Wout Weghorst

Another Anti-Vaxer I see....
It is a zero risk move, he's unlikely to do worse than what we already have is he? It's a loan and as far as I'm aware there's no obligation to buy him

And before you say it I'm all jabbed up

is there any chance he could be on the bench on Saturday or will the registration etc not be done in time. Him coming on in later stages, whether we are seeing game out, or chasing a goal would be a big lift.
As long as he passes the medical and the fax machine is working he'll be available

15, 24, 30, 32, 35, 37

Is 7 open since it was registered already? Not sure on the rules. 11 is out there but seems they aren’t releasing it until Masons stuff is final.
Butland uses Dubravka’s 31 number, so pretty sure 7 is open, not that the Wout will be given it, mind.

A loan that costs us €3m to Besiktas and probably something to Burnley too.

If it works out here we should try sign him in the summer.

Ya but wouldn't try too hard. Burnley are probably coming back up and so if he does well I could see them trying to "United tax" us. If it's not around the price they gave Besiktas they can take him back.

If he fits well and we want to sign him, doubt that he will go back. Burnley wouldn’t want an unhappy/unsettled player, so they may play ball.

We can only trust in ten Hag, he surely knows best what we need. On paper a very underwhelming signing after names like Gakpo or Felix have been floating around.
Although probably we should be happy that it’s not the guy who dreams of being better than Salah.

Why not? If he scores more than our last 7 did this season then it would be fine, and deliciously hilarious.

3m fee for a loan for Weghorst? Isn't that too fecking much?
That's not the loan fee. We pay 3m to Besiktas, where he was on loan, to convince them to give him back to Burnley, then we loan him from Burnley, for an unknown fee.

Do we have to whinge at everything. What did we expect, to have him for free? 3m is feck all.

His wages will be minimal...and as always the fee is in euros so it can look a tiny bit bigger.

Look at this way...he will cost United about the same as 6 weeks wages they were giving Ronaldo...but they will get Weghorst for 6 months.

Never underestimate the Caf. Someone will have a pop at his choice of socks or his haircut by next weekend

3m is nothing...hell they pay more for unproven kids from brazil

it's lower than the fee paid for Felix and i'm sure his wages are a lot less than Felix as well

Thought this was very interesting. From Atheltic.

I'd agree with this, when I've seen him play I've been quite impressed with his link up touches.

Gets painted as a big lump when I think the reality is he's a decent footballer who suffered in a Burnley team who didn't really play football.

Hopefully he does well for us.

It was a sweetener for their trouble. Besiktas could have told us to get fecked and we wouldn't have a choice.

Lets not forget he was a big player for them, and they've had to go and sign somebody else now which they might not have had the money for.

Disappointing that there haven't been any option to buy clauses reported in this deal. From what I had read, Besiktas had a £10m option for him. Not that Weghorst should be seen as a long term solution for us, but lets say that he bags 7 or 8 goals this season and generally performs well. An option to buy of around £12m, lets say, would be great value for money and add depth and versitility in our front line.

We could then splash on a big name signing up top this summer and suddenly have loads of quality and depth in a position where we currently have none.

LW: Rashford/Martial/Garnacho
RW: Antony/Sancho/Rashford
CF: (Vlahovic or Oshimen)/Marial/Weghorst

Looking good for a title push on all fronts

Don't give us a chance of getting Kane then

Martinez was one of a few players that went to shake hands with Werghost after that sour ending.

Him picking a fight with Aguero would have me proper revved up for Saturday IF he could somehow make the bench
