Yep. Let's put all the pressure on an 18 year old to carry United to success ffs. Ridiculous argument.

Even Fergie nurtured and protected the apple of his eye, Ronaldo, for a few seasons.

I don't want Zlatan here but, we need an experienced striker
One that nobody is saying and you have just made up. A manager like Poch would just give him a chance and talk about winning the league in 2-3 years, so there would be no pressure. Similar to what he has done with Kane.

If we had Rashford as our striker and demanded the league next season then it would be a ridiculous argument. But that is not what I was saying.

So we should forget about trying to win the title for the next 2-3 seasons just so Rashford can be a starter?

So what you mean is, start Rashford and have the mentality that winning the league is not important for the next few years?!

If you want Rashford to end up fecked before his prime, like Michael Owen, than fair enough. I want him developed properly and guided so he reaches his true potential.

The more I read posts lately, you'd swear United always just threw in youngsters and they stayed there.... That and LvG has guided them to this level since birth and deserves all the credit

I know that sounds terribly patronising and like I'm having a go at you. Sorry, I really don't mean to

Huh? If Poch came in he would see the title as something to progress to. But I want Jose.

No but I think with a manager like Poch he would play young players and exciting football and see the title as something to get to after a few seasons. I personally would rather Jose and agree with you about mentality.

This makes it sound like we wouldn't be challenging for the title for 2-3 years. I also don't think Poch would just get rid of the pressure at United by saying we will go for it after a couple of years. It's been 3 years already and you can't have 5-6 years of transition or it really starts to build up

People would be patient though as there would be such faith in the process. Even if it has been 3 years, we are still miles off the title so to expect it overnight from a manager who has no history of quickly building a class team with money, would be unreasonable. Although I take your point. If he came in and said "Maybe after 3 years" people would not be happy.

I didn't mean there would be no pressure at the club anyway, I meant on Rashford.

Assuming that Leicester drop off next season by losing some of their players and having CL football to deal with...if we win our game in hand we are 4 points away from second placed spurs, 2 behind arsenal and ahead of city. We aren't that far off from these teams. We should be challenging for the title next year not in 3 years.

Bringing in a goalscorer like Ibrahimovic would be perfect to allow us to have somethint comparable to the likes of Kane and Aguero. Rashford has like 4 league goals to his name and will be 18 at the start of next season. He should be considered as back up and rotation for next year

We need a 25-30 goal type scorer next year and Ibra would be a good way to do it. He's coming off a career best year this year. Give him a one year deal with wages contingent on performance.

L'Equipe also says that Ibra wants to stay but that PSG won't offer another year. He refused to extend his contract last summer. Apparently a decision will be taken after French cup final (May 21st) and before the Euro starts. China is offering big money but Ibra does not want to bring his family to Asia, Manchester reported as interested for months. AC Milan also quoted.

PSG captain Thiago Silva has warned Zlatan Ibrahimovic against a summer move to the Premier League, as Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for the Sweden star.

The 34-year-old is to become a free agent in the summer and he striker has kept fans guessing about his next destination with various hints being made about him moving to the Premier League.

The player, who has netted 105 goals in 117 appearances for Les Parisiens, however, says he would not play for suitors Man United under “pompous ass” Louis van Gaal, although Anthony Martial admitted he would very much welcome the chance to play alongside the Swede next season.

However, PSG defender Silva insists he wants to see his ‘good friend’ extend his stay at PSG.

“He is one of the best in the world, he is unique, there is not another player like him. Of course I want him to stay at PSG, I cannot imagine us without him,” Silva told the Daily Mirror.

The Brazilian centre-half, while no specifically naming Manchester United, feels a move to Old Trafford – or anywhere else in the Premier League – would be a backwards step.

“I know he has offers from England – and it is a big league – but I don’t think there is a team in England that is at the level of PSG at the moment. For me it would be a step down in quality for him,” he added.

Arent those old quotes?

My last game tomorrow at Parc des Princes. I came like a king, left like a legend

Last season people thought he was on the decline but he went on to have his best season ever. He is leaving Paris like a legend.

He deserves better than MLS but at the same time I wouldn't like to see him play for another big club.

Zlatan is speaking the truth here.

Rumors of United or MLS. I'd take him in United for a few years first. He's the same age as Sherringham were now?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: “I am very proud of the last 4 years. I loved every day I spent here. The Paris Saint-Germain has become a STAR club in the world and I played a key role moving it forward. It is now the right time for me to take a different path. I would like to thank my team mates, the technical staff and all the people in the club. My heart is with the fans. They were amazing from the first day I came here. They are the best fans in France. It is not a farewell but only an AU REVOIR. I came like a king I leave like a legend but I will be back.”

“In just 4 years Zlatan has greatly contributed to the history and notoriety of Paris Saint germain as well as promoting French football worldwide, reacted Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain. Ibra is truly a great man on and off the pitch. With his incredible talent and charisma, he has conquered the heart of the people of Paris and far beyond. All the trophies he won with the club, the records he broke and his amazing goals will stay forever in our memories

I am extremely proud of having welcomed Ibra in Paris and I'm now looking forward to the prospect of working with him again at the club when he finishes his career. He will always be home at Paris Saint-Germain.”

A year or 2 at United then off to the MLS. He will give us a target we can actually cross to and he can help with our set piece defending crisis. And we all know about his technical ability.

Mohamed Bouhafsi at RMC (the one who broke the Martial to United story) says it's deffo between United or LA Galaxy, which probably means United if Mourinho takes over.

of course it might already be decided - but it will only increase speculation LVG going if he signs right now. Name dropping or playing alone LV Galaxy won't be a problem since by the sounds of it he would join later anyway. This should rumble on for awhile yet.

I'm surprised he thinks he's got so little left in him that he'd end up in the MLS, that's not the Ibra I know.

He is going to make a life style choice, if his family is happy with Manchester, he will join United otherwise it will be L.A.

An other big club? PSG aren't a big club.:p
