What will this mean for Rashford? Coming on as an impact sub or will he play out wide?

Neither should be playing every game, for their own good. I think it'd be fantastic for them both. Rashford can learn a lot, and Ibra will know he has one of the best young prospects in the game to keep him on his toes.

Rivals fans saying it'll be a waste of money... The amount the club will make back from various deals it'll work out pretty cheap. It doesn't get much lower risk than this one. We have Rooney, Rashford and Martial to play up top if he turns out shite.

Interesting what sort of deals do you imagine United will now be able to get because of employing Ibrahimovic?

It really doesn't in the grand scheme of things.

If we beat the other 15 teams home and away we win the league. SAF teams won the league a few times whilst being bottom of the 'games against the top 4' league which by itself means dick.

We had a fantastic record against the top teams last season and finished 5th with a whimper.

Suarez is often credited with leading Liverpool to within a cnut hair of a league championship and his record against the top teams was shite.
Yeah we managed to beat nearly all of the bottom teams the last time we won the title

Most here drooling at the moment,if things go to shit, bet those same will come out and call a club all kinds of names. Anyway think with this deal(if true) we as club cant lose in any way,no matter of his wages. The pull, earnings we will get of his name...i know for us fans, this is not important but think club cares about that.

We'll have a lot of games next season Ibrahimovic won't be playing in them all. So rotation, and as you say impact sub and filling in on the right also.

We will play Premier League, Europa League, FA cup and Capital one cup. So he will have a lot of games. Also, he could start some games (to rest Zlatan) and be the substitute. If Ibra join us for 1 season, Rashford will be just 19 years old next season.

Nah, not me. If he fails here then the mods are free to ban me.

Same sort of deals they always do, but with higher brand value to leverage

So you are saying we will get the same sort of sponsorship deals as before but because of signing Zlatan companies will now offer us more?

You could be right but i wouldn't have thought signing one player would increase smaller sponsorship deals all that significantly.

Aye, his speciality was pumping Norwich for 5 per game.

Looks like Duncan Castles had his finger glued to the pulse on this one.

After 15 years of "never having watched him play a good game", suddenly the Caf is all giddy about Zlatan.

Finally the caftards have seen the light.

Yeah, I think so. Enough to off-set some of his wages at least. Ibra has one of the biggest brands in football, possibly top 5? He's not just any old player. Ibra + United is the perfect combination from a marketing perspective. That's partly why we're willing to fork out for Galatico type signings (imo).

People weren't really expecting Rashford to be automatic starter for next season?

It's huge pressure telling a 19 year old to get you 25 goals. He's not ready to do that and he'd get plenty of games also. We need to be patient with him rather than overhyping him.

I'd be excited to sign one of the legends of the game. But then I couldn't wait til another 34 year old legend left as he was dragging us down (Stevie). It's always 50 50 with these ageing legends. They have to play because of their status but may stink the place out as the risk.

You're mixing him up with Cavani.

Fair enough mate lets hope it's the case then.

But having said that if he's banging in goals every week i doubt United will care if his wages are being offset by sponsorship deals.

Thing is it was evident for quite a few years Gerrard was in decline. His quality meant he could still contribute but he was far from his peak past 30. Zlatan however seems to be getting better if anything, he's just had his best ever season.

Thank god Ibra is still one to score, not to slip.

Im going to be the sane guy in this forum and wondeer how we can accomodate both rooney and zlatan in the same team.

Yeah, same, I couldn't give a shite what he costs I just can't wait to see him at Old Trafford!

No. That was Dan Roan at the BBC

I don't see what's wrong with that

That's his agent right? They reported on what they told him and quoted him directly

Most likely it was how the agent wanted the story spun

Yeah it's a bit concerning given the quality of defending in the premie… oh wait
Sarcasm doesn't work here I'm afraid. He'd struggle to come up against defending as bad as that against a Championship side in the cup.

I have no idea if this is true fact, but I'm looking at a tweet from "Fergie's Fledgings" that claims that Zlatan's club has finished 1st in its league 9 of the last 10 seasons and second in the other.

It's a team game, of course. But the chance to pick up a guy who's had this kind of success at the club level, even if he's a right back, should not be passed up. Get this deal done and move on to Greizmann and Kante ASAP. We can linger over the CB hole.
