I've tried not to say much on this subject, because I'm an eternal pessimist and it'd be a dream, but my word. If we were to get Zlatan it'd be huge for us and for him. Surely he knows that. Yeah, he could go to China for a guaranteed insane payday, but he loves the glory and the limelight. being our star man would give him more limelight than he's ever known.

For us, going from LVG, dull football, no CL and a downward spiral, to Mourinho, renewed excitement around the club and Zlatan.....would be huge. Also, he may be a bit of a dick, but I love the guy, reminds me of Cantona. I only wish we'd got him years ago.

This is a very risky transfer which can go both ways for us.

He is 34 years old;
He has a big ego like Mourinho;
Is he just after a final 'good' pay packet?;
Is he also wanting to win a League in another country?;
Can he still deliver at a top level?

He seems to want to join Mourinho/United and he may be instrumental to make us a force again but there are many question marks to be answered - then maybe we should take the risks and get him.

None of us is Nostradamus!

Generally they don't take numbers from players if we are talking about just any player. This on the other hand is a totally different story. We ripped the number off from Gabriel Heinze thought.

If you have a star like Ibra coming in and you have a cocky youth player like Memphis and the transfer depended on it (say Ronaldo came back), do you think the club would let Memphis stand in the way of that? They often make look like the player himself gave the number away, and in return earns some fan credits. To me the #7 has been used like a prostitute of lately. We should be more careful with it, however the spell is probably gone now for the new generation of fans.
Shirt numbers mean an awful lot to you don't they!
Ronaldo's different, he has a brand with all that CR7 stuff. I can see Ibra getting #11 though, as I reckon Januzaj might be off on loan/for good.

He's coming.

*and we need someone like him. Even if he doesn't score a bucket load of goals, he could be the character we've been lacking for the past 4-5 seasons.

Stripping Memphis of the #7 will further damage his confidence. If Jose has no place for him, fair enough, but if he does, let him keep it.
couldn't care less about Memphis. he can lump it and just thank his lucky stars he is at our club. still has a lot to prove.

He'd be off to China I think!

Has to be no 7. I want one and I've only ever bought 2 shirts before in my life (1994 black away with Cantona 7 & 1999 Red CL final with 99).

No 7 Red home jersey with no 7 Ibrahimovic on the back will be the most bought shirt in football merchandising history ....
I'd darn well hope so as the no 7 red home jersey would look freaking stupid if it had a different no. attached to it :p

Yes, 11 is not a number for a player who's not even at the club most of the season. I can guarantee you there won't be any stars coming if we keep giving away our biggest numbers to freaking u21 players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is soo much a yes, that grin tells it all. He wants to say he is coming to united and he is excited as feck to play under Mourinho again but he isn't allowed to say anything.

Also how fecking aswseome is Zlatan, his response about people questioning him to make it in the PL:

I'am only warming up ...

I have proven that age is just a number, everything is in the head, I have just had a fantastic season
If I want to make it, I will make it
If I want to do something I'll do it

I'am not worried

In that calm but reassured voice of his, who on earth dares to doubt him ?

Zlatan is a king, hopefully soon our King

We have been missing a such player for years.

Haven't been this excited about a signing since Ronaldo, i'm buzzing actually. We've missed that kind of arrogance and confidence on the pitch. He will elevate the youngsters around him to raise their game as well.

Schneiderlin
Herrera-----------B2B
Ibra
RW-------------------Martial
Return of the Diamond formation anybody?

Surely China offer will still be there in one or two years? Even at 36 he'd be miles ahead of anyone at that league. He's coming to United if he realises that

It's really tricky. 10 is ruled out. 9 would seem very unfair because Martial is quite a big star atm and will be our future. 7 on the other hand should easily be possible to rip off from Memphis, but I don't think that's the kind of number ibra wants. 11 is also a possible number. 18 ??? That's an option for some strikers but I doubt it. The search goes on. I remember being really pissed off with giving the no. 5 shirt to Rojo while others were laughing at me. Who's laughing now.

We should take it from him regardless but don't give it to Zlatan

That number has been cursed ever since we sold Ronaldo

Valencia, Di Maria, Now Memphis

No give him anything but 7

It's great how you can hear him drumming his fingers while he smiles as he's thinking what to say next.

There is no harm in signing Ibrahimovic on a season or two whatsoever. We need some character, authority and winning mentality in that dressing room.

Speak for yourself. 25 PL goals, premier league title, pfa player of the year. Calling it.

'Keep'? Who else has besides Januzaj? Memphis was supposed to be a huge signing but he's been shite, so that's not the same.

Why is it a problem he has an ego like Mourinho. We need that kind of manager and that kind of players. If nothing our players are too nice and too shy. We need egos as we always had that in our heyday.

Is it true some Chinese club has offered him 25 million a year for 2 years?

Maybe he's one of the rarities in football that isn't driven by financial gain, either way he's a complete cock tease and I love him. Certainly be interesting next season with him amd mourinho we'll finally have some characters in the dressing room.

I think the laugh was more a, 'ffs I've answered questions on Man Utd and still you ask'.

He has a wonderful arrogant attitude about him, that our dressing room has been missing for years.

There's certainly a buzz around United right now. I miss this type of atmosphere. Ibra and Jose combined will take us to glory. I wonder who's next in the pipeline after these two get announced? I'm suspecting a enforcer type centre midfielder which Jose tends to love.

Our most successful spell was when we had Cantona / Keane's ego on the pitch matched with SAF's off the pitch

What risk? It's a free transfer. The outlay from his merchandise sales alone will be more than enough to meet his wages. No risk involve.
