I don't think he's slow
He's much more of a ball-winner than Scolesy

He reminds me a bit of Pearson of Celtic who we were talking about on another thread, closer to Gerrard than Scholes though obviously nowhere near either yet

Scholesy would be a ball winner if only he could time his tackles!!!!

I was refering to the way his clever first touches make him that extra couple of yards of space, that was the only comparison with Scholes I was drawing.

"Dave Jones, he scores goals" will hopefully be sung at old trafford in the years to come, he does get forward well.

I agree with you on City's no.10, do you remember his name? Just want to know just in case he makes it, then I can say - I thought he would.

Fabien Brandy impressed me a great deal too. Tireless up front, even though the game didn't really go our way. I was also impressed by the little lad that nearly scored a "Gazza", flicked the ball over someones head but failed to get any real purchase on the shot. I was also impressed by the fact that not many of our team where big lads that you could tell didn't have loads of ability but will always excel at youth level because they are physically ahead of the rest. Most of those lads don't make it because they are found wanting when everyone cathes them up physically. Mind you, our right back was nearly as big as me!

I think it was sturridge, I believe he is a relative of Dean

Won 1-0. Late goal from David Poole.

And what a goal it was..... he deserved it a tireless performance.

Bojan and David Jones looked good again last night, surprised Jones came off at half time but his replacement Floribert N'gulala looks like a good prospect (Can't believe he's only 17!). Paul McShane has always impressed me this season when I've seen him play and last night was no different.

Djordic was immense. Best player on the pitch for the last 3 reserve games.

They played against Wolves. We were pretty dominant and should have won by more than 1-0. It was the our more senior reserve side but none of the lads that have been in the 1st team squad recently played. If I can recall the team was:
Heaton
Picken, McShane, Howard, Lawrence,
Poole, Fox, D Jones, Djordic
Timm, Calliste

N'galula on for Jones
Collet on for Timm

the whole team played well 1st half and should have gone in well infront, they seemed to get a bit frustrated as the time went on and the game got scrappy, as so often happens we scored when wolves were having their best spell of the game with another great finish by Poole.

It's a good side that. I've not seen Fox before the end of last season but he looks a very tidy little player, way too lightweight though.

Did Collet play well again? Benn very impressed with him, he's another I hadn't seen much of.

sounds like Collett is back. I think he won the youth teamer of the year and then got a bad injury.

i am interested in knowing how timm is coming along

he is supposed to be very skillfull but doesn't have the temprament

so has his loan spell sone him any good like djordic

Timm seemed to loose all confidence after missing two changes and his first touch left him completly. The team played wonderfully the fist half, but where not good enough in the second. Jeckell and Hyde I am afraid. That might be normal as this is only their 2nd game in that league. If that is the case than we are in for some wonderful games!

Danny Webber signed for Watford on a permanant deal at the start of last season after impressing during his loan spell.

under18 result

United 3-2 West Ham -

only seen the brief highlights so cannot give details, i think Rossi scored 2 and evans 1

rossi looks to be scoring goalks at that level

Anyone knows how his general play has been like?

What about Martin, how’s his playing style, passer/dribbler? Has he been played as a CM or a winger?

And what’s happened to Pique? He’s not featured in any game.
He is a winger. He is more a dribbler, but a fine passer as well. He runs well with the ball.

I know Pique has been training with us, but weather he has got his international clearence yet, or is injured, I do not know. He hasn´t been playing with the u-18.

Then why the hell won't Fergie giive him a first team chance ahead of Richardson????

Maybe because he's been out on loan for so long? I'd like to see them both playing in the same reserve team at some point soon before making judgements. Remember, the reserves and first teams are of very different levels.

United just beat Rochdale 3-1 in the Pontins League. We really outplayed them all match. Rossi was excellent as you would know if you read my thread in the United forum ;). Goals by Eagles, Rossi and Richardson.

This was the lineup:

-------------Steele-------------
Picken-McShane-Howard-Tierney
Eagles-N'Galula-R. Jones-Richardson
-----------------Rossi----------
---------Heath-----------------

Eagles was OK along with Richardson. Both scored but didnt do brilliantly in the game, but still good performances. Rossi was excellent. Richie Jones and N'Galula especially controlled the midfield against much older and tougher players. Throughout the whole 90 minutes I think N'Galula only gave the ball away once. They seem to be a good partnership. Howard, McShane and then Pique in the second half were very solid once again, hardly put a foot wrong. We really have some excellent young CBs. Howard, McShane, Spector and now Pique all look very promising.

Not sure when Bardsley is back.

Have to say I'm more than happy with the way our production line looks like atm. It seems that we have one or even two youngsters for almost every spot capable of making it, if not at United then at a good level anyways. It hasn't looked this good in years. Let's just hope that the ones who deserve their chance will get one and use it; no more verons & klebersons (:nervous:... he might still become one though) when we have players born and bred to play for United at our ranks! We might have one helluva squad in a few years time, a perfect mixture of experience, class, hunger and youth (not that it isn't allready!).

i see ramon calliste played for wales under 21s, so wats he like, anyone

May have something to do with Djordics attitude problems a couple of years back. Otherwise, I have no idea. Does seem strange he got offered a new 1 year contract though...

he's inconsistent - even for a young player - but very, very good at his best. quick, skillful, likes to take defenders on. scored twice against city and schmeichel jr in last season's youht-cup. all in all a good prospect who could go very far with the right determination.

Antwerp win again

Antwerp made it four out of four and remarkably, Fangzhuo Dong scored his fourth goal in four games - all after coming on as sub. Antwerp won 1-0 at Ronse. Dong scored after 80' (came on after 30') and Souleymane Mamam was substituted after 66'. No more info at the moment.

1 Antwerp (ANT) 4 4 0 0 10 3 12
2 Zulte-Waregem 4 3 1 0 14 4 10
3 Tubeke (TUB) 4 3 1 0 10 4 10
4 RS Waasland 4 2 2 0 6 4 8
5 Heusden-Zolder 4 2 2 0 5 3 8
6 SK Ronse 4 2 1 1 5 3 7

thanx for that, mista. about time for dong to get a start?
