Zinedine Zidane - 3 time CL winning manager without a job

Our people actually being serious when they say 3 CLs in a row was mainly down to luck?

How any Utd fan could be against Zidane is crazy, there’s never been a coach who has achieved what he has so early into their career

You can peak whoever you want from Casemiro, Mendy, Carvajal, Vinicius, Isco, Asensio, Varane, Benzema, Vasquez and even Kroos. Also Zidane work goes beyond the 3 CLs, he didn't had an exceptional group between 2019-2021.

You have to stop with the narrative that Zidane was responsible for those signings, there were many other people involved with those decisions. Who knows who was the one that had the final say?

That's not what that post was about...

We can only speculate but it would certainly seem that way this far.

Some might say it’s Man Utd, of course he’ll want to come, yet there’s no reputable reports suggesting it’s close in any way shape or form.

Zidane is a Great as a player, won everything, played for the biggest of clubs, earnt a shed load of dosh, and won everything as a manager.

Hes never had an interest by all accounts in coming to England, a down in the dumps Man Utd is hardly going to make him spring for the chance, regardless to the fact Utd are still one of the worlds biggest Clubs, he’s been there and done it at equally bigger Clubs, it’s not like progression for him. But it is a challenge, does he want or need it, I don’t think he needs it.
That sums up my view too.

Plus, I don't think he's the manager for us. Dreamed of him playing for us but not excited at all by the prospect of him being our manager.

Well, firstly i think any interim appointment will have the option to stay longer based on performance as i said earlier. That's a given.

I have seen some talk that the new manager has already been sorted and signed up but he'll join in the summer, i think thats absolute nonsense, too.

My first choice.

An affable (yet astute) manager who loves pragmatic attacking football (4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1) and galvanizes a dressing room full of primadonnas because of his previous success as player and now as manager.

Get him. He already knows Varane, Pogba and CR.

How we've announced it surely the club are either resigned to fact they can't get him or don't want him. In theory he's available now. Club seems to have intent to hire someone it is under the impression isnt available until the summer.

How about every Man United fan worldwide donate $1 to the cause? I'd happily give even $1.05 if we got ZZ on a long-term contract. Steve Round for assistant manager

I don't think that's true at all. They're obviously looking at an interim now because the person(s) they want isn't/aren't available.

There was no one more affable than Ole. Affability is irrelevant. Best managers in history have always had an edge or even been intimidatingly volatile at the drop of a hat. Zidane doesn't look that affable to me anyway. Those eyes

Guys I'm sorry but Zidane won't be next United manger.
Wanna know why? not because he wouldn't do it... but because his wife doesn't allow him to do cause she doesn't like Manchester.
It's pretty known that he is waiting either for PSG job or France one

Zidane Is Under His Wife's Thumb, Agnelli Says

TURIN World Footballer of the Year Zinedine Zidane is under his wife's thumb, according to Juventus owner Gianni Agnelli. Agnelli was asked at a club training session if Zidane was suffering from nostalgia following comments by the French playmaker that he may leave Juventus at the end of the season because his Spanish-born wife is not happy in Turin. "He's not suffering from nostalgia.

That's not the point," Agnelli said. "He's suffering from the wife's authority. There's nothing I can do about that." Zidane has said he would consider a move to Spain to please his wife, prompting speculation he could join either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid next year. Real Madrid President Lorenzo Sanz was quoted last week as saying the club had been offered Zidane and that Real were keen to sign him.

Zidane has a contract at Juventus until 2004. He is due to play in Juve's European cup semifinal against Manchester United today. (Reuter)

Could be, but that would then mean the interim would have to be someone out of work IMO. Zidane wont do it for 7 months, and apart from him, who is there out of work that'd take it. I'd be really surprised if there isnt a permanent option in the contract somewhere

This could be just an excuse by Zidane. Just like when my friend wants to buy a car. After a lengthy test drive and negotiation and he doesn't want to buy it, he's using "his wife doesn't fancy it" as a ready made excuse. Save him lots of time to explain things.

People argue this point on here literally everytime Pep gets mentioned, and it's just as stupid as the people that bring it up as some kind of point against Zidane
If the reason is Zidane doesn't fancy managing United (or work in England), that's a legitimate excuse to rule him out.

Wow. She has him worshipping her for 20 years. It must be magical..

That's exactly the point, isn't it? The manager (or managers) they want must already be in a job and are not going to leave mid season - or they wouldn't be looking to appoint an interim manager. I'd be very surprised if discussions haven't been had with intermediaries already.

There's no need for any option in a contract. They'll offer a contract till the end of the season. They can always offer another contract to that person if they want but clearly they have eyes on someone to appoint in the summer and don't believe they'll get them before that.

Yeah he’s definitely not affable

Didn’t he say once that when they first met he would have ‘thrown himself off a building’ for her to love him? Something like that anyway. I remember reading that and thinking ‘damn. Calm down ZZ…..’

Zidane as interim until the end of the season is the only appointment that would excite me. Go all in to try and win the CL this season, then we can assess our options in the summer.

Come on Zinedine, it's only 6 months. Scared of a little English winter are you, soft lad?

Not affable and also volatile. He has as much red cards than some of the meanest DMs.

The WC headbutt is the most famous of his meltdowns but he had several episodes like that throughout his career.

Imagine if he comes and wins the Champions League with Manchester United... It will be his 4th (!) as a manager

Good. We don’t need him going to city (when pep goes).
He’s tied up for the next four years then. Will he be as bad luck as his head butt?

I don’t think there was ever any chance of that. I honestly believe Zidane will only ever manage Madrid or France

It’s really hard to judge how good Zidane actually is. He isn’t Pep level or at the very least cannot be considered that great until his success transfers to another team. His Madrid team was collectively phenomenal.

I think it's good timing. Deschamps can exit having done an exceptionnal work. Zidane will have a brand new generation and exciting players to mould.

City happens to be collectively phenomenal too.

France have a brilliant array of young talent, led by Mbappe that will only get better the next few years. I feel this tournament might be one stuck in between the two generations but it’s very good timing for Zidane to take over.

As much as I loved him as a player he is not a top manager. Real gave him a job to be a coordinator of superstars such as himself because they knew he would be respected. His limitations would be obvious in any other team

I guess your right but man for man that first Madrid team has them beat. Zidanes second stint is perhaps closer to the type of results he’d get at another side. I wouldn’t call 3 CL in a row a fluke but the stars certainly aligned for it.

His second stint was pretty decent as well, a couple semi final and a la liga title is not too bad.

Zidane couldn't mould play dough.
Oh okay. Then i'll change my initial post. Terrible appointment, Deschamps should stay for life or put our new generation in the hands of Southgate. Zidane is a blad fraud.

France will be big favourites for all trophies given their depth of talent and Zidane's record in winning big cups.
