Seems he cracked a bone in his arm during his acrobatic goal today vs. Fiorentina

That celebration was probably unwise given the condition of his arm. The subsequent tumble to the floor makes it worse.

Cantona of continental clubs. Has won the league in almost every season he has played. Not been successful in the CL or Internationals though.

As an individual Cantona did quite well for France...20 goals in 45 matches, not his fault France didn't have it all together at that stage.

The fact that you see it as a joke if Ibrahimovic contends for the WPOTY. Despite him coming 7th in the last Ballon D'or (when he had a great season), higher than anyone in the PL. So what's wrong with saying he'd be a contender if he kept up his form?

The thing with Zlatan is that he always shows these moments of brilliance, he has even had some great seasons. His last at Inter he was sensational in my opinion and the season before that he won them the title.

He is currently carrying injuries and playing on because Milan need him and it really shows how much they need him. But for all his brilliance he still lacks consistency at times and whist on his day he is a sensation on his off days he offers so little.

I am a fan of his, he does things few players can and all with a swagger but it would take something rediculous from him to elevate him to the level of winning the ballon d'or in my honest opinion.

There is nothing wrong.I just think it's pointless

A serious contender is someone who has a real chance of winning it and right now it's impossible to tell since no trophies were won. It's not even half the season.
It's far too early to have any sort of serious contenders (apart from the usual suspects)

If he keeps up this form throughout the season, fires Milan to the title and the latter stages of the CL, then I don't see why not.

He had an excellent first half to last season as well and once again he left his mark in a big local derby, just like against Real last season but if he can do this in the business end of the season, he should be a serious contender.

He is indeed getting on a bit, I remember it like yesterday when he was in his early 20s raping the Swedish league.

I just hope he goes out before his record go bust, which probably means he'll have to leave Milan at some point before retiring, can't see them winning Serie A three times back to back.

The boy does rape that league in all fairnes, he us the perfect fit for Serie A. Hopefuly yet another league is on it's way to his trophy room.

From what I saw of the Swedish league I reckon I might be able to do the same even in my 40's...

Allsvenskan was far better back then, they've lost many top players to foreign leagues and been in decline since.

The guy is absolute class. He might be a bit rubbish in the biggest of games in Europe but he's a brilliant striker. He's won the league back to back for the last 7 years now eh? Twice(or thrice?) at Ajax, twice at Juve (even though they were stripped off) and twice with Inter and once with Barca. Now looks like he might do it with Milan as well.

Absolute rubbish mate, agree about the rest though.

So much ego, when he is the main man he plays better and shows what a great player he is. He needs to be "the man" to get the best out of him. Maybe that's why his time at Barca was prematurely ended, there can only be one "man" in the team and Zlatan was never going to be it with Messi around.

Now he is at Milan and is very much the man and he's showing everyone what a class act he is once more. He is on his way to leading them to their first title in a long while, 7 years?

Says it all with the dire midfield Milan have.
