Zlatan Ibrahimovic

I agree. I reckon he'd be Cantona-like for us. Great touch, strength and decent pace. Got the lot.

He would make us impossible to play. (Well there is 1% chance to play us now at full strength/form :D now.)

this is all academic because neither zlatan or villa will come here.

zlatan is on ridiculously high wages and his transfer would cost 30+ not to mention inter won't sell, even if jose wants him out.

villa, unlike torres, doesn't have anything against playing in another team in la liga so he could make the move to barca or madrid, or if not, liverpool, arsenal, or chelesa would all be ahead in the queue in his mind IMO.

it'll be down to either getting mugged by spurs for berbatov or buying santa cruz for 5 times the price blackburn paid and have him break down for us like he did for bayern munich.

Yes, because Berbatov and Santa Cruz are the only strikers in the world good enough and willing to come to us.

so who do you think will come then? just curious.

well i guess you could through huntelaar into the mix, didn't really cross my mind.

I'm not going to get into the whole suggesting names bollox.

But, what I will say is that there are plenty more strikers in the world than Santa Cruz and Berbatov.

Anyone who sriously wants us to buy this useless idiot is an idiot themselves. Yes he has got all the talent and that is there to see, but he must produce that talent about 1 game per season.

If anyone can find Martin O Neills rant on him in the 2006 WC I'd be grateful.

I've said it continuously, he's not a United player.

Capable of brilliance, but not consistently. And even when he produces brilliance it's in meaningless games.

Ridiculous. Watch Serie A.

How many meaningless games are there then?

Ibra IS inconsistent, that is something both Inter fans and Juve fans had moaned or keep moaning about.

Mind he is a great talent though.

The national side is pretty pointless to look at since the conditions are totally different. He's playing with much better player sin italy, and the swedish team don't score that many goals or play that often anyway. Ibrahimovic showed today why he's more important to the team than just a goalscorer.

When it comes to Zlatan, I've been a bit all over the place with my opinion of him the last couple of year.

I have now finally though, come to the conclusion that him at United would be mint.

There you go.

This is pleasing. Zlatan is winning people over.. let's face it, he's ace.

Best striker in the world atm

He was very good in the first half today, showing not only his usual skill but also some hard work I´ve never seen from him before. They seriously missed him when he went off, they´re attacking play was non existent after that.

I hope he´s fit and well. They need him if they want to go any further in this tournament.

He would be perfect at a club like United and Fergie as a manager. Fergie rates him in top 5 strikers in the world, he said that before the game last season against the european 11. And that was 1,5 years ago.

Would be nice if he came to England and shoved the negativity shown towards him up the arses of all the critics. Countless times during the commentary in the Spain vs Sweden game he was being criticised for being 'lazy' and having a 'big ego' by John Champion and David Pleat. How the feck do they know if he has a huge ego or not? Do they know him personally or something?
I think if Ibra had stayed on maybe Sweden could have nicked it. Shame about the problem he seems to be having with his knees.

Zlatan for me is the one piece we really need to sustain our position as the best team in the world. He's fast with/without the ball, skillful, and plays well under a game-plan.. OK I'm a little bit drunk right now so someone else has to write a better post about adding him to our squad... WAKE UP Fergie and Carlos!!!

Simply put Zlatan walks into any team in the world. He's proved it season after season. Lazy, sure. Arrogant? totally. Does either of these things matter when a player consistently delivers brilliance and can win games for teams and make thing happen. Personally i don't think so. Of course you can find players who will work harder but Zlatan plays football his own way and it is that unpredictabilty coupled with alot of other things that make him the player he is.

That statement can be applied to Ronaldo but unfortunately not Ibrahimovich. He is a little bit too inconsistent for our team.

When asked to describe himself in 3 words, he said 'I am Brilliant'.

I think it's safe to say, he has a big ego.

Inconsistency has alot to do with teammates, manager, training etc.

What makes you think he wouldn't improve under Fergie, who is a better manager than Mancini.

Zlatan under Mourinho :nervous: They wont stand eachother I think

If Jose wants Zlatan out and IF United do bid 30m I don't see why we won't get Zlatan. Zlatan can lead the line is a good header of the ball and is the perfect striker soccerwise. I'm sure Fergie will sort Zlatan's attitude out if he actually comes. Would be great to see Ronaldo/Rooney/Zlatan in the same team.

Sweden looked utterly lost without him today, I'll grant him that.

So does Inter. He was pivotal for their title winning campaign. I think he has matured alot tbh, like many here i used to think he was overrated and a sulking arrogant prick, but like Ronaldo he has come a long way and now tends to take games by the scruff of their necks.

Your arguments are pretty shit lads.

A lazy Zlatan > any other none-lazy striker

When he got married he had one that was even better. A journalist asked what he's girlfriend would get as a wedding present and he replied "nothing, she got Zlatan." Great player though.

"Who is the greatest French player, Platini or Zidane?"
"I am", Cantona replied.

:D
