Fox and Heath were at Antwerp for three months in 2003. Did not really impress. Bardsley was at Antwerp earlier this year (back end of season 03-04), he was injured a lot but very impressive.

I meant loanded out to any club, not just Antwerp.
The question is what players do Antwerp need, left backs or whatever. Then the players can be identified.

Well having seen Antwerp a couple of times this season, I would say that a creative midfielder and a commanding centre back would do very nicely.

The U16 & U18 were both at Nottm Forest today. The U18 lost 2-1 whilst the U16 won 4-1.

Scorers for the U16 were Nardiello (2), Fabien Brandy and an Own Goal. Chris Backhouse had a quiet game in goal and was only called into action late on in the game to make a smart save from a one on one with a Forest attacker.

Surely if we won 4-1 then he was called upon to pick the ball out of the net once too?

If you stay on the floor long enough you'll find that a defender will eventually get it for you ;)

Or if they think they can score more one of their forwards will do the honours and he'll even take it back to the centre spot for you.

I see the u-18 team hasn´t had any goalkeeping reserve for the last 2 games. Are the u-16 playing their games the same time and was someone else then your son playing for them in the first 2 games?
I haven´t seen Greame Port´s name this season in any games or pre-season. Do you know he is injured or gone? The same is with Beckett, Wallwork, Booth and Linford, are they with the u-16s or just gone?

Nice to see Phil Marsh has healed, on the subbench last weekend for the u-18s.

Halftime, United reserves vs Bolton reserves. 1-0 to United. We have dominated the match with Bolton playing counter-attacking football (attacking heh yeah right) with only one striker, ex-Leeds player Micheal Bridges. A watching Alan Smith saw a half with few clear cut chances because of the crowded Bolton half but the main chance and goal came from a run by Guiseppe Rossi who played a perfect through ball onto strike parter Sylvan Blake to curl superbly into the top right corner of the goal.

Hope for a more open game in the second half with Bolton trying to get the equaliser.

United team:

Heaton

Picken
Howard
McShane
Tierney

Eagles
D. Jones
Fox
Djordic

Rossi
Blake

Nice one! Thanks Dubai!

Oskarutd...
I'd say, along with few others, Graeme Port is no longer a United player. At least the official magazine didn't list him along our youngsters. Though they didn't list Dong, Gomez or Rincon either (whereas they did mention Mamam...), so I'm not dead sure about it.

Anyone care to list the U16's players, please?

Finished 3-0. All top goals, solid in defence... again.
Rossi is just      Get Richardson away from the first team and get this kid in.

who scored and who impressed?any player ratings from those who watched?

1st goal- Run from Rossi, middle of the pitch, spotted Blake making a run to his left, played a perfect ball into his path, and Blake curled the ball into the top left of the goal (Gks side)

2nd goal- Eagles just blasted in down the middle of the goal, about 30-35 yards out, into the top of the goal. Goalkeeper dived but could do nothing about it.

3rd goal.- Run from Rossi past about 4 defenders, rounded the goalkeeper and finished from a tight angle.

MOTM imo- Sylvans Blake, although Rossi was great, the 2 CBs were great again- Howard and McShane. Eagles was decent, just wish he'd have used the overlapping wingback more often. (Pickin was it?), he played well.

Scorers were Blake, Eagles and Rossi.

Blake's goal was described in my earlier post. Eagles' goal was a swerving shot from outside of the box, similar to Henry's goal against us last season. Rossi's was another run past a couple of defenders, past the keeper and then putting it in from an absurdly tight angle.

Ratings:

Heaton - 7 - Made some good saves when called upon, but was rarely troubled. Solid.

Picken - 7 - Up and down the right flank supporting Eagles well. Solid in defence.

Tierney - 6.5 - Didnt get up and down the flank much but was also solid.

Howard & McShane - 8 - Ive decided to rate them together because they are the reserves version of Bruce & Pallistar. Complement each other very well and have yet to allow a goal past them all season.

Djordic - 8 - Rumours around that he is being scouted by some division 1 teams but I would like to see him given a chance in the 1st team before being sold. He is strong, has good pace without being blistering, skilled and can deliver a great cross. Excellent again today.

Fox - 7 - Some good shots from outside the area. Neat and tidy.

D. Jones - 7.5 - Great touch. Strokes the ball. Neat and tidy.

Eagles - 7.5 - Great shot for the goal but didnt get many crosses into the box, mainly due to Bolton crowding out their half.

Blake - 8.5 - Strong, fast, skilled and never gives up on a ball. Took his goal brilliantly and layed another one off for Rossi who was unlucky not to take the chance. Very promising.

Rossi - 8.5 - You can tell he is a class above everyone on the pitch. Had as quiet a game as possible while scoring one and creating another. His goal was very well done. He picked up a lose ball about 35 yards from goal. Went between two central defenders with the drop of a shoulder, jinked past the keeper and then squeezed it in from a tight angle.

All in all a great game to watch. Some real talent shining through.

thanx for the bolton-info, guys.

does anyone know how daniel rowe - the 12 year old boy we payed good money for a few years back - is getting on? stevie b?? anyone??

Thanks, I forgot one, Steven Hogg, does anyone if he is still on our books?

Well according to the United-mag, he is. Check this post for more information.

P.S. Still hoping for someone to post the U16's squad list...

I dont think he was. Alan Smith was there mainly to see Micheal Bridges because the match was Monday evening and they flew out Tuesday morning. SAF was at the Villa reserve game and the last U18s game though. But im sure Choccy and Ricky have told him all about Rossi.

The Shrewsbury game

Does anyone know how the reserves game went yesterday? Line-ups and result and scorers would be nice to know.

they won 5-2. scorers pique, heath x2, timm and calliste.

i heard it on mutv last nite. don't know the line up

Shrewsbury Town 2-5 Manchester United

Manchester United: Tom Heaton, David Poole, Adam Eckersley, Paul McShane, Gerard Pique, Floribert Ngalula, Ramon Calliste, Richard Jones, Colin Heath, Mads Timm, Ben Collett

Subs: Lee Martin, Lee Crockett, Markus Neumayr, Mark Howard

Goals: G.Pique, D.Poole, C.Heath (2), M.Timms

Attendance: 822

Town started well getting to grips with United's crisp passing game, the early chances fell for Town. Henry Goh was looking to get forward and support the attack as Town lined up in a 3-5-2 with Ridler, Walton and Sedgemore playing at the back.

Pedro Matias showed good skill as he looked to get past McShane, he took the ball to the by-line and then Egginton took over, he took one touch and looked to get a cross to the backpost but it was blocked for a Town corner.

Town showed a couple of defensive wobbles early on with Joe Hart rushing out to close down a attack, but Heath showed good skill to nick the ball past Hart but got his shot wrong. Then on 12-minutes Dave Ridler's attempted backpass put Hart under pressure and he had to slice the ball behind for a corner. The ball was whipped into the nearpost and there was Gerard Pique who got in before Tolley to head the visitors into the lead.

Ross Stephens showed good pace as he played the ball to O'Connor and then continued his run cross field towards the Family Stand, O'Connor pinged a good ball to Stephens and he looked to take the ball past McShane and came away with a Town corner. Pedro Matias swung in a good corner to the near post but it was headed away but only as far as Edwards, he nodded the ball back to Matias who clipped the ball back into the box, Tolley rose well and laid the ball off to set-up Dave Walton, but he smashed his shot just over the United bar.

Town got level on 23-minutes after a superb shot from Tolley, the ball came to him and he let loose a low drive that flew past Heaton and into the back of the United net.

Minutes later Town had a great chance to take the lead after a lovely pass from Tolley split the United defence to put Ross Stephens away, he looked to nick the ball under the out rushing Heaton but the United keeper did well as he stood up and manage to block the shot.

Town were forced to make a change on 30-minutes with Marco Adaggio coming on to replace Dave Edwards, he'd taken a knock earlier on and hadn't been able to run it off.

United took the lead on 34-minutes when Dave Poole showed great persistence as he pushed towards the by-line, the ball looked to be going out but Poole manage to recover and loop a great cross into the 6-yards box, Ridler and Walton jumped but Colin Heath rose above them both and put in a powerful downward header that Hart got a hand to but couldn't keep out.

Half-time: 1-2

Town were looking to get back on level terms after the restart with Tolley and Matias getting some good ball into the front two. O'Connor threaded a lovely ball throw to Adaggio who got into a good position behind the United defence, he looked to cut the ball back but McShane got to back to clear.

United got a third goal after Sedgemore called for an offside that never came, Heath kept his run going and took the ball in one on one with Hart, he smashed a vicious low shot in that squirmed under Hart and ended up in the back of the Town net.

Then on 60-minutes United got an excellent fourth after Calliste showed great skill, he skipped past the Town defence and drilled in a great diagonal shot that gave Hart no chance as it flew low into the far corner.

United's class continued to show and they got a well worked fifth goal after Heath showed great skill as he cut past the Town defence and was away down the right, he whipped in a great cross into the Town box and there was Mads Timm who stroked the ball past Hart giving him no chance.

Tolley forced Heaton into a good save after he put in another long range effort. Then Town won a free-kick after Adaggio did well to wrestle the ball off the United defence and laid the ball back to Matias, he looked to nick the ball past McShane and the United player brought him down. Sedgemore stood over the ball and curled in a free-kick that hit the wall and then dropped to Adaggio, he looked to cut the ball back in but was crowded out by the United defence.

Town had a great chance to get a goal back after Goh broke down the right after being put away by Adaggio, he continued his run towards the by-line and crossed into the United box, it fell to Tolley but he got his shot wrong and put it over the bar.

Town got a deserved goal back at the death after a good piece of pressure saw a Town throw. The ball came across and Egginton did well to knock the ball back to Tolley, he smashed in a great shot but it hit the crossbar, the ball then fell to Egginton and he kept his composure to smash the ball into the net.

Full-time: 2-5

Thanks for that redanton. You had to register on the Shrewbury Town site didnt you. Anyway sounds like it was a good performance from the lads. Maybe they are finding the Pontins League a bit easy. Thats 4 wins out of 4.

Immortals :D

your welcome, and no I didn't need to subscribe. I always go to the oppositions site as our site (for the biggest club in the world) is last for most things.

How old was Giggsy when he made his debut for us, 16 or 17?
Just wondering if this Rossi fella your all raving about might make the first team this year (League cup maybe).....Canal Digital has stopped broadcasting MUTV in Norway, so its really frustrating to hear all these great reviews on the lad and not be able to see him play...

Watched a bit of that match

Lee Martin went off injured near the end

Calliste scored a good goal

defending was poor on both sides
