Hillarious watching the anti-Mourinho/anti-Ibra brigade bricking it today.

really? 4 strikers all shoehorned into the same team?..........................DDG.........................
Darmian......Smalling....Stones........Shaw
..............Herrera......Schneiderlin.........
.........Rashford...Rooney.....Martial.......
.......................Zlatan........................
I would be delighted with that starting 11 next year.
Let's hope not.First time a new player gets the captains' armband ?
If this is true then we have a leader.
Zlatan will be useless even if he's free. Rashford has nothing to learn from Ibra as he's more a Brazilian Ronaldo type of player. And he's a really bad influence in the locker room.
he might be free but he's not who you guys need - your fine up front with Rashford and Martial.
well you've just disproved your own point...they arnt 4 strikers when they all play those other roles well. Its strange that people think professional player can only play one role and thats it for them.really? 4 strikers all shoehorned into the same team?
(yes I know rooney has lost his legs and Martial can play left wing but...)

Because the notion of a player just walking in and taking the captain's armband is ridiculous. Why not? I only see one obvious contender in our side for the armband: de Gea, as he's world class and always plays. Zlatan will bring in something we've not really had since Vida and Evra. Drive and leadership. Of course, we've not had an inspirational captain since Keane.
It's slightly disturbing that there are several erroneous impressions reg. Zlatan. Rashford is a Ronaldo type striker? Great:
Though Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently described himself as “god,” there is one person on this planet that he still thinks of more highly than himself. And that’s the original Ronaldo, Il Fenomeno.
In Ibrahimovic’s book, “I am Zlatan,” he wrote a passage that came very close to veering into fan fiction.
“I put up photos of Ronaldo in my room. Ronaldo was the man. Not only because of his step-overs and goals in the World Cup. Ronaldo was brilliant on every level. He was what I wanted to be, a guy who made a difference. The players on the Swedish national side, who were they? There was no superstar, nobody who was talked about around the world. Ronaldo was my hero and I studied him online and tried to take in his movements, and I thought I was getting to be an awesome player. I danced down the pitch with the ball.”
And if you think Zlatan was exaggerating about his love of Ronaldo, just take a look at this picture of his bedroom as a teenager.
That’s Zlatan reading a book about Ronaldo with a Ronaldo poster on his wall and pictures of Ronaldo as his computer background. There are about a dozen mentions of Ronaldo in “I am Zlatan” that make it clear that the Sweden captain has always compared himself by the Brazilian’s other-worldly standard.
Zlatan joined Inter four years after Ronaldo left, but during Ronaldo’s brief stint with Milan, they did play against each other. And Zlatan was just as overwhelmed by this experience as you would expect someone who once had the bedroom pictured above would be.
Zlatan would again follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps when he joined Barcelona (and played there for just one season, again like Ronaldo). In 2013, the now retired two-time World Cup winner visited Paris — the latest stop on Zlatan’s domestic league domination tour.
Before a Ligue 1 match against Marseille, Zlatan presented PSG’s distinguished guest with a personalized shirt and also took the opportunity to give his idol a hug.
Ronaldo visited the Parc des Princes once more on Saturday and Zlatan again took the chance to delight in playing the role of world’s biggest fan boy.
Note that Zlatan says getting his picture taken with Ronaldo, a man he has met several times before, is “the best thing that happened last night.” That might sound like he’s finding a bright spot after a frustrating loss, but PSG beat Nice 1-0 that night and Ibrahimovic scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 15th minute. In other words, Zlatan Ibrahimovic — a person who lives to score goals and then praise himself for doing it — thinks that spending a few moments with Ronaldo is better than scoring a match winning goal.
So what does Ronaldo think of Zlatan? Here’s how their dressing room meet and greet might have gone…
Zlatan: Oh myself, oh myself, oh myself! Can I get a picture with you Ronaldo? I love you so much — you don’t even know!
Ronaldo: Sure, uh, Zander, right?
Zlatan: Actually, I am Zlatan, destroyer of worlds and deity to the universe. But you’re Ronaldo, so you can totally call me Pep Guardiola if you want. I don’t even care.
Ronaldo: Whatever you say, Zack.
Zlatan: Hey! Someone change the title on all of my books to “I am Zack.” Now! Do it now!
Except thats completely different... with Falcao, RVP and Rooney we tried to play them all up top together, whereas here we would be playing the players in positions that they can play. Martial for example is arguably better on the left than up top so how will that hinder the team, same could possibly be said about Rashford on the right and then Rooney has shown the last two months that he can play CM well and should be able to improve in the roll as well. Where has this idea come from that players cant ever play more than one position. Some of the best players ever have played all over.Reminds me a bit of when we tried playing Rooney, RvP and Falcao at the same time. Rashford will likely be on the bench to start and I'd hope we would get a right winger. As well as Rashford has done he doesn't need to start every single game just yet, coming off the bench and starting the odd game to rest Ibra will do him just fine for the time being.

I want Zlatan here, but it is a gamble. He's 34 (I think), and winding down. There's a reason PSG are allowing him a free transfer.
He's 35 in October. It's a silly age for any striker.I think he held all the cards there tbh. And he's not joining United to sit on the bench, rest assured (pardon the pun).
Yeah I totally see Zlatan agreeing to come here to be back up striker

And trust me, if a club as rich as PSG wanted to keep hold of him, they would have.
We also have Martial that can play striker, theres no way we need 4 strikers for 1 spotSigning a past his peak Zlatan as our only striker would be a recipe for disaster. We cannot challenge for the League with just him as a leading striker backed up by Rashford.
The EPL is a much quicker league than Ligue 1, with stronger teams. If Jose is smart, he won't put all his eggs in one basket with this signing. More than enough games to go around.. I hope to see Zlatan at his flat track bully best with a more dynamic striker utilised for the majority of our campaign like a Aubameyang/Higuain/Morata.
His new club I imagine.Who get's to tell Depay he's going to need a new shirt number next year?
I have this strange feeling that City will sign him
I just hope it isn't another Schweinsteiger situation.Every situation is unique. I'd take a 34 year old Ibra over a 30/31 RVP in his last season with us. However Teddys best season with us was when he was a similar age to Ibrahimovic. I think he's wasted his career at PSG (sorry Psg fans) but he still looks sharp to me and I think he'll do well.
Yeh tbh i do agree that Rashford isn't ready to be the main man just yet so Ibra makes perfect sense. I would also go all out on that RW spot for someone with top quality, but thats not to say that Rashford shouldn't be given the chance to play there. We haven't really seen enough of him out wide to judge if he can play that position properlyWith RvP, Rooney and Falcao we had to push Rooney back to midfield which is what we will likely do next season too. I'm not saying it's the exact same but it is similar. We need to get players in their proper positions, not just stuff them somewhere they're capable of playing.
From what I've seen I don't think Rashford offers enough on the right, I'd much rather see us get a new winger. I completely agree about Martial though, he should definitely start on the left for us next season. I think Rashford is great but I also don't think he's quite ready to start every game for us over a whole season, Ibra will be a great stop gap for that and allow Rashford time to develope.
We also have Martial that can play striker, theres no way we need 4 strikers for 1 spot
If we sell Depay, I think we might as well give up.His new club I imagine.

Yeh that would be his first position for me, but by his own admission he wants to play ST so i don't see how being 3rd choice for that role is a negative. It would take abit of an injury crisis for us to even get to that point anyway so i just think for the sake of saving resources for more pressing issues this one is best left with signing just Ibra up top.Martial has carved himself a spot on the left wing. There is no need to play him as a CF in competition with Zlatan and Rashford.
Nor do we want to keep moving him around.
Let him focus on being LW for now, he has been brilliant in that position.
