Good thing restropective red isn’t a thing now.

He’s in rotten form, can’t even control a ball right. We all know he’s bad but he’s not that bad, probably all the criticisms got to his head.

Absolutely tragic footballer. People say this stuff a lot, but he is surely the worst I’ve seen play for us. Right up there in any case.

And yet people on here wanted him signed permenantly because he can run a lot. Anyone from the caf would run a lot and work hard if we were playing for United when we clearly weren't good enough. Running a lot and showing passion should be the bare minimum requirement

Good thing?

We'd be blessed to have him suspended for 3 games.

He's the worst player I've ever seen play for the club.

I don't watch the youth teams - those that do, is there any youth striker who could do better than him? If not it's truly concerning

There has to be someone in the under 14s who can offer more off the bench

He's not a good fit but at least he gets Martial some rest. Really stupid with the 'punch' and couldn't control the ball properly. I doubt the move will be made permanent.

I think he realises he has no future at United and the dream is over. His attitude looks quite negative, drifting off side and complaining more.

Says it all the only thing he did was punch a guy in the face...

Must NOT go anywhere near him in the summer

Wasn’t even clinical enough to hit him in the face

Tbf people have short memories, he was very important post World Cup when Martial was injured. When Martial plays it’s very evident how much Wout is lacking at this level but I’ll be grateful for his efforts, he contributed towards the league cup win. Someone said he’s the worst to ever play for us, they mustn’t have been watching Utd very long; but I won’t miss him when he is gone next season.

I’ve seen worse, they just didn’t get anywhere near as much game time.

We are threadbare as it is, he’s still an option no matter how shit. Once Rashford comes back then yeah, I don’t give a crap.

I don't understand why he plays. Nobody can convince me there are no better options than a player who is so shockingly poor individually and makes the team 50 percent less dangerous. Play Elanga, play Sabitzer up front, anything.

It's like he's this random fan who's won a competition to play for Manchester United.

Every pass just bounces off him, what passes he makes he misplaces, and you sense he could give away needless fouls all day long. His finishing is just hit and hope and he has no balance at all when he takes a shot.

If a team played a kind of old-school, hoof-it game, I could see how he would come to the fore, but we rarely resort to those kind of Everton/Stoke City tactics anyway.

It's just Bebe levels of bizarre.

Surely Elanga can do more than WW does. At least there would be an added benefit with Elanga as we can increase slightly Elanga’s price…

Maybe I'm looking into it too much but this game, and how he looked on the bench against Sevilla (even when we scored), he's starting to act like a grumpy old twat.

Compare that to the "I'm very happy when others score" attitude he had earlier and I just see a bloke who doesn't like being a bit part player. I'm not surprised he's frustrated though, he's had plenty of opportunities to do something and he just hasn't done enough.

Trying to get sent off while we had an injury crisis going on? That swing was an idiotic thing to do, really.

I'll need to dig it up but on one of the Athletic podcasts they looked up the numbers and for all the "pressing" that people think he does he actually does it less than Ronaldo did. His energy seems to be used to run around and not actually do anything of note.

The way he runs into the box with a defender glued to him and how he gets annoyed when someone doesn't chip him an inch perfect overhead pass, as if Fernandes just needs to tap L1+triangle, is frustrating as well.

Edit: ffs it's his passes in the final third that are lower than Ronnie's. Ranked fifth for pressures, apologies.

Maybe he knows he's done? He was doing okay, and contributing a decent amount. But all gone to pot and think the more Wout has played the more exposed he has been.

That would be insane.

I don’t understand how this man is a professional footballer. He has no redeeming quality’s whatsoever. It’s comical watching him trying to control the ball.

Poor cameo really. Liked Weghorst much more in January-February period. Didn't score back then either but his pressing was good. I hope he can be useful for us when needed between now and end of season.

Nah, he was complete shit from the start, many just refused to see it because of the new signing honeymoon period.

I don't know what he was thinking in that episode, you could hardly blame the ref if he sent Weghorst off.

A modern day Ralph Milne

That was the comparison that struck me. Other players have been hopeless but the manager realised fairly soon so they didn't play that much.

Reflects really poorly on Ten Hag that he has given Weghorst over 1400 mins in all competitions.

I've seen comments on here about players not passing to him in previous threads and so looked for it today - it was very noticeable

That's harsh. In his first 12 or so games he was pretty much 50/50 between good and bad. Obviously that's not good enough, but it is better than many make out.

He's been shit since then though. I was hoping it was him being overplayed and having a bit of a break the last couple weeks would see him look more like he was when he first joined (even 50/50 is much better than what he's done lately), but this was probably his worst performance of all.

People that were calling for him to be signed on a permanent back then should be ashamed at their lack of football knowledge, my days. Was clear from the get go how terrible he was, and my biggest red flag was instantly noting that he's brutally bad in the air as well. Would be a different story if he was just a giant tree that was good for hoofing crosses too and put in some work rate (essentially Fellaini up front), but he might as well be Juan Mata in the air to go along with shocking footballing ability.

But hey, people "loved" him because he ran around and we won games that he was involved in (even though he often actively contributed to our lack of threat going forward). Embarrassing
