If nothing else he provides ample content for those that think judging strikers purely by goals is foolish.

I thought he did well. He helps create space for the other attackers and is clearly doing what ETH wants him to do.

He’s a big dog

Not a ‘big dawg’ I mean like literally a dog. Cos his pressing and energy is crucial to a Ten Hag side, but as he can do literally nothing else, everything he achieves could probably be replicated by just having a big dog on the pitch.

Yep he's like a very enthusiastic Great Dane.

He’s a decent passer which is why ETH has been playing him behind Rashford, but he’s god awful at everything else. I appreciate people wanting him to succeed because he tries hard, but anyone saying he’s a useful attacker is kidding themselves.

He’s Burnley level for a reason.

Yeah, wrote a few posts back that it’s clear he’s the weak link in the team. But having him here with us has been crucial with this fixture schedule, rather a Burnley level player than the super talented but frequently unavailable Martial

I love his attitude and his work rate and I feel a goal would possibly open a door, you can see it's frustrating him.

Prefer this loan over Sabitzer who I feel has been poor all round but early days.
Sabitzer has been poor?
Are you watching Thomas Sabitzer by mistake?

Christ all mighty, unless you're smacking in goal after goal nobody on here is ever happy.

He is doing a great job for the team. That's why the team so much wants to give him a chance to score. I know he is already not the most talented finisher. But being a passing monster also has a toll on you in terms of freshness to finish off chances.

But who is a more prolific version of him we could buy in the summer? If that’s what Ten Hag wants in a striker, fine, but we need someone who can score. I di like what he adds in build up and composure but imagine if he had added even 2 more goaks by now (1 in 3).

Surely Kane is the one?

I like him, wouldn't be against him staying as a squad option for next season on the cheap.

Not a very good individual player but a very good team player, understands his role and sacrifice and lets better players do what they do best. Presses, works hard, does the donkey work.

Ronaldo could never.

I like him, and would be more than happy to keep him as a squad option next season, provided the cost is reasonable.

I honestly think he’s lacking confidence, even in scoring in the lesser Turkish league you can tell he lacks confidence but I think Ten Hag is doing wonders for that. Imagine he will be a different player by the end of the loan

Weghorst the workhorse, definitely deserved a goal today.

At least with him you know you’re getting hard work when he isn’t scoring.. definitely has his uses in this team.

Can't be mad at him because he's trying his heart out for us and the bottom line is if martial could actually stay fit he'd be an impact sub and rest option only

He runs his arse off and it looks like all the players like and appreciate him
He's a body and he creates space for better players

He is rubbish though

Give me a couple of examples who are somewhat attainable? Surely there can't be more than one or two available and half a dozen total.

Honestly think he'd be a 100m+ player if he could finish.

I can only think of Kane who is actually a 100m+ player

Today he filled that Casemiro gap in midfield by breaking up play, not letting them dominate the midfield. He was like a beast today. Another solid 7 out of 10. How much did he want to score in that last quarter! He’s doing the business that Ten Hag wants.

People banging on about how he's crap just because he doesn't score have never watched Ten Haag's Ajax.

Werg is doing the same job Dolberg did for Ajax, wasn't the goal threat but dropped deep, built play and brought others in on goal, Tadic - who ETH played LW, was his top scorer.
Does this sound familiar?
Rashy doing Tadic's job and Werg is doing Dolbergs.

People seriously need to get a grip and pay attention to how much he helps by dropping deep to force an overload in midfield and then running forward to force the defenders back.

Figuring out how to get the most out of his limited abilities, in ways no one expected, is a wonderstroke by ETH and co

That said, I can't figure out how he's so bad in the air. It feels like he jumps downward, attacking the below his actual height

Being cack aside, surely no one can dislike the guy. Imagine if he were talented, he would be absolutely world class with that work ethic of his. Futile ofcourse since he is not very talented at all. When you signed him this performance is what I expected of him, but I thought he would actually score a few goals as well, since he is actually capable of it.

Doing a job, setting the standards for the team in terms of workrate and importantly being regularly available for selection. We'd like more ability on the ball but we knew what we were getting so can't really fault him.

Can't we just train a youth player to do what he does? Or just sign a younger better player.
That kind of aerobic capacity cannot be trained to that extent or else everybody would be like what.

That's why players like ji sung park are so valuable.

WW is a good option to have in the squad. I'd go for Kane or osimhen anyway.

He was pretty good apart from the terrible finishing. Which is kind of a problem when you are a striker. But he seems to have the right attitude and works tirelessly. So far not a bad deal.

His heatmap is quite the sight, to be honest:

What the hell... How do you interpret that even! CM?!

Looks like a giant turtle. Sort of apt for Wout.

Pace of a turtle but hard shelled defensive qualities and if the mythical story legends are true, he will get to the finish line before the rabbit!

I think he's settled in remarkably well given he was a January signing and has had to acclimatise to the prem pretty much instantly; not bad for a championship player formerly on loan in Turkey.

He's only going to get better.

Not very good to be frank, doesn't have the talent at this level but a real grafter. What can you do, a bargain bucket loan mid season. He's playing a role for the team which is okay.

What  There's nothing £100m about him.

He's had a good goal scoring record before and no one thought he was £100m worth.

I think he knows these missed chances will kill his prospects of a permanent transfer. Hard not to like him for the effort levels alone.

How can anyone want to keep him. He's only looking just about serviceable because Rashford is bailing him out. If Rashford wasn't scoring he'd probably be the most hated person on here.

He's doing half of his job really well and the other half terribly. We have two Fred's only in Weghorst's case he seems to have a football brain.
