Would Fellaini improve under a new manager?

Since he is already here there is no harm in giving him a chance to see if he can rise to the challenge . With Giggs and Anderson on their way out I don't think we will have too many cms even if we keep him . A midfield roster of ;
New signing
New signing
Carrick
Cleverley
Fletcher
Fellaini, should give us enough strength in depth .
Also, Carrick and Fletch may not be here for too long...Fletcher might be here a little while but I'm guessing Carrick might retire or quit United at the end of next season. Will be sad to see him go...

Maybe under Tony Pulis or Fat Sam but he's simply not at our level. He looked lost in the Champions League, was sent off in 1 game and could have gone in another, just a liability. If he was excellent I might be willing to overlook the elbows and thuggery but he's not worth it.

Fellaini should be nowhere near a United shirt. Hopefully the new manager's first move is to tell the board he's not wanted.

Fellaini had a decent 20 minute spell about a month ago, but I really don't see much hope for him in a United shirt. He could become an effective journeyman footballer for West Ham or Newcastle, however.

He'll be out on loan soon enough. why would a modern manager both with that?

Makes me cry £27m and the players we could have got with that money.

He certainly don't have any future as a first team regular here. That said, I'm sure he could be a decent squad member.

To me he's a forward and not a midfielder. I don't like seeing him at all in the middle because he just don't cut it there. On the top he can at least use his height and strong physics to score. Think he should be some sort of linkman in rough games.

I am giddying myself up towards van Gaal's surprise at what he will see from Fellaini. He will wonder how Moyes did not get more out of his potential.

Some humble macarons on redcafe will be served next may.

Ok you can question how much we paid for him but Everton paid 15m for him. He's been one of the best players for Everton and probably one of the players the least other players like to play against. He's terrorised us enough times. I think we paid a couple mil more than we should have but that's it. This is a player that's one of the cornerstone of the dark horses for the WC. If he has a good World Cup, the price will be justified.

He's a better player than most give him credit for in the right position. Like I said previously, this is the hardest season for a decade a player coming into this club.

What we will see from fellaini? U bet he will the best tea lady out there.

Given the money we spent on him, the disoragnsational chaos and negative attitude around the club during his first year, I think its only fair to him that we give him another full year. I cant help but think that the players were also perhaps not supporting him as much as we might another new signing like Mata.

He deserves another chance and I personally think he could make a dramatic impact.

It will be interesting to see if Giggs selects Fellaini for any of the remaining games of the season, he was very much a Moyes Buy so there is a big question mark over him now...i fear for him tbh.

I think it's hard to see any future with him at the club when his best position is always up for debate. He is out of his depth at United in either attack or defensive position we put him in. He gives away needless fouls and I find him leaving a lot to be desired in the aerial department when he is beat out by people shorter than him. I doubt he would improve under a new manager at this stage. I could see him being utilized to his maximum ability at a different club such as a Newcastle.

He's on his own. There's no Moyes to help him get some games but I think it may actually help and finally bring his old determination back to prove to us that he's not just another fraud from Everton.

We may give him one season more and see how it will go.

On the other hand, Giggsy may know more than us. Perhaps he should be sold to create space for new forces.

Shows how much his team mates rate him, dropped from the squad. We'll be lucky to recuperate half what we paid for him.

With Juan Mata I've gone with two centre forwards and I want us to get off to a fast start. Fellaini is unfortunate not to make the bench but he will be involved in the coming weeks.

we paid £4m extra and even if we had paid his release clause he still would have been overpriced by at least £5m. Signing him was a feckup of Andy Caroll proportions. Also how he plays for Belgium doesn't in anyway justify his price tag for US. The only way he can do that is to play well for Manchester United over a sustained period like a £27m cm is supposed to.

Sorry but playing international football does have some impact on any transfer fee. I might be wrong but I think we are going to see a different player if or when he gets his chance under Giggs.

he didn't make the squad yesterday even though he was fit. Next season it will be even harder for him to get into team if we manage to get new players. I will be happy if he proves me wrong and turns out to be a quality cm. But chances of that happening are slim.

He just doesn't fit into our expansive attacking style of play. As a midfielder, he's too slow, technically inferior and is too defensively inept for a top side. And that's the thing, Belgium are a good but unproven international side that have qualified for the World Cup but there are others who have too (like Bosnia and Greece). Doesn't make Fellaini that good, does it?

I would ask those who think he'll somehow come good or give him a chance, when was Fellaini ever someone we were interested in? When the club were eyeing midfielders last season or before did anyone ever think of him? Don't think so. Sell him, loan him, get him out quick, cos he's a just gonna be a constant reminder of Moyes' mediocrity.

Hopefully this will just be a season long joke and like his former manager, he will not be here next season. He's performances have been as clear as any player I have seen at United in my life who is clearly not good enough to be here.

Cash in while we can. We'll be luck to get half of what we paid for him though.

£10-15m would be a an absolute steal...for us. Just to have him off our wage bill and off our squad list would be payment enough.

It is difficult to predict whether or not Fellaini improves under our new manager. We don't really know for sure who will the manager be, what kind of playing style he will impose and who he will sign come summer. Taking into account that Fellaini has not shone at United under Moyes, I remain optimistic about his future. He may have a successful World Cup and get sold for decent money, or he may actually improve his perormances under new manager and his coaching team. He can of course turn out to be a complete disaster, but I'd rather put my money on having a win/win outcome for both parties involved.

I still hope he can develop into a reasonable player, alongside a top quality passer i think he can do a job. Needs a manager to instill confidence in him and get his role right.

I think he could be decent if restricted to a holding role. I don't think he will last long if van Gaal is the manager.

I think it speaks volumes that Giggs chose not to select Fellani yesterday. It may have been because he's a remnant of the Moyes era that can't play United style football or he's just not good enough.

Either way, I'll be surprised to see him make anything more than a sub appearance before the end of the season. He's not a United player, he can't play once touch football, it's beyond him.

I could cry when I think about what £27 million could have got us. No wonder the board didn't want to give Moyes the money.

So did Duncan Ferguson and we never tried to sign him.
