Zlatan Ibrahimovic

I doubt he's best pleased with Ibra and the way he's attempted to get himself a new club but as far as working relationships go they have a great one. Mutual respect and all that. Ibra says Mourinho is the best he's worked with and Mourinho says Zlatan is the best player in the world...

It's very Lampard/Mourinho really.

Get a room FFS!

I wouldn't mind him in our team, with players like Berbatov and Rooney I think he'd do good. But, and a big but, we would never pay the money that Inter demand, so i can't see this happening...

Why would anyone want Zlatan here? He is the most overrated striker at the moment!

we should offer mourinho the manager position here after SAF retires if he agrees to sell us Ibra

He'll have it anyway IMO.

I remember Mourinho calling Zlatan the best player in the world before we knocked them out of the CL. Any of you lot reckon he's close to that title or is it just simple Mourinho semantics/hype.

On his day there are not many strikers I think is better. Don´t want him though. He´s not the most humble person on Earth and I don´t want our great team-spirit being thrown out the window by a footballer that is shite from time to time

he's got everything except blistering pace, he gave Rio and Vidic problems on his own upfront.

He would do better than Berba

Zlatan would be welcomed by me but not at any price. That being said it'll never happen

True...

how much was Berbatov? 30?

how high would you go for a better version of Berbatov? i'd say close to 40 mil.

Still barely half of what you got for Ronaldo, not bad ;)

but yeah you are right, i really dont think this will happen. Never say never though. Saying that United rarely target players and get them all in the media ala Madrid.

We overpaid for Berbatov. Just because we've paid high prices in the past doesn't justify paying over the odds in the future.

By any price I meant the fact that Ronaldo transfer allowed the club to "earn" a huge sum of money and a high profile player like Zlatan would be sold for another silly amount of money.
For the record I thought Berbatov's fee was ridiculous but we have to thank Man.City for that

I don't get why a Mirror article about Zlatan to United is still doing the rounds. The valuation put on Zlatan in the article is so wrong that its easy to tell its a bs story.

Zlatan & Berbatov at the same club.

Possibly the stupidest idea I've ever heard

Am I the only one desperate to sign Zlatan?

Perfect partner for Rooney. A genuine cock out prospect.

Actually it was our own fault for allegedly tapping him up or sommat. Berbatov was never going to City when we were in the picture.

All these massive transfer fees are what is making all other transfer fees go higher. THat is the nature of the transfer market...

If you pay over the odds for someone then another club will suffer because they will value their own star the same way the team that sold you a player for over the odds valued theirs.

The EPL is one of the worst for it, i mean Darren Bent for nearly 20mil... Andrew Johnston for almost 10mil..

Obviously all has been over shadowed by Madrids mega spending now but the money in football right now is a farce.

People said similar things about Tevez and Rooney..

I would have loved to sign Zlatan, but not when we've got Owen now, who will play a decent role I think. Zlatan is going to sulk 10 times worse than Ronaldo if placed on the bench, and I really want to see what Berbatov can do next season.

Zlatan = arrogant, spoilt teenager
Eric = Charismatic leader of men

(disclaimer: the fact that I'm 15 years older now when watching Zlatan compared to when I watched Cantona might play into it)

Bull shit ;)

Name one boss who Ibrahimovic has had a problem with. Lagerback, and he's a twat.

As far as i know the only players he's had a problem with have been Van Der Vaart (speaks for itself).

He is no saint but he's certainly not half as bad as half of you think.

I've just watched his top 30 goals compilation on youtube, making me an expert on Zlatan - not to mention a close personal friend. Zla' is a superb player, from what I can gather he only scores wondergoals. I've heard wondergoals are good. He's 27, we have money, he likes money, we like goals.

Owen---Zlatan---Berbatov

Oh, Go on then, let's spunk it!

:wenger:

If we hadn't got Berbatov last summer, this transfer would make a lot of sense. Now however, it doesn't. Can't deny the prospect of him in our shirt is slightly mouth-watering though.

There's every reason not to believe the story anyway, his price for one, but if it somehow did happen I'm sure the boss would know what he was doing.

Actually, although that was a joke I think half the teams in the league would shit their pants at that team sheet

"So we haven't heard anything about more in the last few hours about Zlatan Ibrahimovic's proposed move to Manchester United but that doesn't mean we can't speculate as to whether he would be a good fit for Old Trafford. "

Yahoo talking about it now. Perhaps there is a little substance to this, does seem very out of the blue, but likewise - somewhat believable. I don't know why, but I feel there is a signing or two left in us this transfer market. Perhaps this could be the 'star' buy.

I have only really seen Ibrahimovic playing in the Champions league and the odd International for Sweden. I know he seems to do well domestically in Serie A but when ever I have seen Ibrahimovic he has been less than effective. 30 Million is a lot of money and while I would be happy to be proved wrong if he ends up at United, I think he is over rated and an average striker at best.
