I don't think there's any chance of that. Maybe - and it's a big maybe - if we lose at Everton on Saturday, he may get the bullet. There seems to be feck all noise about him getting the sack.

He should get the fecking bullet tomorrow

I was Ole in all of last season. He made some brave and correct choices with our squad, trusted our young players and gave us some positivity after Mourinho. We suffered some untimely injuries in the first half of the season and had to field the likes of Pereira and Lingard so to me the first half of the season was a write-off and I couldn't judge him properly. After the lockdown, we played mostly great and we got 3rd, the highest we could have realistically got so I was happy to see him go into this season as manager.

However this season, he's had mostly a full squad and seeing that 1st goal tonight just shows we're a mess. He's done well, but it's time to move on imo. I hope he can turn it around but I just don't see it any more

Ole is a likable guy, a United legend and he comes across as a passionate United fan.

This said, he's never been good enough for the level we need. I wish he'd done 10 years around the circuit and got more experience before joining us.

We need a manager that can handle the big personalities of today's stars.

We need a progressive, attacking, modern traction.

We need a new manager

Sorry Ole

If Ancelloti is clever he is going to sit tight and not overly attack us. But then Ole might decide to sit tight too and then it will be Chelsea game all over again.

Was just coming in here to post similar, if he's got any sense he'll know exactly how to beat us, surely he won't play right into our hands.

Sack, I've been this way for a while so its not a "knee jerk" reaction to the latest pathetic performance

Tonight was the first time I've asked the question "has he lost the dressing room" it can be the only reason for the lack of urgency when we are losing in the Champions league they were strolling round like it was a kick about in the park. Yes given they are highly paid professionals playing on the biggest stage you think they'd manage to pull their fingers out their arses but still...

It's his lack of changing things in game, fair enough he couldn't predict the players being that useless and unresponsive leaving Demba Ba isolated up field, however its the fact it then kept happening and we nearly got caught out again and again. It was the same vs Tottenham when Shaw kept drifting into the centre back position, leaving acres of space where he should be, he didn't react to this so Tottenham kept exploiting it

He's making bizarre choices, why take off DVB/ only use him as a sub, he's performed well when he plays, if he was struggling to settle fair enough but he seems fine, good almost.

Few people on the match thread said his season is based on 2 results. I cynically said at the time of PSG and Leipzig that while they were good wins, they played into Oles hands with his main tactic of counter attacking as they left huge spaces for us to counter into. We all know Oles biggest weakness is defensive low block teams, you would think they would be working on this in training, going over footage of us playing them and analysing it. Do we have team meetings? Do we train?

I totally agree the roles above the manager need to change. Eg get a DOF in, move Ed to corporate sponsorship only, we all know that.

However Ole is out of his depth and it's time for him to go. I'm not sure who I'd get instead but I want a tactically excellent manager who plays exciting, innovative, attacking football. Get some excitement and some proper coaching in. You look at managers like Klopp (pains me to say) and even Bielsa at Leeds and the players would run through walls for them. Get someone who can get the players wanting to do this.

The gurning one irritates the hell out of me but Eds biggest mistake will be not getting him after Sir Alex.

The commentator just started by saying "so Ole why are you leaving here" I thought he'd resigned... it was actually continuing to say "with no points. "

I've said it a few times lately he's starting to resemble Moyes, from his body language on the bench to even his interviews like he's out of ideas and doesn't know what to do to turn this around.

I feel your pain... but the real culprits are the owners and the board room. Ole will have to carry the can for the inept way we were set up and the totally random subsitutions as at the weekend. But make no mistake about it the recruitment shambles that happens every year post-Sir Alex is not on the Norwegian.

True the board and Ed are to blame too. But Ole must have given the green light for Maguire and James so that is on him too.

Oh that's not my opinion on the matter. I just think there's zero chance of him getting sacked after this. It's all been far too quiet on the sack front. Three defeats in a week could turn the heat up on him though.

To play devils advocate...

Would you take a 1-0 defeat in Sunday if it meant he got sacked straight after and Pochettino was brought in.

The alternative is a win/draw and Ole lives to fight another season with the same old shite we've seen for the last 2 seasons.

If he doesn’t go after that performance then the club deserves the mid table finish we are designated to have this season. The players have downed tools because I don’t think they fear getting dropped or punished for poor performances. There hasn’t been any spark for players aside from RBL game and Paris.
Everton could and should be his Moyes game if he’s not sacked before then.

Knowing how this club loves to shit on us, I'm sure they will keep Ole even if we lose to Everton.

Still back him, but it won't mean for much if we lose on Saturday. Think that's a do or die game for him.

Just not feeling this at all, I think he's good for a while yet no matter what, and so he should be, he's long down the list of the people that need to leave the club right now.

Still standing firm on the ground and saying we should keep going with Solskjaer. Keep going forward. Keep developing.

In Premier League, our results have not been what we hoped for but it is long season. We are not far away teams infront of us. In Champions League we are leading a tough group. One lost game doesn't change that we have started well in CL.

When will this start?

Turn the heat up? we're close to the relegation zone and have just lost two games on the bounce at home and away. Previous to that we've been embarrassed 6-1 and 3-1 by Spurs and Palace. The time for waiting for the heat to go up is over, it's already in meltdown.

Id take a proper bashing as well

Absolutely. No brainer.

I will always stand behind the manager, but, this is not good enough. Something must change, or it’s better to give the job to someone else. No doubt that Ole has built a very exciting team. If someone take over, he will inherit a team that can be great.

The thing is the board could claim back the faintest slither of credibility if they just acted now. They have dithered on every managerial sacking/appointment to date, and it’s baffling when everyone else can see the problem weeks, if not months, in advance.

Who are they trying to please by keeping hanging on till the very death?

When the dog is suffering, you put it down...

The club buys into every manager, said ages ago this cultural reboot was very basic and there was no real plan but to people like Ole, Woodward and the Glazers who are all incompetent it’s all they’ve got.

This will play out a while longer with everyone just hoping for best, the only factor that makes it likely to happen sooner is there is a much better manager in Poch who is available and would take the job.. club can’t recruit managers so they need an easy option whether it’s right or wrong one.

This is the really difficult one. Never want this club to lose but if that was a 100% guarantee either way, I would take Poch.

Problem is I think we will lose but he will still continue.

Time to go. It’s been over 100 games and it’s not suddenly going to change. Still time to save the season too.

Still won't happen. You only get sacked mid season at this club if you successful manage to turn the entire place toxic - like Mourinho. Everyone else has to wait until the end of the season (or mathematically can't make top 4)

A couple more losses and Ole might be packing his bags. However, I suspect we will pull off one of those sporadic blinders in the next one and everyone will start thinking he is a tactical maestro again, thus buying him more time.

I’ve been Ole in since the start, but not any more. I hope he continues working with the club in some capacity but not as manager.

The owners must shoulder the blame too but the players we have should certainly perform better than the utter dross we’re dishing out at the moment.

Keep? We are regressing and fast, no going forward...

Again, it's not what I want. I personally think he's gotten too much time as it is. I never would have kept him on after his caretaker spell.

I just don't see anything concrete about him getting sacked. If it was near, I think there would be a-lot more noise about it. He should be under serious pressure as we've looked really poor this season, in general.

Ole should be fired right now. His time as UTD should be viewed as a success but he has taken the club as far as he can. I don't know how see this loss and justify keeping him. Sure we might win against Everton but there will be another bad loss coming after that. With Ole it's a pattern of bad performances followed by good ones, rinse and repeat. We need someone else who has a system who can get consistency in the style of play and results

So will the people who attacked the so-called Ole-outers apologize in the end? For all the vitrol and trash talk thrown at fairly objective observation and opinion on why OGS should not be the manager for this club? I had a very early opinion about Lukaku as well, it’s dangerous to be «right» on this forum :D I stood by my shit even after Leipzig and PSG, two victories based on counter attacking against teams not as good as their reputation (on the day). I’ll say it again, one Leipzig-player gets into our team on the day - PSG maybe three? Neymar, Mbappe, Kimpembe - their midfield was terrible.

Solskjær does not have the tactical understanding of too football, it’s enough in Norway, but this is the big leagues. Differences are tiny, make a fatal mistake and the best club loses to the worst so to speak. In Norway you’ll win the league if you sign a few players and up your budget a little bit, it’s no benchmark what so ever.

Jose got sacked somewhat out of the blue, when most of us assumed Woody would hold off until CL qualification was no longer an option.

The board will have no choice but to pull the trigger if we perform like this for the next couple of weeks.

Something I've seen in match thread. For me that is not a question for a supporter. Every supporter should be behind players/manager/team in every game.

Yeah we sure are moving forward and developing big time.

Hopefully Pochettino is available come season end because I'm not ready to throw dirt on the coffin yet, Ole has this The Undertaker meme quality to him.

That's kind of my feeling on it too. There's zero noise about him getting sacked.
