i think his exploits at bordeaux qualify him as a special player. they fell short this season mostly due to a busy schedule and thin squad. but for three years he has been the heart and soul of that team. honestly, if he were available at 25 million pounds, we should jump at the chance to sign him.

How is Gourcuff and Berbatov not a threat for crosses, both are tall but Berbs just lacked that finishing touch this season...
Mark my word they play different positions as Berbs is a CF, Gourcuff is a MF a more attacking minded one which we only have Scholes for that. Saying that we just need a person to get on crosses is lame, we should go for Peter Crouch or Heskey then... Gourcuff has the element in speed in his game and is much better abillity wise than Park...
Again, we have never seen Gourcuff play in our side so dont' be spastics about your posts.

The thing is that he wants to leave, I say take the profit and sign someone else, it was worrying that he didnt get any games at United in his time at the club, also he isnt better than Nani or Valencia so we dont really need him.

While I do believe that we need a midfielder, I can see us not bringing in anyone expecially now that Scholes had signed a new contract. I mean we currently have 4 attacking midfielders (Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Gibson) and 3 defensive midfielders (Hargreaves, Carrick and Fletcher). Not to forget players like Cleverly and Pogba who may be used next year. People will have to leave before we can buy.

You dont know that he cant do that job. That would be the whole point of giving him a chance after doing well out on loan. It might be that he's our next best winger.
It's still a huge call to let either Pogba or Cleverly actually play, Scholes is going to play another 2 years max so why not buy someone who has the potential to replace him ? Not being a muppet but we cannot rely on Scholes and Giggs to play there.

No, i said our scouts have been tracking him like mad, I never said we would sign him. He will probably start at £30 million. With our value for money policy now I doubt very much we will sign Hamsik or any of the mentioned.

No. We've been linked with a lot of players (in a similar role; Modric, Joe Cole, Hamsik, Arteta, Silva, Milner) by various papers, but not a single one (even the dodgy unreliable ones) have linked us with Gourcuff. City and Arsenal have been, but we've not.
