No, thanx. We already have a overrated, overpaid, past his prime striker, we don't need another one.
We aren't talking about getting Wayne Rooney here, Zlatan is legitimately one of the best players in the world.

Is no one here concerned about his age?

Is no one here concerned about his age?

I'm not. Ibra is a world class player, he is in good form (top scorer) and we can sign him for free.

Also he just said: I think age is just a number and the difference is how you feel. I feel very young. The season I’ve done so far, I never had better statistics than this.

We could sign him for 1 or 2 seasons. Then, we can go for a younger striker. But for now, I think he isna good choice. Moreover, a top player like him could benefit our young forwards.

And no one should forget that if we happen to sign him, he comes with his mad antics. English clubs (like Utd) and the media talk a lot about tradition and values. Ibra doesn't give a rat's a** about such stuff

No idea why people are saying that we should offload Rooney and bring in Ibra, as the little taco lady says "Why not both?!"

The way I see it, Mourinho is our only chance of attracting players like this and halting the slide whilst we're in the Europa league.

Because rooney is shit.

Get ibra in for a year or two, by then would know better if any of our academy strikers are ready to take the mantle. Otherwise, sign the next big thing.

This

People still talk about him like he's 25! I suppose he could do a job for a season. Thats very short term thinking

I think we need a short term boost.

We have a number of players 24 and under and too much weight is being put on there shoulders. Let somebody take the burden for 1-2 years and see how Martial, Deepay and co play when they are not the main attacking weapon.

The pros of bringing him in far outweigh the cons, and it's definitely worth it imo. Ignoring his name, he scores for fun, can score all types of goals, hold the ball up, is still brilliant technically and will demand the players around him raise their game. Now, add in his name. He's Zlatan Ibrahimovich! And unlike Falcao or other high wage strikers we've had, isn't a permacrock.

We need a boost at the club, and one things for sure, he'll have no problem tearing up the Europa league.

Succinct. So hypothetically we go in with a 35yo Ibrahimovic leading the line, James Wilson as backup, Martial as the utility (that will play on the left in front of most players in our squad anyway) and Marcus Rashford/Ash Fletcher as the emerging talents.

Call me paranoid but that would probably cement a brace of really poor decisions regarding the front line in consecutive seasons.

Yeah, unless you dont have any long-term plans for depay. In which case sell him and get someone better on the LW. As it is martial/depay/ibra are going to share the striker and left wing position. I think that should be enough for the season as ibra has a good injury track record.

He's never played in the Premiership and he's 35 in October. As far as I am concerned your idea is a bit out there, to say the least.

Great player - would he sign a one year contract (extend option based on games or goals etc)
because whilst he might be able to come here and do a job for a season I am not sure I fancy whatever crazy wages (£350k as a guess) for three seasons - to put it in perspective thats about £55m

See his form this year, no reason to say he wont perform at a high level in the PL. The french league is a very physical league as well so the adjustment wont be that hard.

Anyone disapproving a potential signing of Zlatan is a mentalist that rarely watches him play. It's such a no-brainer for a season or two. He. Wins. Leagues.

I always disliked his arrogance, but admired him as a player.

For those who say no, put it this way every team he goes to he wins leagues.

He won :
Ajax (Eredivisie) - 2001-2, 2003-4
Juventus (Serie A) - 2004-5 2005-6
Inter Milan (Serie A) - 2006-7, 2007-8, 2008-9
Barca (La Liga) - 2009-10
AC Milan (Serie A) - 2010-11
PSG (Ligue 1) - 2012-3, 2013-14, 2014-15

You have to understand he moves from Ajax to Juventus, they win leagues Juventus to Inter Milan, they win leagues, he moves from Barca to AC Milan, they win leagues, then he moves to PSG they win.

You're talking about a striker who WANTS the ball, is probably best at hold up play in the world and gives his wingers and midfielders around him confidence.

Zlatan has an aura about him that wingers think we can win we have Zlatan he may be arrogant but hes a very good player.

It has been spoken many times on this forum this season about lack of leadership and determination on the pitch. Ibra has an aura about him and that will resonate around the club especially with the younger players, if we can get him on the right type of contract, ideally 1 year with an option for an extension then it would be stupid not to sign him.

He would guarantee goals by the bucketload and will improve our play massively. Also he always wins the league with new clubs.

The idea of getting rid of Rooney isn't out there, especially when you consider he wont accept being a back-up player. Playing him and Ibra at once would be a disaster and that's what we'd do as Rooney won't give up the armband and become a squad man.

I would jump at the possibility to offload Rooney to China and bring in Ibra as his replacement. I am not so sure Rooney wants to go or that we want him to go.

That is pretty impressive. Can anybody but Giggs match that for total number of big-6 league wins?

He really could be the modern day Cantona, I truly believe that. At 34/35 he is still very fit and has looked after his body, he seems more like a early 30's player. I think he would relish the challenge of playing in England before he retires. We could offer him 1 last bumper contract and he would enjoy it with Mourinho in charge.

Free transfer, scores goals, is experienced and with his game not involving much pace then his age doesn't matter. It would be ludicrous if we didn't try to sign him if he was available.

Not if we manage to ship out Rooney, and get someone like Griezmann who can play both as a winger and CF. And Maybe Mahrez too.

Add Jose as the manager and you got a combo that everyone else in the league will hate us for.

Im loving the thought of it!

Gundogan Schneiderlin
Mahrez Griezmann Martial

Martial would be Ibrahimovic's backup, with Depay coming in as Martial's backup on the left wing. And it's also important that we sign a good right wing player, preferably one who could also play up front if needed. James Wilson doesn't need to be in the conversation at all, Rashford has shown more so far in his limited time than Wilson. Ibrahimovic signs a 1 year deal here before he leaves for Beckham's MLS franchise. It gives our young attacking players another good year of development but unlike this season, we wouldn't need to rely on our young players (like Martial) as Ibrahimovic would be the main attacking threat. It's a good solution because it works in the short term without hurting the development of our young players.

Unfortunately, he could be heading to City with Pep.

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tucheladmits he is unsure whether midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will stay at the club following reports linking him with Manchester City.

Pictures emerged in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf on Wednesday of City technical director Txiki Begiristain meeting Gundogan's agent in a hotel in Amsterdam earlier this week.

Also, it seems that we have a "gentleman agreement" to sign Renato Sanches.

Anyone that says they don't want him plainly don't Understand football.

The man is still world class and more important he'd bring excitement and unpredictability to our team.

Could be another Henrik Larsson, it would really stupid not to consider him, he has an aura this team desperately lacks.

I'm all for it as it won't cost anything but wages and he scores goals.
