I always disliked his arrogance, but admired him as a player.

For those who say no, put it this way every team he goes to he wins leagues.

He won :
Ajax (Eredivisie) - 2001-2, 2003-4
Juventus (Serie A) - 2004-5 2005-6
Inter Milan (Serie A) - 2006-7, 2007-8, 2008-9
Barca (La Liga) - 2009-10
AC Milan (Serie A) - 2010-11
PSG (Ligue 1) - 2012-3, 2013-14, 2014-15

Ajax, Inter, Barca and PSG were all heavy favourites in fairness. That's more to do with choosing the right club at the right time. No doubt he played a critical role for Inter, but it was in the weakest Serie A in recent history. Juve's titles with him were stripped due to Calciopoli. At Barcelona he was an undoubted failure. That said, he's been an absolutely brilliant player and I'd love to see him at United.

Excellent assist and he's holding up the ball really well. The kind of striker any team would love to have.

And he does score the goal the potentially knocks Chelsea out. Should have put some money on that.

Would prefer Cavani personally but then one will cost nowt and the other 50m+

I imagine that, if Rooney goes, the board will want a marquee name to replace him and ibrahimovic fits the bill. It makes perfect sense from the club's perspective, and ibrahimovic would probably be an upgrade on Rooney so it would be beneficial on the pitch too.

I said this earlier in this thread and never really got any answer.
Logically, why would Ibra leave the all-conquering PSG team, who are conquering all before them and move to 6th place MUFC, who are going downwards?

Zlatan will never be past his prime, His ego will not allow it.

LOL. Yep.
Also, he is an intelligent player, so he will work out ways to counter his reducing physical ability.
I mean, he is the top goal scorer in France right now.
He even scored a goal less than an hour ago. So age is not proving to be a problem for him.

Maybe he want's to experience the Premier League and a medal to his collection.

He's won everything he is going to win at PSG and might like the idea of playing for a side like Man United before he retires. Add Mourinho (who he loves) to the mix and I can see it happening.

Believe it or not sport, United are still a fecking giant in football.

Because he wants to experience the Premier League and to work again with Mourinho. It's far from a given that we'd be the English side he'd go to though.

Thought he was poor tonight, altough he did score.

He wasn't that impressive indeed. Bit average in his allround game, but a nice cross and a tap in obviously helps elevate it.

Thought he was his usual self. PSG are just a well oiled machine. Great to see AdM is good form as well.

His game has never revolved around pace. His technique is miles better than a lot of players. Convinced he can do a job for a top premier league club. Giroud isn't the quickest yet manages 15-20 goals for Arsenal and he is half the player that Zlatan is.

Assist and goal put PSG through but I have to agree with above, he looked lazy. He's unplayable on his day though.

Yeah, a goal and an assist. Pretty crap. Should have run around more.

If you had watched the game or even saw the highlights package of his individual performance you would see then he was all round game was very average tonight.

If playing average he scored and assisted, imagine what he can do in a good day. Now Chelsea is not unbeatable anymore under Hiddink.

It doesnt matter though does it? Strikers can have all round bad games but as long as they contribute to goals and assists, they've done their job. They're not midfielders.

Depends what you're looking for in a striker. If we are judging Ibra has one of the elite strikers in the world (which I think is where his talent belongs) you've got to do more then just goals and assists. But that's just my opinion.

Ultimately I agree, but I also think it's overly harsh to say he was 'poor' when he contributed to both goals and put his team through.

Yeah agree there. Poor wrong world probably better to have said nowhere near his best but clinical when it mattered

He hasn't been offered a contract extension yet. He seems an incompatible personnality with CR7 for example if we try to go that route.

Of course considering his level of performance this season many people at PSG want him to renew.

United could be in the run in case of top 4. He's expressed the will to play with Rooney before. (!!!)

i'd love me some zlatan at united, no doubt he's past his best but he'd beat up all the mid and lower sides easily which we've really struggled to put to bed over the past couple of years.

and even if he didn't the 'neutral' reaction alone would be fantastic. Zlatan strutting around in our shirt winding up all the blockheaded English hacks with every effortless touch.
i'm getting hard just thinking about it

If Rooney is sold I would like us to bring in a striker approaching his prime or in his prime however Zlatan would be a very good stopgap player, he would also be a leader on the pitch, somebody who can share his expertise with the younger players and a big name which our team lacks.

Agree. He will be far better than anything we currently have and would do a great stop gap job until we get the next big striker. Would be great for the likes of Martial, Mata et al, and his experience would be great alongside Schweinsteiger.

If Rooney is sold, I prefer a player like Griezmann. So he could play behind Ibrahimovic (free), also Martial could rotate in the striker position.

I wish our strikers could have a poor game and walk away with a goal and assist.

Because he has an ego and probably sees the fact that if we had a reliable goalscorer we would be doing a lot better than we are?

For all his talk about not needing to play in England to prove himself, I still think he might see it as a good challenge. We're still a big club and if PSG didnt offer him a new contract he might be tempted.

If they win the CL though he'll probably be off to China/MLS if he doesnt stay at PSG.

He'd be on big wages though and I'm sure most would prefer a younger option.
