will leave the club, he will also be given the number 10 shirt. The official version is his wife really likes living in Milan and didn't want to move but I guess he's staying simply 'cause no other club in Europe could give him the same wage he earns at Inter.
