He saved 50% of the penalties he faced last season but before that, he hadn't saved a penalty in the league since 2014.
oh yeah that makes more sense
he's genuinely shite at it

I’m sold.I would wank myself into delirium if that happens tbh
He is already a legend in Switzerland and one of the most likeable players to ever play for the nationalteam.
But as I said above, he will not come as Nr.2. We have the Worldcup coming up where he will be Switzerlands undoubted Nr. 1. And he will want to play regularly before it.
As for his strenghtes: Brilliant with his feed. Very good distribution. Good shootstopper. Commands his defence very well. And he is a very smart & good looking young man who has normaly a very good media & fan relationship.
Weaknesses: Is not the biggest Goalie, so maybe on setpieces this could be a challenge in the PL. & he has the odd howler in him. But on the biggest stages he always delivery.
Doesn't want to come.We aren't getting him? Sommertime sadness for United.
Here’s what we could have had:
Sure. He’s miles better than De Gea. Absolutely miles better than him.I think that’s why he hasn’t come. He’s not a number 2
Just set a Bundesliga record today by making 19 saves vs Bayern. He is so much better than DDG now it's completely understandable why he is not willing to come here and be his deputy.
Nonsense. We didn't promise him to be our starter, so he understandably declinedI bet you we offered him no increase in wages and he is like no thank you.

Oh yes because we are famous for giving tiny wages.
Wouldn't be the first case of United offering a different status to a player and therefore a lower wage than another club. Bellingham at Dortmund comes to mind, who made the far better offer to him than United.I don't disagree but here I don't think we were paying No.1 GK wages. But that's just my speculation.

Replacing De Gea with a 2 year old keeper. It sounds a bit unlikely but I guess goalies should be able to play into their 40's in this day and age. As long as they take care of them selves and reflexes and desire is still intact.
Right. Also low risk - he'd be on a free and he'd probably be on less than half of De Gea. If it doesn't work out, can sign another keeper in a year or two without having to worry about recouping a transfer fee. Plus we have enough other holes that not having to use part of our budget on a keeper would be great.Replacing De Gea with a 2 year old keeper. Sounds incredibly unlikely!
He really throws his toys out the pram when he concedes.

This guy is Brentford standard, what are we doing.
If ETH rates him then let’s get him. He always looks sturdy for Switzerland in big tournaments.
About to turn 34 which is still prime years in goalie lifespans. We got Edwin when he was 34.
