There is also this great pass
What a turnaround theres been on this guy. Before the World Cup he was the stuff of dreams for the posters here. After a poor showing with a shit team, he's been shunned.
Very talented player, who I believe could do well here.
(I'd still rather have Schweinsteiger.)
I can't speak for some, but I've never advocated signing him.. before it was because rather like Hamsik.. I didn't think he was the type of midfielder we should be looking for.. we need a proper midfielder who can take a game by the scruff of the neck and is nearly always involved in the cut and thrust of the midfield action.
Secondly because I always questioned whether he had the cahones to play for United and said the World cup would prove to be a good indication. Nothing based on that tournement would lead me to declare we have a player who has the heart to play for United, a talented lad though of that I have no doubt.
I'm with you mate. & when it come to Gourcuff I'm plain biased in his favourThe world cup brought out the worst in a fair few top players. Is it just me, or does anyone else think now is the time to take advantage of low interest in one of these players, and get a bargain?
Maybe re-posting this video will help to remember his talent ^^ (Dugarry co-commentating)
City eye £20m playmaker
Manchester City, 12:45, August 16, 2010
Manchester City had £20million-rated French playmaker Yoann Gourcuff watched in action for Bordeaux at the weekend.
The former AC Milan starlet, who has scored 23 goals for Bordeaux since leaving Serie A, won the French Young Player of the Year award in 2008 and lifted the title in 2009.
But he had a disappointing time at the World Cup and could be ready to leave Ligue 1 for a big-money move, with City interested according to Le Parisien.
City had a representative in the crowd at the weekend as Bordeaux lost 2-1 to rivals Toulouse. His contract with Bordeaux expires in 2013.

I'm not sure he wants to. If all the stories about him coming out of the WC are true - that he didn't mingle with the other players, kept himself to himself and only talked to players from his club he knew well - then he's obviously not someone who does well out of their comfort zone. He wasn't very good at Milan when he was there, and only began to show his talent properly back in France, so it ties in with that theory.
I think he could quite happily play there the rest of his career....much to his agents annoyance I'm sure.
Aulas is a genius.
Something tells me that whatever they pay for him, they'll be asking for at least double it at the end of the season when top teams come in for him.

Sad, really.
Indeed. Best club owner around.Aulas is a genius.
Only Hamsik can save us now.
And Pastore.
Any source saying that Pastore won't consider us ?
Anyway, there's still Banega, Pastore, Hamsik, Defour, Hazard who still haven't made their likely big club move yet so keep your cocks waiting lads.
GOURCUFF ON VERGE OF LYON SWITCH
Lyon have agreed a 22million euros fee with Bordeaux for France playmaker Yoann Gourcuff.
The 24-year-old remains highly rated in his homeland despite a disappointing World Cup and Lyon believe he is the man to help them reclaim the Ligue 1 crown they last won in 2008.
The 22m euros will be paid in three instalments before the end of 2012 while another 4.5m euros payment will be made if Gourcuff moves on from the Stade Gerland.
Gourcuff is expected to sign a long-term deal later this week once he has passed his medical.
Bordeaux released a statement which read: "This transfer will take place to preserve the interests of Bordeaux, in full agreement with the coach and the coaching staff and in accordance with contractual commitments of the player."
And while Les Girondins appear to be balancing the books, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas suggested Gourcuff's arrival would not be the last before the end of the transfer window.
He said: "Our recruiting is never done. We are always thinking."
MANCHESTER UNITED: SIR ALEX FERGUSON'S GOING FOR YOANN GOURCUFF
SIR ALEX FERGUSON is weighing up a shock £18m swoop for Lyon midfield sensation Yoann Gourcuff.
The Manchester United boss is keen to strengthen his midfield options in the next transfer window and Gourcuff is on his radar.
United chief executive David Gill has confirmed Ferguson has millions at his disposal if he wants to go spending.

Gourcuff, 24, is the current French Footballer of the Year and is being tracked by a host of Europe’s top clubs.
He has struggled to settle at Lyon since joining from Bordeaux in the summer, following an unsuccessful spell with AC Milan.
He has fallen out with boss Claude Puel and would love a move to Old Trafford.
Ferguson is also keeping close tabs on Belgium international Steven Defour as the Standard Liege star slowly recovers from a broken foot.
If Fergie decides a move for £10m-rated Defour is too risky in January, he will step up his bid for Gourcuff instead.
Meanwhile, Holland inter- national keeper Maarten *Stekelenburg, 28, says he would also jump at the chance to play for United.
Stekelenburg’s contract at Ajax expires at the end of next season and he says he won’t sign a new deal.
He has been pinpointed as a possible successor to veteran Edwin van der Sar and said: “United is one club where everyone would want to play.”
