Zlatan Ibrahimovic

I love the way the english pundits and media still find a way to make it all about england. Any player that has been a success in the EPL gets outragous praise for anything they do, anyone who plays outside the EPL gets very little recognition or get branded constantly.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has an ego. Big deal, most of the worlds best players have an ego. I mean if that is a critisizm look no further than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Wahey, I was going to say that.

Wahey, I was going to say that.

It's a disgrace how little research or knowledge they have of football outside of england. Look at the comments made my Redknapp or the comments in game when Zlatan was taken off at half time. At first they said he was taken off because he was lazy and they wanted Rosenburg as a harder worker. I mean how on earth could anyone come to that conclusion when they should know he missed alot of the end of the season with a knee injury and is still struggling and was most likely taken off for that reason.

Comments about Materazzi are always below the belt, when he was subbed off they dont even mention that he is carrying injury but put it down to his attitude and combustability. Ok the only central defender in the squad who is first choice is taken off for no reason. It even showed him heavily iced and strapped up and they dont mention it.

I expect fair anaylsis and i don't expect them to call into question every part of a players personality at every opertunity. Disgraceful but i guess it is to be expected.

You need to watch RTE!!! Not a Zlatan fan but those comments are disgraceful. Typical uneducated bullshit!

Sell Zlatan sign Smith. At least Smith isn't 'lazy' or has an attitude problem.

It is so right, all his critizism is about his lazy attitude problem yet in the first half he scored one, should have scored another and set up a golden chance which Larsson screwed.

2nd half sweden didnt have a chance and the ball would never stick up front. His attitude isnt half as bad as it is made out to be anyway. And he looks lazy because he doesnt chase lost causes.

When asked to describe himself in 3 words, he said 'I am Brilliant'.

I think it's safe to say, he has a big ego.

The thing is though this doesn't make me hate the guy, it's quite funny actually, I wish there were more characters in football like Zlatan who say what they think. Looking at some of the comments he has made he has a big ego but there's nothing wrong with that as far as i'm concerned. Also, some of the things he has said could have been tongue in cheek, I have seen him give interviews where he is humble by describing his Italian as 'shit' and openly admit he has rarely played well against English opposition so there are two sides to everyone.

Inter want to pull Zlatan out of the Euros because of his ongoing knee complaint. An operation would put him out for a year :(

I know I've said a lot about him recently, but no-one deserves to miss a year of the game, especially when your effectively at the peak of your career.

Awesome post. Totally correct

Rather it shows he knows himself well. He is simply brilliant.

But how often does he produce that brilliance? I think we are all in agreemant the guy is as talented as they come, but every time I have seen him he has bee average at best. Granted I haven't watched him all that much, probably about 15-20 games in my life, and of those he must have had a performance worthy of praise in about 2 of them.

A swede would be more grateful for his services than that.

I was about to say that. esmufc has been very critical. I think he did fine for Inter, so it only leaves the Swedish team performances

Like I said, the only time I see him play is in the CL and on International duty, I don't watch Serie A so I can't criticise his league performances, but all I'm saying is that in the games I have watched him in he hasn't impressed me at all.

He's won the Seria A for Inter. IIRC, I think he scored a brace on the last day as well to clinch it ahead of Roma.

esmufc07, hate to break it to you...

You are clueless

But how often does he produce that brilliance? .
Often enough. Anyone who watches him often will tell you this.

Well he hasn't only played 15-20 games in his entire career. On top of the fact he hardly ever goes on a 5-10 game run of bad performances. That should tell you something. Either you are not lucky. Or you simply don't watch him often enough, especially without bias.

Oh right, I forgot you have a superior knowledge over the rest of us on here and your opinion is more valid.

:wenger:

The majority of the people on here are willing to discuss arguemnts.

You're just saying he's lazy.

also, this thread reminded me that me and esmu are enemies, i'll enjoys his demotion even more now.
