Yoann Gourcuff

Domenech will leave after the WC is over, I think. I expect France to do poorly.

get them both.

We're definitely better off with Sir Alex than Blanc + Gourcuff in the medium term. I wouldn't mind seeing Blanc come in for a few years with the explicit guarantee that he will take over from SAF when he finally decides to step down. But Blanc probably wouldn't want that.

Which would be the ideal thing to do but I can't see it happening.Gourcuff will be too high profile for United to buy

I don't think that's true. If Gourcuff wanted to come here, we could afford him. I think 30 million pounds is a doable transfer fee, and is in the ball park of what Bordeaux would accept. Chelsea aren't in the market for a player like him, and probably not Real Madrid or Barca either. The only team we have to worry about financially is City, but footballing concerns might over-ride financial incentives in this case.

No one can say for sure.City are more than likely to play CL football next season and with all the top players they might acquire with it, Gourcuff might be tempted.Financially and sportively I'm not sure he wouldn't consider them as on both aspects City will represent an improvement for him

fair enough. it's just a judgment call that will be down to the player. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that city don't qualify for the champion's league this year. if they do, it will make it that much harder for us to get the players we want.

I agree with koroux here - if City get fourth, then the footballing reasons start to matter less. He'll be playing Champion's League football in a team that is clearly going places, surrounded by good quality players (Tevez, Robinho, and whomever else they sign in the summer), and he'll be able to bed himself in at the start. He can become their folk legend by being the catalyst and the star, whilst still getting both the football (Champion's League) and money (more than his wildest dreams, especially if City are vying with us for his signature) that his heart desires.

There's also a chance that City may prefer to recruit someone else. But yeah, I agree that if they qualify for the champion's league, then that could hurt us.

Gourcuff has said if and when Blanc leaves and if its for a big enough club there is a very large chance he will follow him. What this tells me is he's not loyal to staying at Bourdeaux.

Pretty likely to be some big money moves for him in the summer, I would think.

I think Sevilla'd be the right type of job for him, the clubs run quite well and while it's a step up it's not a big change - Madrid might be.

If Gourcuff came to us then he'd get heavily criticised I reckon.

Why do you say that?

Because a lot of our fans and the media don't realise how good the players we have are. So when a new boy comes in who doesn't immediately start performing like Ronaldo all they do is get criticised. Why i'd say it.

Basically, and because he's not always involved a bit like Berbatov.

It's why between the 2 of him and Hamsik I'm certain everyone would prefer Hamsik.

Probably true, although he's an unusual kind of player. Hard to pin him down as a type of midfielder - he's not a Xavi who sits and dictates but he's not a Lampard who's there to get the goals. Has a bit of everything.

Nedved.

ANyone watch Lyon Vs Bordeux ?

Not the best match of his career. I've noticed he has a bit of a showboating habit on him. On numerous occations he tries to take on multible players and get through with a clever pass, which doesn't work very often. Still a good player.

Not right one anyway. He plays as Lyon's playmaker, just behind the main striker who often is Lisandro Lopez. So in a way he's the third CM of Lyon but with more license to create

Yeah, I had read of him referred to as an old fashioned #10 style of player, I'm guessing if he leaves Lyon then Spain is his more likely destination?
