Zlatan said in a recent US interview that it would be hard to join with LvG in charge.
Newsflash fella, don't think that is going to be a problem..Zlatan said in a recent US interview that it would be hard to join with LvG in charge.
Yes, it's appealing - big name, still playing well (in a poor league), iconic figure in the game - but it also stinks of us signing someone who's 'doing us a favour'. Our most successful signings, not just in recent years (Martial, Blind, Shaw) but also historically (Cantona, Ronaldo, Rooney, Keane, Vidic...) have always had something to prove. They were either players hungry to take their game up to the next level or, players who needed the right platform (Eric again).
The prominent failures have been the big-money players who never really seemed to get the club or have the desire to prove their worth.
There are lots of talented players out there who have something to prove - we should be aiming for them instead.

Thing with Zlatan is, he has a huge ego. He basically needs to win to maintain the bullish attitude that he has.

Supposedly wants £600k a week.
To finish, are some serious to think MUFC is a poor club that can't pay his wages?
Let's look at Zlatan against ManCity to have a greater idea of his ability to succeed in the EPL.

April fools?
Hmmmm... April fools taster? The article went up on March the 31st at 22:30.
It's april fools everyday on daily mail.April fools?
Nobody worried about Zlatans reputation about being a cnut?
Absolutely yes, he may slap few of our youngsters for fun in training but then they may learn how to be an arrogant type of winners.Nobody worried about Zlatans reputation about being a cnut?
Spot on - but not just applicable to Daily Fail. It's april fools everyday on daily mail.

Sure, he has lost a part of his pace but against Chelsea he has proved he is still strong to manage the EPL defenders. We are talking of player whose contract expires next summer...
He has shined against all the greatest clubs and nations.
- 62 goals in 112 games with Sweden (a weak country). 2015/16: 6 goals in 7 games with Sweden
- 51 goals in 126 games in Champions League. He scored against any clubs including Barcelona with PSG/Milan and delivered assists
- Best scorer many times of the Serie A and French Ligue 1
- Good stats with Barcelona.
- More than 25 trophies
The Brazilian Ronaldo has never won the Champions League.
For instance, let's look at his performances against Bayern Munich
Juventus 1-0 Bayern - October 2004
Bayern 0-1 Juventus- November 2004
Bayern 2-1 Juventus- Zlatan scored - October 2005
Juventus 2-1 Bayern - November 2005
He could be viewed as an arrogant player but he will make everyone - including the youth - stronger. He hasn't a whining mentality.
Moreover, he is slower and he likes to create opportunities for fast wingers.

United could afford to pay his wages a few times over if they wanted to, but that isn't the the concern some have. Some (myself included) are wondering if it makes good business sense to pay a player of his age massive wages. As sooner or later he will decline and possibly like Van Persie very sharply.
United make a shit load of money despite not being the best team right now, that won't last forever if we keep making bad deals and throwing money down the drain. Falcao, Di Maria and Valdes being 3 recent examples of mercenaries looking a pay day we wasted money on.
City's defence aren't exactly a great measuring stick to judge a player against. Their defence isn't great.
You are trying to make it look like I said he's a bad player or something. Someone said he is a "big game player" these days, I denied that claim, that's it. I don't think he's a choker, or was, (as it was claimed) ever as well.
Nobody is saying United couldn't pay it, most wonder if United should.
Regarding Ibra, massive wages for a contract whose length would be 1 year (with possible extension of 1 year) indeed but:
- no transactions costs. What is the market value of Aubamayang, Keane, Benzema or Higuain ?
- proven ability to excel in any circumstances and leagues
- an excellent scorer is always expensive
- a real leader on the pitch and the team needs experience and thus confirmed players
What I consider as a wast of money is the acquisition of average players overpaid like Schneiderlin, Fellaini or Mata (already in a large decline in his last months with Chelsea: completely ignored by Mourinho).
Agreed. However, if Ibra is able to shine against Chelsea and City, why won't he able to score against Southamption, Hull and Everton next year?
My modest opinion is to say he is still capable to score 30 goals - all competitions - next season.
With or without Ibra, imho, there is an urgent need to recruit a winger able to play on the right and ideally versatile like Griezmann.
@Downcast
I'm sorry for my nit-picking but the myth that free agents come without transaction costs is untrue. Every player on a free demands a signing fee for him and his agent. Zlatan being Zlatan and Raiola being Raiola you can bet they'll demand plenty.
These signing fees will usally be lower than transfer fees, no doubt about it. But how much lower needs to be looked at on a case by case basis.
No, daily mail is just clickbaiting. The reports say that he wants 300k after tax (318,200 in case of this particular DM article)After tax? could get Messi and Neymar for that money
Hmmmm... April fools taster?
600k... He can jog on
His wages per year for the Chinese team apparentlyWhat's the 75 million part about though?
